  • Hey everyone! In today's video we are sublimating on regular wood to create cute decor pieces for fall. I am using Polycrylic to apply on the wood prior to sublimating, and my Epson 2760 printer to print the designs. You can also use this technique with Infusible Ink and your Cricut Easypress.
    I am using these products:
    Starcraft Heat Press: www.brilliantvinyl.com/?partn...
    Asub 8.5x11 Sublimation Paper: shareasale.com/r.cfm?b=158377...

    Hi Christy! Thank you so much for the video! What type of paint are you using. I am new to sublimation and I have been trying like crazy to get it right. I am using Rustoleum Chalked paint with a thin layer of Polycrylic. When I press them I am at 380 degrees for 60 seconds and it kind of looks like either the paint of the poly is melting and completely pulls up the paint. Any suggestions or reasons why you think it's going wrong? Thank you!

    • @AppalachianHomeCo
      @AppalachianHomeCo  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! You could use Design Space to design an image, but you would still need a sublimation printer to sublimate. However, you can print the image with a regular printer onto a fabric transfer sheet, or also a waterside decal sheet, and then place the image onto the wood that way. With the transfer sheet you would need to press with an iron, with the waterside decal you just print, cut around, dampen with water, and slide the decal off the backing onto the wood. Hope that helps!

    • @HalfAssHomestead

      The thing about anything poly coated, is the ink has to dye the surface. You can sublimate many products, but if the substrate isn't there, it won't work. Much like T-shirts. You can sublimate cotton, but it will wash out. Do it to a poly shirt, and it will last forever.

    If you use laminate sheets instead of polyacrylic , the paper doesn't stick. Don't know why, but it doesn't.
