I've never been sold on a car with advertisements or unveilings before, but this was brilliantly done. No flashy gimmicks, over-the-top graphics/visuals, just straight to the point: *_Here's our product, we hope you like it._* Always been skeptical toward electric vehicles as well, but I just might give it a go with this.
Jim Rowan has got to be one of the most engaging CEOs around! Loved the unveiling video. And having driven Volvos exclusively for over 25 years, I'm excited by where the company is going. And whilst I'm not quite ready to give up my V90 Cross Country D5 just yet, I know that when I move to an EV, it will certainly be a Volvo ♥️
EXactly, my XC90 lifestyle is enjoying my teardrop camper and the great outdoors. I would love this for my granddaughter when she's old enough to drive.
As long as the EX30 doesn't have a big price, I'm extremely interested. I wish more car companies focused on smaller EVs that incorporate sustainable materials like this.

The Volvo Marketing team have really improved in their quality and mode of presentation. I would really hope to meet the team and learn from them. One other presentation i loved was the one for the S90.
My aunt always got a Volvo growing up. She would tell us they are the most reliable sturdy cars. And now as an adult I can’t wait to get my first family vehicle from them.

Awesome reveal, er, unboxing. Loved the interaction between miniature and real size. The car: gorgeous exterior design. Innovative and pretty interior. The safety features sounds capable and promising, with one flat spot: touch controls and screen-based controls. Those require concentration and taking one's eyes off the road, the opposite of safety. Otherwise, love the new design direction of Volvo, a design that was already stunning handsome and timeless. This EX30 is going to be a huge hit in cities. Right size outside, roomy inside, stylish to the max, and plenty of range for an urban lifestyle.
In the EX30, the screen has a high position with the driver information placed at the top, allowing the driver to glance at it more easily compared to a traditional setup - their eyes don’t need to move too far from the road - Anthony
I have an XC40 Twin Recharge Ultimate due to end lease next Summer - this looks like the ideal replacement. Great video, well produced and well presented by the top man. The XC40 EV was my first Volvo in 45 years of driving, and I'm staying with it, well done. 😃
Great ad. The EX30 looks like an excellent vehicle. I hope it can play a part of reversing the trend toward ever larger vehicles on our roads and showing what is possible in a small package. Also hoping Volvo’s sister brand Polestar do a lux+performance small car using the same platform and small footprint ethos.

PERFECT presentation. I adore this theme and I think the car will be a great entry for prospective first-time Volvo buyers showcasing lower-cost EV tech. This is lovely!
One problem as the tech gets better NO BUTTONS!!! I mean, if you are driving alone you know you have AC controls right in the hand , you get a muscle memory But now one has to click on screen , isn't it more distracting, Volvo? Increasing accidents What we prefer is physical buttons + voice control not anyone alone.
Voice command doesn't require muscle memory.... Plus, most folks don't actually use muscle memory alone, they still glance at where their hand is going... and that's really all it takes to reach out to a screen too.

Click voice button (or say the activation phrase)... wait.. say your command (Lower volume)... wait. Still not low enough? Do it again. Say activation phrase, wait, tell it to lover volume.. wait.. and so on. With a knob.. reach out, turn, done in less than 60 milleseconds. Voice commands are highly over rated.
Looks really great and well sized for those of us with V40s and looking to stay with Volvo, although I am still surprised they didn't replace what was one of the best selling and most attainable Volvo's. An instrument panel looked very conspicuous by its absence, so I am guessing Volvo provide some way of monitoring your speed in the drivers line of sight via a HUD?
Our experience, backed up by a combination of research, data and expert knowledge, shows that driver distraction is more impacted by poor user interfaces than by the number or location of screens. Our internal research also shows that fewer screens can result in faster response times, and fewer missed cues - Anthony

Great campaign and loving the peak thus far. Currently own C30 R-Design ❤, was considering upgrading to XC-40 when it came out, the the C40 Recharge grabbed my attention; SO very glad I waited.

Recently purchased a CX40 T4 in New Zealand. Assembled in China. Very impressed with the quality, finish and refinement. As good as Audi and VWs I've had. It's hers, and she loves it! First Volvo for me in 50 years of owning too many cars!

It's finally been revealed! VOLVO EX30! The appearance of the first impression is very nice! Is the color 'cloud blue'? I like the video concept that shows the characteristics of the EX30 well! I'm really looking forward to the day I see it!
I absolutely love the presentation. It had me smiling the entire time. I can’t wait until this comes to America. This is the first EV that I’m going to buy, as well as my first Volvo.
Volvo offers LOTS of wagon options... the problem is no one orders them. As much as I want an EV wagon, it's hard to argue that it should be at the front of the line.
Nobody makes an EV wagon. The market has, sadly, spoken, and it's nearly all tall bloated crossovers and a few sports sedans from here on out. At least this Volvo is more compact than most (longer than Chevroley Bolt, shorter than Bolt EUV and the 2024 Kona EV).
Congratulations on the new vehicle and the fantastic presentation. The car looks really great and makes you want to take a test drive. The only thing I personally don't like is the display in the middle. Apparently that's modern now. I can't get on with these mounted monitors. But that is my personal taste.

My only gripe is the lack of physical buttons in the interior. Otherwise, a small (and hopefully affordable) EV is just what the market needs.
Totally agree with you. I do think the negatives I see so far, like the one you mentioned, don’t outweigh the positives of this small suv.
They're pushing voice commands but I agree with you.
I liked the fact that the interior is minimalist, but not to the point of being empty.

Yeah it's annoying that my xc40 has radio controls on the console and steering wheel, but no a/c controls.

Recently purchased a CX40 T4 in New Zealand. Assembled in China. Very impressed with the quality, finish and refinement. As good as Audi and VWs I've had. It's hers, and she loves it! First Volvo for me in 50 years of owning too many cars!

I have had so many problems with my 2022 XC60 Recharge that I am hesitant to be excited by this, though the marketing is clever.
I'm big fan of small cars and this is amazing. The presentation sells it even more.
The retraction of wagons means I’ll likely never own a Volvo.
Give us a V90 with the C40’s powertrain. I’d be first on the preorder list.
Volvo offers LOTS of wagon options... the problem is no one orders them. As much as I want an EV wagon, it's hard to argue that it should be at the front of the line.

Nobody makes an EV wagon. The market has, sadly, spoken, and it's nearly all tall bloated crossovers and a few sports sedans from here on out. At least this Volvo is more compact than most (longer than Chevroley Bolt, shorter than Bolt EUV and the 2024 Kona EV).

The only thing I personally don't like is the display in the middle. Apparently that's modern now. I can't get on with these mounted monitors. But that is my personal taste.
