I remember Fabuland from the 80s. I didn't buy sets because I was too old for it, but I admired the simple yet elegant design.
These Animal Crossing sets are gorgeous. The colours, parts and constructions are lovely and the minifigs are cute! I wouldn't mind buying some and putting them on my shelves. It'll fit nicely within my collection of anthropomophic minifigs ... I even have those from Vidiyo. I know it wasn't a succes, but the characters weren't that bad.

I had almost all of them because by the time I was old enough for them my mum could pick them up at rummage sales. They were really fun because you didn't need a lot of bricks to make a building. Just snap together the walls and start playing. I remember I had the books too which was a rare thing in my life that I would have such a complete assortment of toys. Probably all came in one box.

I honestly think this theme is going to sell really well. It lends itself to collecting perfectly. You put all the different houses together to form an entire island and unlike in the game, there's no limit to how many of your favourite Villagers you can have living in your town.
Just imagine a CMF series with all the different villagers! It's practically begging to happen! I'm definitely gonna try to get all the sets of Wave 1.

I think Lego should instead release villager sets that includes 3 or 2 furniture, so we can change furniture in our lego houses, but also so we might learn how to create minifigure scale furniture.

My sister had some Fabuland, and indeed the figures were retrieved from their box in storage a few years ago when my niece and nephew were about 4 years old. It was the Fairground set and its characters.

This comparison once again perfectly outlines why I don't like modern Lego sets - there's just too many colors. Not only some of them look random, but it also makes building MOCs out of multiple sets much harder.

Its really clever marketing, they’re doing something new whilst looking back and banking on nostalgia. The water is being tested for a Fabuland reboot

    March really can't come sooner!
I'm planning on buying all sets except for Julian's birthday party, and maybe receiving it as a gift instead because it looks strikingly different to the rest (perhaps we will see autumn and winter themed sets pop up with different grass colors too). We have also seen a new peach mold being revealed for monkie kid which I'm sure will be used in other Animal Crossing sets.
Only thing is Vidyio definitely wasn't fairly priced, esp the beatboxes so I expect this theme to do better, especially considering the IP's popularity alone.

Never for me... They look nothing alike.
