As a Portuguese living abroad, your video make me feel very proud and nostalgic about my country and I truly hope everyone who visit the country, share the same opinion. Thank you for choose Portugal as your home, and even more to share with the work your experience.
Jose, when I visited Lisbon it just felt so warm! I've lived in the countryside all my life but if I had to live in a city it would be Lisbon. Maybe because so many people there still have country roots, but it's definitely a place where everyone feels at home :)
@@Chahlie It is funny you said that because when I ask someone if is "Lisboeta" (Lisbon's citizen) they always evoque the town where they born and lived the chilhood in the answer even they left those home towns more than 50 years ago. Only new generation assumes Lisboeta as a identity.
@Lovely_Day I hope you have that opportunity soon and I am quite sure that you'll enjoy it. The Portuguese people are known for their hospitality and kindness and Portugal for the wines, dishes, weather and lifestyle (all with an affordable price)... I think the ingredients for a unforgettable trip are all there. 😉
Hi guys, I'm from Portugal and I'm from Lisbon. I think that you are fantastic and i really feel happy that you like to live in my town and my country. I feel very pleased for your kind words. I hope that in 25 years you still live in Portugal look back and say that moving to Lisbon was the best decision of your lifes and that you want to get old in Portugal and that meanwhile you feel that you have two hearts, an american and a portuguese. Please do me a favor and feel at home in Portugal.
@ mochilascostas - Wow! That is such a kind comment you left for us! Like we said in the video - the number one thing about Portugal is how welcoming everyone is - your comment just proved our point! :) Thank you so much for your kind words! We love your country and are so grateful that we've gotten to meet so many kind and generous people here! :)
@@getagava2912 Now is my turn to say wow, thanks a lot for your kind words. Actually I think that I'm quite normal and that there a lot of people in Portugal like me or better, of course not all in 10 million we have also our share from assholes but generally speaking I think that we are ok. On the other hand that couple is so sweet that they just deserve all possible nice words. I really hope that they keep loving to live in Lisbon/Portugal and that they get old here, we need such nice people like them.
I'm smiling at the fact that you've chosen to have your two sweet daughters go to a Portuguese-speaking school. I love that! What better way to learn a language, than to be submerged in it! Soon, they'll be teaching you! Doce!
as a Portuguese living in Seattle over 35 years. I am very proud that you for chosing Portugal your home. I am hoping to return to Portugal for good myself in 4 or 5 years keep up with the good work
I was born in Portugal now live in Florida USA, I am from the north center Portugal, Coimbra district, my wife is from Almada just south of Lisbon, over the bridge from you literally (right behind Christ Redemptor Statue )...Please stop telling everyone about our country...It was a well kept secret for so long...Love the videos. Great content...I will look for you next time I visit.
@Backcountry Enthusiast for one hand, but for another tourism and foreigners also help our economy, beside every portuguese has in its blood a will to know other cultures and is always so amazing to chat with foreign people and meet the differences, it's really enrichment.
Hi Carlos. Do you think I have any chance in Portugal as an Algerian woman speaking three lgs : arabic french and english. Will appriciate if you tell me your opinion.
@GotWood? Bushcraft and more just because you don't see other reasons doesn't mean there isn't... maybe Portugal is just not your type of country if there is such a thing, and you should keep looking if you think in moving someday...
Starlos Zelson I’m a African American Historian and that is true they did start and were the leaders in the slave trade. Like the French they have stolen and take a lot of money out of Africa to this day because they have know natural resources in there country. I am black male and I’ve been living in Bangkok, Tokyo, and Singapore. I’ve made my decision to live in Singapore due to the quality of living, the environment, fresh air, no crime, clean streets, friendly people, and they speak English. It’s expensive, but I can afford it.
I know what you two are talking about. I was raised and spent my whole childhood in Lisbon. It‘s a great and a very tolerant cosmopolitan City, a city that will always connect and be attached to you wherever you go. Me, my Wife and our Little daughter are planning to move back to Portugal, after 23 years in Germany. Although it‘s sometimes underrated, Portugal is in my opinion the best Country in Europe. Wish you and your Family all the best. Cheers
My wife and I quit out jobs last year. With our stock market investing and real estate investing combined we should see you guys in Portugal in the next 3 to 4 years.
Id like to move to Portugal too, Australia is getting out of hand with prices going up; but I am on a pension so I think the Australian Govt cuts your pension if you live overseas.
