Which Golf Game is Better? PGA 2K23 or EA Sports PGA Tour? Depends on What Type of Gamer You Are

- PGA 2K23 and EA Sports PGA Tour are both great golf games in different ways. Which one you'll prefer depends on what type of game you're looking for and how good your hardware is.
I grew up on links as well (I'm 55. Back then we did boot disk to optimize memory) Would take a few seconds to draw in the screen. It was amazing detail back then. I loved it.

EA PGA for me. I have no interest in online playing and EA has a much better and more immersive career mode. The recreation of these iconic golf courses are a joy to play and I find Y2K a flat and lifeless experience by comparison. The PS5 version now has a performance mode that runs at 60fps and I'd recommend using that if you like to play on simulation skill settings.

Yeah but it looks wrong. The size of the clubs compared to the ball and golfer? just looks stupid

I was a long time TGC course creator and best decision I ever made was dumping that hot mess. I really dont like EA either but the game is light years better 2K.

PGA Tour 2K23 is better than EA Sports PGA Tour. 2K23 is easy playing if setting is easy. EA Sports is completely suck. I setting easy however still difficult get the high scores. Putting green is very difficult as well.
Just because you’re bad at a game doesn’t mean the game is bad. You obviously hope the game holds your hand or else you won’t like it.
2K23 is hot garbage......the textures are so flat and the game lacks any personality. the only fun part are the weird courses people make.

If you are a casual player and just want something fun and easy, pick 2K23 (you can make it harder if you want, but you can make it as easy as you want). If you are a hardcore player who is looking for the Dark Souls of golf games, pick EA sports PGA Tour (I'm playing this right now and it's freaking HARD!!! Even on the so-called "easy" Arcade mode, it's FREAKING HARD!!! However, it accurately simulates golf and is VERY rewarding when you win). Also...
Graphics wise:
EA sports PGA Tour looks A LOT better and has A LOT more detail to it's graphics (the reason for that is the EA game is current gen exclusive, meaning it's NOT on last gen Playstation 4 / Xbox One and is ONLY for Playstation 5, Xbox Series X and high end PCs), 2K23 looks worse and looks last gen in comparison (mainly because it is since it's meant to run on Playstation 4 and Xbox One, but it does have Playstation 5 / Xbox Series X versions with higher frame rates, but it's graphics still look worse when compared to EA sports PGA Tour).
Finally,
2K23 has Tiger Woods exclusive to it. However, EA sports PGA Tour: Road to the Masters has the Masters (the # 1 most prestigious event and award in golf) exclusive to it.
In the end, it all depends on which of these things you want: (the type of difficulty you can handle, if you want high end great looking graphics or last gen graphics, and if you value a famous player versus the # 1 most prestigious event with award).

I've just finished playing almost all of both games and I've noticed that EA Sports PGA Tour: Road to the Masters has several more things that PGA 2K23 does NOT have. The EA game has ALL the REAL events, courses and awards. For example, EA has The Masters (which is the Super Bowl / World Series of golf) and the prestigious Masters "Green Jacket" award and the official Masters trophy, the official Masters opening ceremony, etc, and they also have the other big golf events like the U.S Open, The British Open (now just called "The Open"), etc, as well as the official trophies. Meanwhile, PGA 2K23 has A LOT of FAKE events in it's game (for example, they have a FAKE Masters event that's not called the Masters, but it's meant to be in place of the Masters since the Masters is exclusive to the EA game. The course itself in 2K's game is a FAKE knockoff of the real thing where they try to replicate the real thing, but for legal reasons they had to change a lot of things in it. They also have a FAKE U.S Open that's called something else, etc, etc). The 2K game has a FEW real events and awards (like the FedEx Cup), but they have A LOT of fake events they created themselves since the EA game has a the exclusive rights to several of the real world events in their game.
HOWEVER,
The 2K game has a course creator which allows gamers to share their courses, and some people have created Masters style courses, U.S Open style courses, that are pretty close to the real thing (but not 100% accurate because of legal reasons, and for legal reasons there won't be trophies and other official things,, but they are pretty close as they can legally get). The EA game does NOT have a course creator (granted, they have ALL the real world courses officially in their game, so it can be argued they don't need one, but still, you can't create your own course in the EA game. So the 2K game allows an ENDLESS amount of courses since people can create courses and share them with everyone else).
