Saw them on a whim at my college 12 years ago. Chilled 5 feet from him the entire night. What an incredibly cool experience. Got to see a true professional who doesn’t take himself too seriously on stage…
Hell of an acoustic picker as well. He was firing off arpeggios and riffs all night effortlessly while singing. Yet, his lovely daughter is probably thinking, “Dad, just stop playing for once!”

A salute to one of my songwriting heroes, who capture the zeitgeist of a time and space and place I was in in my life so perfectly (plus, the songs are beautiful and awesome to (try to) sing). Somehow you manage to combine rocking out with pathos, empathy, heart and hope. That is a very hard balance. The wonderfully ironic thing is, trying not to write another Iris, you guys have continued to produce brilliant music, with a superb work ethic and humble greatness. Keep doing what you do, because many of your songs have changed many peoples lives, by capturing a voice for something that often cannot be said easily out loud. Big love to you, Robbie, and all that work with you!

I love one thing about the Pandemic, ironically - it's broken wide open what it is to be a musician. For those who were in it for heart, we see you now, there's more change to see where it comes from. For those just out for money, well, we don't hear so much from them... Big respect for American Songwriter and all the other organisations that are helping us dive deeper into the music now. Yeah, it's one year later, but hey, sometimes you don't see things until exactly the moment you need to!

Actually the shirt is from Bethlehem Steel, a steel company in Buffalo that recently burnt down but was formally from the Industrial Revolution, it’s a really cool place, I highly recommend looking it up.

Mind-blowing that they came to Sweden at a point I could manage to see them: they do not disappoint, great performers but also a great crown of people who get the music. Belting out Iris was a peak moment (and yes, they have done so much else that is superb as well)
