Jon rzeznik is one of my all time favorite singers. His live performances are amazing he is a true singer star not a fake auto tune rapper or singer he has true talent and is a great person. I would love to meet him. His Alaska h plugged album is one of my all time favorites I listen to him daily still.
I saw John about three weeks ago in Missouri front row center. Dude is ripped! He’s got the body I wish I had the discipline to have. I’m 59 and hit the gym 5 days a week and have been doing AthleanX 100 off and on for about 2 years. Jeff has great stuff. Ryan is awesome and is hilarious to boot. Since seeing John perform, I’ve recommitted myself to stop drinking beer in order to slim down the gut. Beer is the devil.
John is one of my favorite singers from the 90's. The fact that this guy listens to Athlean X, my favorite Fitness TH-camr, just makes it all better. 💪 I had no idea how taxing singing really is on the rest of your body besides the lungs. The more you know.
It's great he is focusing on working out to take the place of the other addictions, but he doesn't need to worry he's always been in good shape....he already looked perfect before, perfect body and tone before....and as far as not doing the drugs/drinking/ and smoking, that will definitely keep him healthier but whatever else he was doing before (not the drugs, drinking, smoking) he needs to keep that workout routine....he looked so perfect...and yes he is in good shape now, but he had even more muscle and tone before. He needs to not be so critical of himself. He always worked out, always in good shape.
As much as I love the Goo Goo Dolls and Rzeznick, I can’t help but think back to a time when a local bartender, at a club in Columbia, SC, told me Rzeznick was the biggest Jerk he ever had to deal with. It was just before they hit it big and Name was getting good AirPlay. We were waiting on a show featuring Collective Soul, for my wife’s 40th Birthday, and shooting the shit about bands. I asked him how hard it was to deal with these guys and he quickly stated that most were cool but one just burned him bad…Rreznick. Said he demanded Coke right away and wouldn’t even look anyone in the eye. I hate he told me that, as I have seen a ton of videos where JR is super cool, but always keep that in my head; maybe it was just a bad time for him and he outgrew it.
He’s been sober now for quite some time. I’m sure he’s a different person now. People doing Coke won’t ever act “right.” It takes over one’s personality.
This is a weird story. Why would someone ask a bartender for coke? People doing drugs get them from their dealer or a dealer of someone they know. Even if it did happen, Johnny probably was under stress and maybe had a bad day. Or maybe the bartender's girlfriend took a liking to Johnny and the bartender is vindictive.. Who knows? Just enjoy the music!
@@SC-mc7fo I agree and love them still. They put on one of the best performances in a torrential downpour on July 4th (it’s on TH-cam). About the story I told, Johnny has even talked about a period when he was out of control. I did state that in my comment also. On the Bartender end…it is quite common for bands to use local club owners and employees to procure their desired “incentives” before performances. Especially before they hit it big and have an entourage to take care of those things. Keep in mind they were still playing small clubs and weren’t a very big deal at the time. They hit city after city and don’t have contacts yet. I’ve dealt with many venues thru the years and it was the norm back in the 80s and early 90s. Maybe things are different today, but I was just conveying something I experienced and have no ill will towards JR or the band, it just stood out to me as I’m a big fan and was surprised when he told me. I even called bs on him and he asked another dude there “who was the biggest jerk we’ve ever had come thru here? He rolled his eyes and said his name without skipping a beat. That’s the only reason I gave it any credence. I will now just enjoy the music, but didn’t like being called a “fabricator”, lol. Peace my friend…
Maybe he was a different person when he was using. He's been sober for quite some time, and I've met him in person several times. He's been nothing but kind and humble.
@@debradebra9746 1) John has vitiligo, an autoimmune disorder that causes skin to lose pigment and be sensitive to sunlight - mostly on the face but on Johnny, you can also see it in other areas. He has maybe had treatments for it. 2) He is almost 60 and faces change with age/hormonal changes. 3) He has always been true to himself and what he wants to do; has done amazing things out of talent and sheer will. He has many fans, and his music has positively affected millions of people around the globe. If he felt he needed to change his appearance for whatever reason, that is just another example being true to himself and his needs.
@@AK-jw7rx You have no idea what is going on with his body. He has an autoimmune disease that wreaks havoc on skin/muscle/ligaments. I think he is beautiful in 2024; super fit, exercises, eats right most of the time. Every 60 year old man should have a hot body like he does! It is possible.
Love Johnny!❤❤❤ Hottest & most talented front man & songwriter alive today.
This was so amazing! Thank you for letting Johnny "ramble" on. I love hearing him so excited.
John was the best!
Glad to see John taking such good care of himself. I want him to be around for a long time.
Looks like he'll be performing a quite a while. Totally shredded
Wow I forget he’s nearly sixty. He’s all over the stage and sounds better live now than ever before. Great interview!
Some artists make great interviews. JR is at the top 👍🙏

Sounds just as good now as he did 25 years ago.

I’ve been a fan for over 25 years. I’ve met John twice after shows. He was kind and funny- so down to earth.
John was an great interview. Hoping for a sequel.
Great interview! I have been a GGD freak 29 years and go see them every chance I get. 47 times!
47 times? That's crazy awesome.
John is so spot on about diet, exercise, and sleep! "I'm not going down like this" should be everyone's mantra!

HONOR TO BE FIRST CAUSE I LOVE GOO GOO DOLLS

Eminem also replaces his addictive substances with exercise. Exercise is the best medicine, hands down.
Very interesting!

Not quite.
The plastic surgery messed up his face. Seems like a nice guy though.
