Great list (not surprisingly); thanks for putting a lot of effort into it as always. A few that you didn't mention that I would certainly have on my list: Mucho Mistrust by Fake Fruit, No Hands by Joey Valence and Brae, Strange Burden by Font (this is an insane sleeper), What A Fucking Nightmare by The Chisel (did I just miss this somehow?), Tangk by Idles, Come and See by Gurriers, Songs Of A Lost Planet by The Cure. I also think that new Father John Misty is going to be a grower; the first track is almost overwhelmingly good, so I've struggled a bit to get into basically everything past that. The new Jack White is also VERY good...
as always, thank you for watching! i never listened to the fake fruit, joey valence and brae, gurriers, or FJM records, i’ll have to check them out. i liked the chisel record a decent bit, if i had expanded the honorable mentions it probably would’ve made it. i did not like the idles record tho, i haven’t been able to get into that band with their last few releases, which is crazy cause i love joy as an act of resistance. the fault with these videos is that even i forget some of the albums i liked, which sucks, cause i loved that font album!! literally forgot all about it, it should’ve been an honorable mention at the very least. i didn’t mention the cure earlier cause i’m still slowly going through their entire discography in order, so i’m gonna save their new record for when i get there. i liked jack white quite a bit, it was originally in my honorable mentions before the whirr record dropped. i keep forgetting to listen to the FJM, i’m gonna listen to it today
@@ForeverSpinning HAHA, CAN RELATE!!! I would have at least mentioned Where's My Utopia by Yard Act but forgot it was released in 2024. I will agree I've like the last two Idles albums less than what came before, but still really dig the entire discography. I actually knew of font because I saw them open for Yard Act and the sheer amount of sounds generated by such a small number of performers was staggering (much less that it was all coherent and amazing!). Similarly saw Protomartyr open for Idelas last year and they blew my socks off!
i wasnt crazy about the yard act record. i liked their debut quite a bit, but this one didn't stay in my rotation at all really. ill still definitely listen to whatever they do next, though. i had the opportunity to see font and i missed it! i was going to see DIIV that same night, but DIIV had van troubles and had to drop, so the venue recommended i see font across the street at a different venue. unfortunately, my friend wasn't down to go so we did something else... i regret that decision lol. 2025 is the year i get into protomartyr, i can feel it