We are on a parallel path! Sold our house in Berkeley and have been renting in Lisbon for about a month. My wife has a D7 visa; ande will eventually go for citizenship (thru her grandparents); the process took quite a while, but it was not too complicated. All your reasons ring exactly true for us, the culture, the people, the safety, the cost of living and quality of life. It's gratifying to see so many people in process or even considering the same. We just finished an intensive Portuguese house at ICLP at the University of Lisbon (are you looking at that?), so can recommend it -- it *is* intensive, and Portuguese is *definitely* a difficult language, but the teachers are very good.
WOW! Sounds like we are on the same path. And thanks sharing class recommendation. We have a private tutor that is awesome but we'll check out your recommendation also.
When I lived in Portugal, for 3 months, I felt at home very quickly as well. I noticed it within a couple of weeks. At the end of my time I knew that somehow I had to make it my home one day too.
I wish a comment could express the the gratitude and importance of the life changing impact you are making. Truly inspiring and will be forever etched in our family's legacy. Lifetime our rich journey follower. Keep up the good work!!
Wow, Marlon! That is incredibly kind comment! Thank you so much! We really appreciate your gratitude and positivity. It makes us so happy to know that you're feeling inspired by our videos! :)
This is so great. My friends just did the same thing. They live near the beach (somewhere(?) Portugal) in a fully decked out - fully paid for, customized camper. They literally gave away everything in their 3 story home before leaving. They blessed so many people in our community before they left. Anyway, I really enjoy your videos. Thanks for showing people that a life far bigger and beyond the "American Dream" is truly obtainable.
that can be from north to south hehe, the cost follow all one sideline of portugal and south line xD, and even from the interior you'll never be to far from a couple hours till arrive some beach
I referred your channel to my kids, currently in their late 20's. I have watched your channel over the last year and I think your information is current, personal, and interesting. Thanks and best wishes!
Hi Nelson! Thank you so much for being in our video and representing the beauty, kindness and diversity of Lisbon/Portugal. It was so nice to meet you and your friends. Hopefully I will see you guys again. You can also reach out to me via Instagram.
I LOVE THIS!!! (Sorry for shouting. 😂) I’m a little surprised at just how happy this video made me. You answered questions I didn’t know I had. Please keep up the AMAZING job the two (four?) of you are doing. The information you provide is sooooo helpful.
OMG! I LOVE YOUR COMMENT!!!!!!! (I apologize because I am also shouting!!!). Your comment totally made me smile - LOVE the positive energy we're getting from your comment! Isn't it amazing how people can send kindness to others just through comments? GinaFromPasadena (I also love your username) - YOU ARE AWESOME (and I'm not going to apologize for shouting that! LOL!)!!!
Wow~ I'm convinced! I will definitely plan on visiting Portugal soon! Japan and Portugal seem like two awesome places to live and especially eat delicious food! So cool you guys got a chance to live in both places!
Now THAT tax incentive is just AMAZING! We just moved to Colombia and we were told told that the there may be a new Digital Nomad visa but I haven’t seen any movement on it yet. This is so great - wonderful video and I love the hair cut Christina!
I love it! We live in Medellin between the low-cost, kind people, relaxed lifestyle and fruit that isn't covered in pesticide, I can't be happier. They would have to drag me back to the States, kicking and screaming!
not having to tip everywhere you go like in the US would also save you a huge amount of money! :) When you tip in Lisbon, they really appreciate it and remember to your preferences!
You don't have to tip in US. Thanks to people who continuously do it, the servers expect it. It is not required. I still only do it based on the service. I refuse to allow them to make me feel as if it's required.
You do tip sometimes in Portugal, my family used to leave 50 cents up to 2 euros for a good meal, nothing if the staff were rude. But we don't tip everywhere, that would be ridiculous, its mostly a kindness actually.
Starlos Zelson I’m an American. The US enslaved people of African descent for centuries. If I applied your logic, I couldn’t live or travel ANYWHERE. There is, sadly, no country where one group of people has not disenfranchised or subjugated another. However, neither my body nor my mind is in chains.
I visited Portugal /Lisbon in 2017. I was so touched by the friendly people that I decided this is the country I would love to retire. All what you guys are saying I personally experienced. Good luck on your journey!
Wow, you convinced me and I already live there!LOL Thank you! I would add to the list the weather, the food and the wine!!!! You are very welcome here, I hope it becomes everything you expected.
