Fabuland is a weird but interesting LEGO theme that paved the way for a lot of LEGO themes to come after, in this video let's get a glimpse of this theme's history and what we got out of it.

An interesting look at a theme that has endured for over 40 years, and all this inspite of it only being in production between 1979 and 1989.
I think the appeal of the theme isn’t down to one thing. I think nostalgia plays a big part, but I also believe Lego fans recognise the uniqueness of the Fabuland elements and the possibilities those parts give in building MOCs. I also think the figures are very cute too!
As for prices. Yes, buying Fabuland via auction sites such as eBay can be quite expensive. But, there are bargains to be had, still! And searching through BrickLink can often turn up items at a reasonable price! But, since I started collecting the theme I’ve seen a massive hike in the advertised price of a set, a figure or an element. Sellers recognise the demand and have pushed prices up to stupid levels for boxed sets. Even sets with parts missing are commanding high values.
I recently purchased a drumstick that I needed to complete a set I got as part of a job lot. This tiny, 1 centimetre piece of plastic cost 6 Euros!

@@turtlescream7 yes, not just about Fabuland, it does feature and mention the theme but it’s mainly a critique on LEGO because of some mold changes to Fabuland pieces and the lack of baseplates and alternate builds to modern themes
