Thank you so much. Boy that is a great question. I do think there is a good answer though, which is to play a single character. There is a huge amount of detail to manage when you are playing this game, and through course of campaign you will get a very large number of cards, objects, abilities. It's a major table hog where keeping track of everything and going through your options and not overlooking things is a major mental effort. So I think it's an easy decision to play a single character, even if in other games (like say Pandemic) you would play 2 characters for the added strategy. And I don't think playing 2 characters would add much to the experience. Just my personal opinion -- you could always try it and let me know what you think. -jesse
I am not sure about rule #12 - Keywords On Blocked Cards Are Ignored. I don't think it's in rulebook, was this confirmed somewhere on forums? For example, if you have a blocked item with keyword CUMBERSOME, I think it should still be considered as "having an item with keyword CUMBERSOME" - after all, you still carry this item.
I agree with you that it is a strange rule and seems counter-intuitive! And I do not believe it is in the rulebook. But it has been stated clearly on the 7th citadel forum by someone in the know: the7thcitadel.seriouspoulp.com/en/forum/topic/10450/can-i-barter-blocked-items/page/1/312637/1713906877#312637 It would be nice to get further confirmation about this rule because it seems to strange.
Even if the rule is correct, I think the 7th citadel is best played thematically, and I agree with you that it makes the most sense that cumbersome items you are carrying around, broken or blocked, would make sense if they still imposed their keyword, and that would be a better rule to follow for them.

I definitely missed the single-line compound action symbol during my first playthrough. Thanks for the tips!
Extremely helpful video series thanks so much. May I ask for a solo player do you advise playing one or two characters?