There's some really good looking people there. You guys fit right in! The more I watch this channel, I'm starting to realize that you two are what " got it figured out" looks like.
You make me smile. I'm an American living in Belgium. I visited Lisbon and Sintra and loved it. Everything you said is true. Good seafood. The salted cod(I'm not even going to try to spell it) the sardines, the wine, the beauty of the country, the diversity of the people, weather, and I must admit, I love the cheesy fado music. Who knows, maybe when I retire, I'll move there, as with Belgian nationality, shouldn't have a problem living there. I'd just have to learn the language. When I was there, it wasn't easy to ask for directions in English. More of the older people speak French as a second language, so I could get by. But, what a beautiful country. I now want to visit Porto!
Love you two! My husband and I are quite a bit older than the two of you but are planning to come to Portugal in early 2021 with the intent to possibly stay. Really enjoy the pros and cons! Happy July!
My bestie and I visited Portugal 9 years ago. We stayed in Sintra and fell in love with this storybook village! We also visited Lisbon and had a wonderful time there! I totally understand why you chose Lisbon and hope to take my hubby in the next year or two! You have such a beautiful family and wishing you all many blessings!
@Dias06 You should do some study before talking. It is still free when it comes to being able to express ones self. It is also free when it comes to starting a business which is why it is economically successful. It is just as safe as Europe when you are outside the poorer areas of major cities. As far as paid vacation, companies offer paid vacation in competition with other countries to get good workers instead of having government force itself on employers.
Isn't it fine as long as you have a car, don't take a turn into the wrong neighbourhood, get in an argument with someone who is packing or get gravely ill while you are not gainfully employed.
Yous guys are on fire! On a whole other level than the rest of the FIRE people! Never even considered all these drastical choices before. Now FIRE seems even closer than before. Thanks for the video!
Thank you so much! And we're so glad you found us. Please dont hesitate to ask us any questions or to request a video exploring a subject. Thanks again :-)
Thank you for choosing Portugal, it's a great honor for us, please feel welcome here and i wish that all your family makes good friends and lives very happy lifes!
This looks amazing. We are getting to retirement in a more traditional way, but would very much like to retire in Europe, especially given how nuts the US is getting. Also, I have found Portuguese pretty easy--it's my favorite language!
If I was allergic to shellfish, I would retire to Portugal also. Lol. Looks like an amazing life. I haven’t decided where I want to retire, but I’m Canadian and don’t want to shovel snow in retirement. I want a place where the coldest it gets is sweater weather.
Canadian here too and I LOVE the Silver Coast of Portugal. It’s much more affordable than Lisboa but close enough (especially to Canadians who think nothing about getting in the car to drive 45 minutes)... the people are really lovely (kind, humble, helpful and sweet) and the best part... NO SNOW. It really is a great life. Visit Portugal. Drive up and down the coast. You’ll see 🤗❤️🇵🇹
We have a very various gastronomy, so even if you were allergic to shellfish you wuold have plenty to choose from :) and if you're Canadian i think you would adapt pretty easily, i know portuguese people that live there and we have many similarities and get along well, but definitely not so cold, and only snow normally in winter in higher places like mountains, from center to south that's very rare if it ever happens.
Good info, but you did not have to remind me that my cost of living in the SF Bay Area is high. Thanks for the added motivation, Lol! But like you guys I am planning my escape to Lisbon and can’t wait.
Wife and I are in the bay ourselves. I feel your pain. We have cheap rent for the bay. We plan to just stack and relocate when we have enough for permanent home some where cheaper.
Great video! Panama under its Pensionado Program does not charge any taxes on foreign earned income to include retirement income. Not to mention they gave all kinds of discounts to retirees in just about everything. Panama is consistently ranked the top 1,2 or 3 places in the world to retire. I mention this because it was mentioned in your video that you knew if now other country that gave such a tax break and there no 10 year time-limit, one is never taxed or foreign earned or retiree income in Panama 🇵🇦! None the less, an amazing video! The Health care info was a big eye-opener! I will continue to watch and support your channel
I have a second home in Lisbon, Portugal and my mother will be moving to Portugal full-time soon. I truly miss my home there and can't wait to spend the holidays in Lisbon next month!
@@ShankaraOm My mother is so happy being "stuck" in Portugal. I will come in late June. I need a break from the US right now. I am looking forward to my low-key Portuguese summer.

