This is one of my favourite games. It is really great, but yes its learning curve is super high. I have been murdered over and over and lost many a character to stupid decisions, mistakes, victim of circumstance.. etc. Might i suggest the Roleplay option instead of Classic because you seem to be a little frustrated and you should def try again with a little more padding. I got frustrated with classic to begin with and did well with it and moved back to Classic. I got this game from watching others play it and so maybe that made it a little easier since i had a bit of knowledge going in because i would have probably rage quit too. But the fact that this game has so much replay-ability is fantastic. Keep trying. it really is a great game once you figure out how to sprint my dude. @@malkavian6 I had sprint going for a moment there and then lost it 😅 imI aoore your encouragement! My plan is to come back to it once 1.0 has dropped! I feel that will be the best time to do so
It took me about 20 hours of gameplay before I really got a solid grasp of how to play and what to do. I've got about 350 hours in it now. It's really an incredible game once you get a proper feel for it.
You pointed out the log on the right in the beginning, but didn't really pay attention to it later on. I think that'll clear up a lot of confusion! Haven't tried Qud yet, but these sort of Roguelikes tend to throw tooons of info at you in those logs. Anytime you pass something of interest, the log will tell you what it is. If you hear or see something, the log will let you know. Try Nethack if you want one of the "classics", it's also much less complex at first. Just plain ol dungeon crawling :)
Nevermind you noticed during combat! I think what happened in the first adventure was (besides getting caught stealing :D) that you kinda auto-ran / moved to a new position really quickly. As these games are turn based, every time you moved, a whole bunch of actions happened. Best to take your time during combat. Keep in mind that anytime you move, everyone else does too. potentially even multiple actions if they're a lot "faster" than you.
@@Rocknoob49 I am definitely not used to traditional roguelikes 😅 I love roguelites, especially due to the much faster pace, so going slow is not my forte 😂 When 1.0 drops I'll need to stream it so hopefully I can get some help as I go through. I did not consider the fact of everyone else only moves when I move. That will really help the next time I try it!
hello the youtube algoritme recommend you to me so i watched your video i like it alot and keep going man ^^ i only would keep the intro alittle bit shorter for engagement

Coq is not a roguelite. Ita a rougelike. Its an OG representation of the genre.
That's my mistake. I am much more accustomed to saying roguelite at this point, and slipped up 😅
