I use to fish all the time. I would get mad, upset, angry, when I struggled. I havent been able to fish for 2.5 years because of a serious health issue. As strange as it sounds, I'v learned more about fishing and life sitting at home reflecting, than Iv learned any of my trips out. The down time has given me the chance to slow down, and look at everything. Fishing is more then just throwing lines in the water, catching lots fish, having expensive gear, chasing that PB. Iv been able to stop, look back, and appreciate all the trips iv taken, even the bad ones. Iv learned its not all about those things, its not all about that perfect trip out on the water. Its about being outside, learning how to do something on your own. Its about spending time with friends & family, its about cooking up a great meal and talking, laughing enjoying time together. Doing what you love with the ones you love Making those memories for a lifetime. A bad day fishing with someone you love, is better then a perfect day fishing by yourself. If I'm ever able to get back out there, those memories will be the only "PB" I'll be chasing. Im new to your channel but...this video really hit close to home for me with what Iv learned. I hope others watch, and enjoy the same. - FM
“ Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.” That’s something my dad used to always say and it’s a great quote. Great vid as always and a great group of family and friends
Family, friends and great food! I love how appreciative you and Brooke are of the outings you guys go on and the friends you get to see again. It makes the videos so awesome! Really good things happen to really good people. It was great to see the family getting it done. Well done guys! Stay safe out there!
Love your channel - we started fishing with Heritage last year after watching one of your earlier videos with them several years ago- did my 3rd trip with Josh yesterday and have another scheduled in July -He's the best and works nonstop trying to deliver an epic experience for everyone. Keep up the great videos - we love what ya'll are doing!
I've said this before. Thank you for sharing your family with us and all the great dishes you guys cook and serve. Also for showing how conservation can and does save out fish stocks by throwing back those snappers because you were one day off. Thanks to your captain for showing it's not just about a charter.
Excellent video! Like the captain said, Sometimes you just aren't going to fill the cooler, That's why it's called fishing and not catching. The most important thing is, Everbody had a great time and shared a delicious meal. Thank you Viktor, My mouth is now watering!!😂👍
I can’t imagine getting hurt and not being able to fish for 4 months. I fish probably 300+ days a year (own two charter boats), fish bass tournaments, musky tournaments, ice fishing. I don’t know where I’d find the time for another hobby. Grew up fishing from the time I could walk. Started working on a small charter boat for Striped bass and mackerel at 13, and sold my soul for a 20 foot mako at 19, 23 years ago, which I still use exclusively as a Striper/mackerel charter, I still have it today, along with an Everglades 295, which we use for Tuna/blue shark/sturgeon charters, and Caymas 28 HB, which is my personal boat, but I also use during the busiest parts of the season as an exclusive family charter (I take it out when families want to rent a private boat, and don’t want to be on board with other strangers fishing for whatever reason). I’m looking at buying a bluefin tuna license from the man who gave me my first job, as he’s retiring, so I’m now looking at a 4th charter boat, a Regulator 37 or 41, specifically for that purpose. Just trying to decide if 4’ is worth the extra 300k. So yeah, you might say I’m obsessed. Good thing I put all that money in tech stocks in the late 90’s and eary 00’s! 401k’s they said! Get a real job, theres no money in sport fishing they told me! Stop wasting your time with foolishness! Only my dad was behind me. Follow your dreams, people. Took a lot of hard work, but my summers are fully booked, often a year in advance! My winters (Canada) are filled with trips south to hunt and fish, and some fantastic Canadian ice fishing with friends! The only thing I don’t really get much time for is bass tournament fishing, which I absolutely love. Next Summer I plan on only captaining for Tuna, and handing off the Everglade to my first mate to captain. He’s only 22, but I think he’s ready to take over. That will free me up until July 15, which is when our annual bluefin season starts. I can at least travel with my Ranger to do some opens. Hope the father-in-law gets well soon, and is able to fish to his maximum potential. I had no intention of writing such a long post, but a week of hard rain and heavy wind has me going completely stir crazy. Five days inside with no sunlight whatsoever.
if you need more help one the boats please let me know. id love to be deckhand on a charter boat. im in tampa, 20 years old and would love to learn and make a career out of this.
Another fine seafood entre' by Chef Vic at Landshark Indoors, you've learned so much over the last 2,2 years, very impressed as always. Love you and your family!!!
I know it was going to be good when I saw all that lump crabmeat, heavy cream, seasonings, etc, etc, over blackened fish, heck ya, like I said, resteraunt landshark INDOORS!!! THE BOMB!!!!!
Great stuff Vik. That pasta looks so rich but so damn good haha. Come out to Texas sometime for red snapper season! Moved here from FL last year and the numbers of snapper out here are unreal. Tons of em off FL too obviously, but still.
Just wanted to say how much I love your channel. I am from Ohio and a female so I have two things against me when it comes to saltwater fishing. The whole idea that you encourage Brooke to be a female fisherman makes me happy. I hope one day I can move down south and fish on my own.
Great family and friends video. Loved it as always. Was just remembering how much I used to cringe when you cooked. Cheap olive oil. Fake lime and limón juice….You’ve come a long way. I think you would have been a great Dr. but think you found your calling. Ps. Always blacken fish with butter 😀
Pro tip: when cooking large amounts of fish on a griddle like that place front to back. That way you can flip and remove the ones up front first. Makes life easier.
Some states its illegal to clean fish on the boat, because if you come back in with filets and a game warden decides to check you they dont know how large the fish was to begin with. Ive found mostly if you want to avoid game wardens go fishing overnight. Seems like most game warden encounters are during the day.
Man the boat i work on is at the same marina they’re great guys crazy that you were just a few boats down and i had no idea you fished with them the other day !
Hey Vic! Love the content! I'm about to get into SPJ and I noticed you have your reel handle on the left. I've always seen you fish conventionals on the right. Can you talk to me about your preferred setup? Also, do you like the wrapped eyes on the rod? Thanks man!
I went out with 3 others on Monday out of Destin. We smoked the Red Snapper. Started fishing a 7AM and had our 8 keeers by 8AM. I caught 4 of those myself. I'm going back out on the 24th when state waters are open. IMHO there isn't anything in the ocean better than a Red Snapper. Wish the government would pull it's head out of its rear and let the public catch a fair amount. They are far from over fished.
We have Yelloweye up here in Alaska that we call red snapper, and It is the best fish in our waters too lol. Next best would be our halibut and smoked salmon.

The cooking scene is literally how to be an American(heart attack) cook, just add a lot of cream cheese and butter, maybe some cheese too😂😂😂. As an American who is also international it’s actually pretty funny. I mean you do not need cream cheese on fish, especially an entire stick.
we usually go out of st George Island with a guide for red snapper and fill the boat with big boys in less than a full trip. Once you have catch a lot of big boys you don't mind going in a little early once you hit the limit because you're so worn out. What the heck is pickle ball?
similar to tennis
I see a giant ring on brook’s finger, not sure if it’s new but Congrats!
That’s amazing man, and that slow pitch combo looked beefy for that deeper water. What rod was that? My goofish can’t handle 500gram jigs well.

About how much d I d it cost to make that, with crabmeat, heavy cream, seasonings, all ingredients Vic? Guesstimate.

I wanna know how many bicatch red snappers get sharked every year. They are bigger than most snapper so it makes it impossible to get em in quick.