@ Red Pill prime - Too funny! LOL! Can we print this comment out and save it for when our girls go through the stage when they're embarrassed by us and want to be left alone?! LOL!
Thank you, so much, for this video! My husband and I visited Portugal last summer (2018) because we are interested in moving there. we absolutely loved it and traveled to the south as well. We can confirm your account of the diversity, cost of living, and abundance of things to do. We hope to join you in Lisbon soon!
Puts a smile on my face to see you all doing so well! I had a really similar experience when I first moved to Germany. Most European countries you can get around with limited language knowledge. The fact that you are trying to learn their language really impresses most people you interact with and they will have patience with you. Number 6 is so important. The quality is really important. Glad it worked out for you all!
Hi guys! I'm Portuguese and living in Lisbon. I'm really glad that you are enjoying Portugal that much and I'm so glad to see that some sistems actually work in here. It's a really positive thing for us. I hope you also enjoy the rest of the country because we have amazing places to see throughout . Have fun and welcome to Portugal
Thank you so much. We are loving your city and plan to visit all of Portugal. There is so much to see and do and we'll be sure to share it on our channel so that other are aware of how wonderful the rest of Portugal is. Thanks again!
Thank you so much for this! 🙏🏻😊....I am planning on moving there in 2-3 years! I look forward to all of your videos! Very beautiful couple with so much information to share! 💜🌸😊
I was convinced from the 1st Portugal video that I watched on your channel, but I'm continuing to binge watch the rest of the Portugal vids because of the excellent quality and content. I hadn't considered Portugal at all but have placed it high on my travel bucket list. Thank you so much for ALL of your amazing content!
As a native Portuguese speaker and as someone that lived in the US, learning the local language is a huge advantage because you can integrate yourself and your family in the community faster. Good luck to you guys in your new endeavor!
Congratulations on retiring early. Haven't been watching your videos for the last 3 months. But good to hear you got what you manifested. God bless !!!
You guys are so encouraging🌟 I want to relocate with my daughter but I guess I’m waiting until I’m over financially free, and not so afraid. You didn’t know anyone and that is a awesome I know that we can do this.
This was very inspiring, thank you so much for making this video! I too am working towards financial independence and want to live abroad as well. And thanks for the book suggestions!
Gheesh... It's about time. You guys are killing me. Lol. Once again I have to wait until the Mrs get home but I'm definitely looking to seeing this video. I going to hit that LIKE button before I even watch video because I know I'm going to love this. Lol. I seen taxes and health care so I know it's a MUST see. Lol
Amazing, so happy you are adapting so well to my country. Portugal is small, but beautiful. You should also take some time to visit the rest of the country. Great places, great people and great food. Love your videos!
Thank you...and yes we have some trips planned this week. Going to stay on the Region then start to explore more over the next couple of months. Please share any recommendations you have.
@@OurRichJourney you should definitely go to Porto and take a boat trip in the Douro river. Drink some Porto wine and eat a Francesinha! Once in Porto also go to Ribeira, rent some bikes and explore the beaches and the cost both to Matosinhos and Gaia. It's a nice bike ride :) Also in the north, you can also wander around Braga, Guimarães, Gerês. It's all very close, so it's great to spend some days exploring these places. More to the south: Sintra is very beautiful, the beaches at Cascais / Costa da Caparica / Setúbal (Troia) are great. Alentejo definitely worth a visit, both the coast and some inner cities like Beja or Évora. Great beaches at Algarve as well. If you guys are not vegetarian, you can eat awesome fish at Matosinhos and Setúbal. Great meat mostly at the north. Portugal is also a great doorstep to Europe. Getting a PT citizenship in the future (I believe you need 6 years in the country) might be a great and valuable asset :) Have fun!
Moxie - thanks so much for checking out our channel! We're so happy you found us! :) Deciding to live abroad was one of the best decisions we've ever made! :)
Love the channel! Congrats on achieving FIRE and retiring in Portugal! You're a great family! A true example of how the life should be lived. I'm 1/3 towards my own FIRE and you keep me motivated to go further. Thank you for all the work you do sharing your story.
