    So, with the cave, you were meant to explore it when he dropped you at Railey (east). You go through the walking street, follow to footpath to railey West (past some hotel complexes, and then turn right at Railey West beach (there is a floating pier in front of you and Railey Princess hotel to your left).. walk towards the cliffs on the right (if you’re facing the sea) and eventually after passing some mangroves you’ll spot a path round to the right ..with a fence on the right (usually with monkeys on the top) and with wall/cave on your left. This is the entrance to the cave. The footpath follows through the over hanging cave (it’s open on one side the whole time) full of stalegmites. When you get to the end you’re at the best beach in the area - Phra Nang beach. Easily one of the best beaches I’ve ever been to and well worth sunbathing there for the day before either getting a boat from that beach direct to Ao Nang or walking back round to a Railey West. Hope this helps!! 👊🏼🥳 🇹🇭

      Hey James. Hopefully these directions will help future travellers. It kind of threw us a bit being taken to the other side. We saw the cave last time so we weren't too disappointed on this trip. Thanks again for your detailed response and for watching 🙂

    I've loved this tour from Krabi/Ao Nang. I did it twice (once in Feb 2018 and once in Feb 2020).
    KL is my favourite city along with Bangkok. I've been to KL 5 times as 2-3 days stopovers to get to other parts of Malaysia. KL is quite different to Bangkok though

    • @ParksTravelGuide
      @ParksTravelGuide  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's a good day out isn't it? We prefer KL to Bangkok if we had to choose. Sadly we had to cut our time short and couldn't devote the time that it deserves as we had an onward flight to Sri Lanka. It's definitely on our return list though with an empty suitcase for all the shopping!

    • @brothersman524
      @brothersman524 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ParksTravelGuide Yes I prefer KL to Bangkok too. Sri Lanka is definitely a good place to go and I've been there once myself. In fact I have visited probably 19/20 countries in Asia alone

    You should have seen Ao Nang back in 1999 it was truly a piece of paradise the beach road was not even paved. All it was was just the beach road and about a hundred meters up on the right side that was it, in low season most was closed except for a few local restaurants.

      Mass tourism can often ruin the charm of places. I saw Marmaris in Turkey turn from a quiet town into a tourist metropolis. In all honesty it's ruined parts of it too. I guess you have to make the most of places before they get on the map.

      @Parks Travel Guide the best thing abt private longtail is ya can also ask what order they're doing it and why, then ask em to do it reverse as other boats tend to do the same due to tides etc. Hence one can be solo on an island 😂😉

    I've done the boat tours multiple times and have a couple of points I'd like to mention. These wooden boats are great n all but do remember they take quite a bit longer travelling from island to island, the big tour speed boats race past them. Maybe that is what you want but it means less time on the islands. Another thing isn't technically a scam but they think we are stupid. Say you are on a 5 island tour and then suddenly they get a "call" saying the water is too choppy at your next stop so they by pass it. In other words doing you out of an island stop. It's clearly rehearsed in my opinion. If they do that to you don't tip them at the end.

    • @ParksTravelGuide
      @ParksTravelGuide  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there. We didn't go to Phi Phi so I'm not sure on what their pricing is if you are already there. They will probably do a ferry to Ao Nang or Krabi town and then it would mean another boat trip for the 4/5 islands. We know a ferry to Phuket from Ao Nang was 700thb per person but Phi Phi may be more as it's a tourist hot spot.
