It seems the only thing that all these “virtual earth” games have in common is they don’t exist but are definitely a real thing that’ll happen. Eventually.
i immediately thought of Second Life when i heard this. but the difference between this and Second life is everything. Second Life really isn't a "game" per se, but a sandbox. You really can do basically anything within the limitations of the game, which allows you to write your own scripts, create your own models, import textures, and get extraordinarily creative. This has none of that
Imagine paying for virtual land in an fictional simulation with real money when you can use the same assets for free, thank god actual games like Minecraft don't do this

I'm from Michigan. Watching him go from the top of the lower peninsula, calling it the "upper peninsula", then going to "Ohio", which is actually just Ontario... in his own home country... then back to the "upper peninsula", which is still the top of the lower peninsula of Michigan was hilarious to me.
KiraTV, SidAlpha and BigfryTV were a few channels that got some short-lived blowback from the devs til they realized they didn't have a leg to stand on.
I don't know about you, but whenever players become able to exchange in-game assets (which are not even important for gameplay, its just being used as a token) for interplayer real life money exchange, it looks BAD. Tibia did (and likely still does) allow you to turn in-game currency back into cash, and Counter Strike have been doing it with gun skins for ages and no one cared, now some game with squares is a big thing? Not my thing... I'd rather farm and grind for my stuff and AT BEST use some cash to get in-game credits to gain an advantage in-game only (because i can't convert those credits into dollars anyway).
hey mutahar, i recommend taking a look at upper echelon gamer's videos about earth 2 as the terms are explained in more details. such as that people making it can take all your money whenever they want or that they wont take any responsibility for the values presented to be accurate (might explain why the algorithm doesnt really price plots properly) and so on

So I've put in about $10-15 of virtual land in 2020 (I don't remember the exact amount and actually forgot it existed until I saw this video). I don't plan on adding anymore, I just wanted to see if it ends up going anywhere which would be cool. A few things to note that Muta did not touch on in the video: 1. The crazy % increases from my knowledge are based on each tile beginning at $0.01. When the "game" started each tile was worth this amount, and didn't change until people started purchasing tiles in that country. TBH it's kinda wrong for them to not date those % increases and would be better if they showed what the last 24 hours were like, rather than since they started selling. 2. When people purchase tiles/land in a county the value/cost of tiles in that country go up. Afaik it is only based on country not location, which is the reason something in Michigan costs the same amount as something in California because all U.S. tiles cost the same. But if you compare tiles from the US to somewhere like Japan, there is a noticeable difference in value. Am I saying to go ahead and spend $1-5K on virtual land? No. But if you're interested and have a few bucks to spare, knowing entirely well that it could be a scam anyways, then go for it.
I have worked for Credit Card companies and if they really treat withdrawals as “refunds” that’s why they are having to bypass the regular system with 3rd party as credit card companies will stop working with a merchant that has too much $ in refunds for the year. Assuming this is a legit company and not a scam ofc. Great vid as always
I'm guessing there's some small of a trickle of withdrawals until they've paid all the money out in big wages and dividends. Then the company declares bankruptcy and that's that.
I'm pretty sure the guy talking about withdrawal is associated with Earth 2 and was also talking about sueing a critic on TH-cam. Actually they wanted to sue Bigfry I think.
Yeah I was thinking the same! Especially because the footage he showed in this video is from the new patch that came out last week, so he has been playing it recently it seems. Plus the new patch is riddled with really bad bugs so its also surprising he talks good about it.
I can imagine someone with more money than common sense buying the plot of land where a national monument, for example, is standing, and then just arriving there acting like they own the place. Like I said, I can imagine Karens.
I made a good amount of money from E2, that was because I was early and sold to later "players". I would not advise buying or putting any of your money in right now. There's nothing to "play" and not much to show atm. As of now, you can build "holobuildings" which are 3d buildings on the map, but they look like a copy of mapbox 3d buildings. They just added jewls and resource collection too, but it's still not much. You still can't "play" anything. If you're anywhere interested in just seeing where it goes, I would say it's just best to watch what happens. After I made profit, I've never put anymore money back into it. Also, no one buys full price for properties, most of the high end properties only sell for 50% off. Lower tier properties sell for higher discounts. So any values you will see are never what they're actually worth when you try and sell it.
@@joemama5249 The original post reminded me of a hilariously desperate pm that Callum Upton got, while doing research on the discords for this new generation of schemes. It seems the only thing that all these “virtual earth” games have in common is they don’t exist but are definitely a real thing that’ll happen. Eventually.
Not by these guys at least lol
Essentially, a “game” that is just them taking your money.

i immediately thought of Second Life when i heard this.
but the difference between this and Second life is everything.

A few things to note that Muta did not touch on in the video:
I don’t know what this is, but as an American, I’m gonna do the exact opposite of what you said in the title

24:08 after years of mutas HUGE star citizen rant, seeing him talk SOME good about it is unreal
Yeah I was thinking the same! Especially because the footage he showed in this video is from the new patch that came out last week, so he has been playing it recently it seems. Plus the new patch is riddled with really bad bugs so its also surprising he talks good about it.
Sounds like, Chronicles of Elyria, just more straight to the point about the theft
I can imagine someone with more money than common sense buying the plot of land where a national monument, for example, is standing, and then just arriving there acting like they own the place.

@Best Anime Battles K 🤦♂️
Same, I played this game months ago and made a profit
I'm honestly shocked that this comment didn't end with a referral code.
@@futonrevolution7671 the game is a scam i will never promote it, i was lucky to even get out
@@joemama5249 The original post reminded me of a hilariously desperate pm that Callum Upton got, while doing research on the discords for this new generation of schemes. It went something, like "yeah, you're absolutely right about this, being a complete scam, and here's some evidence to back that up; I'm just here to laugh at these shills and kool-aid drinkers, buuuuuuut, if you ever want to buy some tiles, here's my referral code."
I felt so bad, looking at the comments on someone's video about how the process to cash out their profits took them well over three months. Roughly 80% of them were calling him an idiot for bailing on what's clearly a long-term investment.