Congrats to you two for choosing Portugal to retire. I think you are not going to ever regret that decision. It’s a wonderful country, with wonderful friendly people, wonderful and stunning beaches, gorgeous countryside, villages, castles, churches, colorful and fun festivals, so much to see and do, all that you said, and a few more things, like the great food so fresh and healthy, and the wonderful bright sun and blue sky so many days of the year. I am Portuguese, born and raised in Lisbon, and I welcome you to my city and country! I live in the US over 20 years now, and I know too well what you compared here. Your video is very well done. I still hope to retire in Portugal one day too! 🙂
I visited Lisbon last year and I am not surprised you chose it. It is an amazing place. There was a sense of peace I felt while I was there. Can't wait to retire outside of America one day.
Im FIRE for last 7yrs and currently in Thailand. Here they are now doing there best to repel westerners. Im now looking to move on and the tax treatment there seems attractive. Will be looking in2 this further. Cheers.
Found y’all from a news clip! I went to Lisbon last year and loved it! I’m planning to move to Spain in next few years, especially since I’m more familiar with Spanish than Portuguese. Congrats to y’all!! 💜💜💜
Hey Amon and Christina, I am doing great here ! Now that you are in Portugal, I hope you will do some European centric money saving , house hacking and side hustles tips!
Congratulations on making the move , just wanting to wish you well in all your endeavors . Just retired myself ,and while I haven't thought about leaving the U.S. ,you have given much food for thought , God Bless You and your family .
Thank you so much for this video as my husband and I have been contemplating on moving to Portugal in the near future. We have been twice so far and we fell in love with it. It seems even more appealing. very insightful video. ☺️
Thank you! We took several trips and did a lot of research before coming. A lot of what we found confirmed that is was best country for us. And so we moved here with no doubts :-)
I am portuguese and it is so nice to see Portugal on the “map”.. we are such a small country and sometimes forgotten. Some people still think we are Spain 😂 Although we are a small country we have so much to offer like you said. Our people, our food, our facilities, everything. I lived in the UK for 5 years and had to come back to Portugal. Nothing beats Home! I hope you feel like HOME. Welcome to our small but amazing and beautiful land. 😍❤️

Hey. Thanks again for such a great video. Do you have a video on retiring early from the government and the penalties involved? Or better yet how to work around the penalties for deferring your retirement? If you didn't defer can you share what you did?
WOW! You guys are totally selling me on Portugal. Like someone else in the comments said, you guys said start a service for US ex-pats looking to retire in Portugal. It would made people more comfortable to have someone who has done it hold their hand though the process. I would trust the two of you to guide me ; D
This is awesome man I'm so expired I love it y'all have me fired up to hustle at a 10000 % wow I'm trying to tell family is in New Orleans wow I'm about to cry I'm so joyful for you all
Came looking for financial tips and insights on living in Portugal, found a wholesome beautiful video. The faces part was very beautiful and you are a very nice couple, it was nice to see this video in between the constant stressful stuff we see in the media the whole day. Thank you!
It would be nice if you could give more details such as minimum required income/pension, your rental cost, health insurance cost etc. Nice introduction Video.
Hi guys ! My wife and I are happy we found you guys on youtube . We are looking to retire in Lisbon or the general area of Lisbon in the next couple years . My name is Timothy Smith and my wife's name is Carol . We are from New Orleans and really dig food , so Lisbon looks like not only economical but great for foodie's ! We have lived in Breckenridge , Colorado , (5 years ) Guanacaste , Costa Rica (5years ) and the past 7 years in Florida mostly in Sarasota . Our son's are 20 and 17 now . We own our home here in Sarasota ,but we love the European lifestyle . My wife lived in Italy for 3 years before we met . We have friends in France , Swiss Alps and the UK . We took a month long vacation a couple years ago with our son's . To Paris, France , Pisa & Florence , Italy , Prague, Czech Republic . We found Paris and Italy way too warm now to relocate there . I did see Lisbon had some very hot days last summer , but for the most part the weather is some of the best in Europe . I am a 60 year young certified Personal Trainer a professional photographer and my wife is a Physical Therapy Assistant and 52 years young . We are both fit and want to live the European lifestyle in our retirement . We love jumping on the metro or biking to get fresh fruit in open air markets and great meals and amazing culture . In a environment that is both safe and affordable . And lets be honest the US is not the place to live if that lifestyle is your dream anymore . We will look over your video's and get caught up with your adventure's and advice . Hopefully the world will open up very soon when we have a vaccine for COVID-19 . My wife and I will be coming to Lisbon as soon as that happens . Maybe we can buy you guys some coffee or dinner when we arrive there ? Sorry for being so long winded but we are excited to be able to dream about our future again . We have been in a holding pattern with the virus where dreams can die . Take care , and be safe .
