    When you watch this as a kid you are inclined to root for the Bulldogs. As an adult years later, you notice other things: for instance, Nikolai and Zhukoff did an excellent job of selling moves throughout this match.

      Exactly what I thought, Zhukov was very agile and could take a high back drop at his size. Volkoff not so much, very strong but a bit sloppy.

    I wonder what was going on at 0:27... I have the feeling Nikolai was arguing with the ring announcer cause they forgot to let them do their 'singing of the Soviet national anthem' shtick.

    I watched both Dynamite and Davey when they started out. They started in Calgary with Stu Hart and Stampede Wrestling.

    • @Cashy__13
      @Cashy__13 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They both started in England. Bruce Hart scouted Dynamite during a match in England, told his Dad about him & they had him come over. It was Dynamite who told them about his cousin Davey, so on Dynamite’s recommendation they had Davey come over to Calgary too. In my opinion The Dynamite Kid is the greatest to ever lace up a pair of boots. He was light years ahead of everyone else. Imagine if he hadn’t been injured & the matches he could have had with a 90s version of HBK, even the 90s version of Bret. Could have also wrestled Angle & a prime Benoit…I could go on & on. 🧨

    Man you could tell the Bulldogs were almost gone. Everyone and their grandma was easily beating the Bolsheviks at this time and the Bulldogs only went over by countout in 15 minutes.

      Maybe, but they were also hugely over in Boston.. the crowd was loving every minute of it ! This was more in-line with a Bulldogs style match than the typical squashes of the time

    It’s funny how they sold Dynamite shoulder blocking guys 100lbs heavier off their feet!
    Although solid, 469lbs combined, Davey must have been a billed 250-260 of them. Dynamite probably 180-190 being billed around 220.
