I can explain in my own language, which is greek, the word "saudade" . I searched the meaning on g.translate and I found exactly the meaning of this portuguese word.. it means that you terribly miss your home and you have a yearning and nostalgia (=greek word meaning> miss something terribly and also feel "pain" for that in a way)for your country 😁 I wish I described it as well as I could..

Hello again. Good video, thanks. On ATMs, I think they are a bit redundant. However, it really depends where you live. I live in Brussels and use cash a lot, as credit card payments are not really widely accepted apart from local debit cards (I think because small businesses dont want to pay CC charges and it is possibly a way to pay less taxes). Norway and Scandinavia are becoming cashless societies. I use my smartphone to make card payments and pay bills. I have seen people paying bills at ATMs here as well as in Portugal. I find that odd since you can use online banking on your PC or smartphone. Keep it up!

Try the beaches at Jæren in Rogaland, near Stavanger. The sand came through and filled my jogging shoes when walking on two of the long beaches there (boresanden and Brusanden). Also at Lista, which is closer to you, there are great beaches, but I have not seen them in person because I drove past further inland. How much water do they splash at you in those cinemas? 5:12 Snails are so nope to me! But, I must admit the only snail I have eaten was cooked on a rocky beach during a school trip. I had a bit of bias against it and no herbs was involved. I almost grossed out, but ate it in the end. We are beyond ATM's, we use the internet bank for all the stuff you mentioned. But, Norwegian ATM's are still the same as they were like 20 years ago, they are just fewer. I only visited one shopping mall when I was in Lisboa. It was the centro Vasco da Gama. I was there because I desperately needed sun lotion, my Nordic skin was so deep fried by that sun you miss.
BTW, a lot of echo on the sound in this video this time, or are my ears wrong?

    • @MonAmieDesserts
      @MonAmieDesserts  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Hey!! I'm sure there are amazing beaches in Norway that maybe resemble a bit more to the Portuguese ones, but here in Oslo, where I live, I don't have easy access to none of those 😣 Snails, of cooked properly, are delicious!!! You need to try them if you ever go to Lisbon! My microphone is currently not working properly so yes, the sound is not the best... I'm trying to fix that asap ☺️☺️

There are some fish markets in coastal towns and cities. (The one in Stavanger is worth checking out, btw.)
Meat markets, however, seem to be a bit more of a rarity.
ATMs are going extinct in Norway, mostly due to people using cash a lot less, and pay in shops using cards instead.
The law still requires merchants to accept cash (some have started breaking the law by declining cash payments, unfortunately),
but there will still always be those who insist on withdrawing cash to do their shopping.
As for the sun, sure, it must be nice to sit on a bench in Frognerparken or on Aker Brygge, enjoying a thermos of chilled bagaço. :)

I don’t think you will have any problems. Hotels, rental cars, transport and tourist destinations is not a problem. Hei Halla Hallo Mon guess what Norwegians LOVE dogs there are amazing dogs you can get here...weather is rubbish in Norway...Norwegians love warm places and you're welcome here Mon of course because Norwegians are welcoming people. I love Norway but interesting video and I am interested on visiting Portugal some time when I can after this Covic 19 dies down. Not going to lie Mon you've sold Portugal to me...as a holiday for sure...but I love Norway because I was born here and the land has a deep meaning to me and my family and ancestors. BUT woe Portugal sounds great...there's these Log cabin restaurants along the coast of ...s-snails...eh...um... after this covic dies down because it's quite bad right now unfortunately...had 5 patients die yesterday...on of them was my age and looked like me. :( Restaurants I recommend are Restaurant Fjord, Arakataka and maaemo. Fish markets are best fish markets are Fishmarket in Bergen, Fish Me Fishmarket in Bergen and Al Fiskehall in Oslo...we have Sitron-Te which is Lemon tea and Bakeriet i Lom in Prestfossen...Mon their cinnamon rolls are just...OMR(Oh My Rolls) they are just fantastic...4X Cinemas are a developing plan but here in Norway we cherish energy saving solutions too for the environment because even an old Norse text warned of global warming. I mean can you believe that the beautiful Fjords used to be glaciers? Now look at them...they're destroyed...but I hear you Norway's developing teams need to pay attention to Portugal clearly...hummmm...interesting...the one thing I miss about Norway is during the modernization of it the culture seems to be falling. For example there are really rich Norwegians that don't help the poorer ones. And of course there are ones that do. There are Norwegians that don't be active enough. 1/5 Norwegian woman are unfit according to statistics. Our skiing team came 5th from 1st.The football team have not qualified for internationals. We lack ventilators at hospitals in the Finmark region. The Finmarks are treated as secondary people in working environments...But overall I see most people changing for the better and improving the land. Honestly Mon there's BIG developing plans for Norway...I can't say too much but there's going to be better communication services in Norway too...you're right thoe Norway needs to develop and you know what even Prince, next and soon to be king Haakon may he be in greatest health and his family-has even said 'We will focus on developing the land more and focused on development projects.' So overall honestly Mon you're not alone here yes!!!! :)

Todos os portugueses temhan saudade. Por isso os portugueses cantaram fados, nao e?
By the way. as a snail-lover you should really look for "strandsnegler" as we call them in Norway.. I shall not recommend any beach along Oslofjorden, at least not any too close to Oslo. I do not know if there are Norwegians that eat such snails, but they are hugely popular among snail loving foreigners. Try Deøbak.
    Aquele bebida?

If you miss Portugal so much, why don't you move back? By the way, atm is both old fashioned and a security risk. Use your phone. It is safer and more practical.

Just because she misses Portugal it doesn't mean she doesn't enjoy or even prefer living in Norway.

roedoeye really, a phone is safer thana ATM in what way? Man you have no idea what you talking about, ATM system in Portugal is the most sophysticated in the world, many countries all over the world copied that system.
The Caixa Automático Multibanco (Multibanco ATM) was the first project developed by SIBS and started operating on September 2, 1985, with the installation of 12 terminals in the cities of Lisbon and Porto.[3]
In 1995, the network had 3,745 ATMs; in 2006 had more than 11,200; and as of December 2014 it had 12,700, on which an average of more than 75 million operations are made every month.
Multibanco is known for having more functionality than standard ATMs in other countries.Initially, the machines only offered withdrawal of cash, checking of balances and checking of recent transactions. Later, features such as service and shopping payments, Prepaid mobile phone top-up and show ticket sales, among others, were introduced. Nowadays, 60 different services are offered by the Multibanco network.

The moment you get in touch with the portuguese ATM system, all ATMs in the world would be seen as very primitive. In an ATM here you can even buy a license to fish or pay a parking fine for example.

@@ruisilva2123 why not buy a license to fish or pay for a parking fine via internet banking? Why do you prefer having to go outside your house to do those things? I moved from Brazil (where ATM is still a big thing) to the Netherlands and have never missed using an ATM. I can do everything using my mobile phone or my PC. Even paying a fishing license :)