Autstanding vídeo, thank vou. Im in Lisbon since january 2019, as a brazilian i can see many cultural similarities. I love Portugal and the diversity that exists in this country with such a long history. Abraços e até logo
If I understand the meaning of latte, it would be express coffee with milk, which in Portugal is callled café com leite, or meia de leite. The normal price of this, in simple cafés and away from tourist areas varies from 90 cents to one euro. An expresso coffee, on the other hand, costs around 60 cents. It has no milk.
Visited Lisbon two years ago and the people were sooo sweet and welcoming. Definitely would love to live there one day :) The level of English shocked me the most though even the elderly we met were fluent.
Yes! The level of English is quite shocking, isn't it? By far, this is the number one country that we've traveled to that speaks the most English. It's so easy to get around!
Congrats guys. We are Brazilians and we decided for USA 20 years ago. Well, Portugal is beautiful and with great people. We know your fears and expectations, just keep going. Our best wishes for you.
Hello guys, I just stumbled upon your video. You're obviously a level headed and sensible couple, who researched really well, it's lovely to hear a good story for a change. I'm happy for you and your children. ♥️ Regards from Dorset England

mochilascostas that is unbelievable, that there is still nice people left on this planet. Wow , GOD BLESS PORTUGAL!!!💙🧡💜
@@mochilascostas Never been to Portugal but watching this and reading your comment has pushed it right to the top of my list!
As a portuguese from Braga, welcome to our country
Thank you Filipe!
Nice 👍
I'm smiling at the fact that you've chosen to have your two sweet daughters go to a Portuguese-speaking school. I love that! What better way to learn a language, than to be submerged in it! Soon, they'll be teaching you! Doce!
Aww... thank you so much ❤️. And the girls love their new school. They've made so many friends and are learning Portuguese fast.
@Luan Santos Not really, I'm Portuguese and I've heard it being used figuratively as well
as a Portuguese living in Seattle over 35 years. I am very proud that you for chosing Portugal your home. I am hoping to return to Portugal for good myself in 4 or 5 years keep up with the good work
You two are GLOWING. We are all so happy for you.
Aww, thank you so much! We feel so happy to be here. We love it here so much - so peaceful! :) Thank you so much for your kind words!
Haha! Maybe we should shut down the Portugal videos! Hehe! Thanks for watching Carlos!
GotWood? Bushcraft and more Sweden is very beautiful and secure!
These two are friggin amazing!
What a sweet comment!!!! Thank you sooooo much! :)

Ali Hassan didn’t the Portuguese start the Atlantic slave trade and brought millions of Africans to work in plantations in Brazil
@@starloszelson4541 So did the entire world back then. Especially the US.
Starlos Zelson I doubt people living in Portugal today were part of the slave trade.
Cheers
Já é tempo de voltarem a casa haha:)
Portugal is certainly my favorite and I've been to a lot of European countries!

Mas infelizmente como seres humanos que somos, uma vez que abandonamos a casa, nunca mais regressamos a casa da maneira em que a deixamos. Ou seja as influências e experiências adquiridas no estrangeiro, tornam-se também partes de nós!
My wife and I quit out jobs last year. With our stock market investing and real estate investing combined we should see you guys in Portugal in the next 3 to 4 years.
Congrats! Cant wait to see you guys here :-)
Id like to move to Portugal too, Australia is getting out of hand with prices going up; but I am on a pension so I think the Australian Govt cuts your pension if you live overseas.
Robin Lee it’s already expensive
My Husband and I are working on the 5yr OR LESS PLAN! Just Retired @ 57 yrs young!
What’s your FI number for Portugal??
That is great! Thanks for sharing :-)
Go ahead Jen, follow your dream.
aww *hugs* you're always welcome to come back!
Thank you! And yes the world is so big and wonderful..so why limit your dreams 😀♥️. Thanks for the great note.
that can be from north to south hehe, the cost follow all one sideline of portugal and south line xD, and even from the interior you'll never be to far from a couple hours till arrive some beach
I referred your channel to my kids, currently in their late 20's. I have watched your channel over the last year and I think your information is current, personal, and interesting. Thanks and best wishes!
Aww... thank you so much for sharing our channel ♥️

Japan and Portugal seem like two awesome places to live and especially eat delicious food! So cool you guys got a chance to live in both places!
Thank you! And yes both countries are awesome!
Now THAT tax incentive is just AMAZING! We just moved to Colombia and we were told told that the there may be a new Digital Nomad visa but I haven’t seen any movement on it yet. This is so great - wonderful video and I love the hair cut Christina!
Yes - that tax incentive is incredible! :) And you noticed the hair cut - you're too sweet!
Eugene Lau no tips in Portugal (only if you want) the workers have a salary. :)
Agreed. That last time I tipped 10% in PT, the server walked me to the door to say goodnight
OKAY... You guys just put Lisbon on my 2020 travel wish list!
I'm surprised more people don't know about this place! :) It can't remain a secret for too long! :)
right! goals!
Thanks will visit maybe see u guys😉
Nedega Dolma didn’t the Portuguese start that trans Atlantic slave trade
Thank you so much for the love and welcoming us to your beautiful country. And YES...weather, food and wine are AMAZING!
There's some really good looking people there. You guys fit right in! The more I watch this channel, I'm starting to realize that you two are what " got it figured out" looks like.
Aww, you are too kind! Thank you!
I’m inspired by your journey! You’ve earned every moment of bliss you’re getting. Hard work and a plan pays off!
Thank you so much.
Such a beautiful place! Your husband will love it! :)
Anyone surprised that the USA ranks so horribly in practically everything? Such an embarrassment.
But gdp wise USA is at top for the past century 😃
@Dias06
Much more unsecured than 3rd world countries.😪
@Dias06 You should do some study before talking. It is still free when it comes to being able to express ones self. It is also free when it comes to starting a business which is why it is economically successful.
It is just as safe as Europe when you are outside the poorer areas of major cities.
As far as paid vacation, companies offer paid vacation in competition with other countries to get good workers instead of having government force itself on employers.
Isn't it fine as long as you have a car, don't take a turn into the wrong neighbourhood, get in an argument with someone who is packing or get gravely ill while you are not gainfully employed.

OK I just added Portugal to my list of must visit countries. Thanks for all the great info.
You're going to visit and not want to leave...so be prepared to stay :-)
This looks amazing. We are getting to retirement in a more traditional way, but would very much like to retire in Europe, especially given how nuts the US is getting. Also, I have found Portuguese pretty easy--it's my favorite language!
Awesome! Thank you so much!
If I was allergic to shellfish, I would retire to Portugal also. Lol. Looks like an amazing life. I haven’t decided where I want to retire, but I’m Canadian and don’t want to shovel snow in retirement. I want a place where the coldest it gets is sweater weather.
Lisbon might be for you, then! :) No need for a heavy parka and you definitely won't be shoveling snow! :)

Hard times of pandemic, but we will be able to get through
Great video!

Just got back from there yesterday...amazing country!
YES! It really is :-)
Puts a smile on my face to see you all doing so well! I had a really similar experience when I first moved to Germany. Most European countries you can get around with limited language knowledge. The fact that you are trying to learn their language really impresses most people you interact with and they will have patience with you. Number 6 is so important. The quality is really important. Glad it worked out for you all!
So happy this video makes you smile! :) Thank you for sharing that with us!!! :) We also love Germany - we got engaged there! :)

It's a nice bike ride :)
Also in the north, you can also wander around Braga, Guimarães, Gerês.
Getting a PT citizenship in the future (I believe you need 6 years in the country) might be a great and valuable asset :)
Have fun!

Congrats on your move 👏 👏. Much success to you and your beautiful family🙏🙏
Thank you so much!
Autstanding vídeo, thank vou. Im in Lisbon since january 2019, as a brazilian i can see many cultural similarities. I love Portugal and the diversity that exists in this country with such a long history. Abraços e até logo
The part where you showed the diverse faces was so beautiful. Absolutely loved it!!!
Thank you! Yes....it so amazing and beautiful :-)
Thank you!
That's because we have english since the 5th grade. And now kids starts earlier.
Thanks for educating all of us on this wonderful country! Never knew all this, but now I have a new appreciation for Portugal.
Hope that one day I can find a partner and build the courage to leave this bogus country
We'll be rooting for you :-)
Why wait? If you are courageous, just go. If you need someone to hold your hand, well, you're stuck and you are the bogus one.
King Neil if you’re a male that likes females I’ll go ahead and raise my hand! 29 years old and single lol! 😆
