  • Formed in Buffalo, NY by John Rzeznik and Robby Takac, Goo Goo Dolls has quietly broke records, contributed a string of staples to the American songbook, connected to millions of fans and indelibly impacted popular music for three-plus decades. With over 30 years together as a band, over 12 million albums sold and 14 number one and Top 10 hits at Hot AC, "Miracle Pill," finds Goo Goo Dolls at the top of their game. The album delivers musicianship that is as engaging as ever, emotion and intimate, relatable lyrics that reflect on the current landscape of instant gratification and relief that everyone seems to be seeking.

Been listening to these guys since my early teens. Air guitar'd to Super star carwash, boy named goo and watched them blow up with Dizzy up the girl. While not quite the same sound now, I have really enjoyed some of the tracks on these past few albums. Seen these guys live maybe a dozen times now. I am very grateful they are still a band and doing what they love.

Good question about All That You Are, I love that song!
And all that the Goos are has such a kind, positive and romantic vibe, I can't get enough of it. No matter what they do, rock or pop, or whatever, they are so wonderfully unique

“Autumn Leaves” is my favorite song from the album & I’m so grateful you didn’t leave it off the album as you mentioned. I just heard it live from my sweet Goo friend Kim who flew from Boston to your three shows in Texas to kick off the tour and it sounded phenomenal 🎶🎤🎸🎹

He’s so damned right about the transfer of wealth that took place in 2008! People lost everything & some are still battling their way back. I was in a club & no one was talking to the person right in front of them but texting someone in cyberspace lol It drives me nuts about the call/text thing too! Ugh! I really love their new album and I am a long time fan. Thank you for doing this interview!

Thank you so much for your love and support, It gives me such great joy to learn that our hard working is paying off and there are a lot of peoples out there that actually love what I do.
Which of my song is your favorite? And have you ever been in any of my concerts?

The question about a 2entral theme appeared to be pointedly awkward. I find a universal theme about love and brother hood, toleran2e, and support. That is what I love about this band. The haunting melodies and the philosophy about life and self. They are a great band. I also dig the exploring new sounds on the songs like on this video I just found here:th-cam.com/video/vr_y-48LP70/w-d-xo.html. LOVE!!!

Great interview! I love the new album. Still go back to the old stuff, but people and times change and its very fitting for this day in age. Some songs really hit home on this new album. I love when music can just speak what you feel without saying it yourself. Great jobs guys!

They’ve been friends for the majority of their life, if they didn’t enjoy each other they wouldn’t be doing this. They’ve had a long week promoing that can be tiring, most likely just exhausted

    • @KathyW2200

I'm not seeing dislike here, but it’s worth noting that they’re still together after all this time, even after a period of not speaking to each other several years ago. Interesting to me is that, even after I learned of that, I can’t see it in interviews or performances from that time. They've clearly learned to work around their differences, even big ones. (Or as John wrote in "Broadway", "I'll live around it."). Would that we could all learn to do that.

SAME- Gutterflower to me was their last "great" album. I wonder how many fans stayed on board or if these new fans even knew of them before they "made it big" because I think theyd be very surprised by their very hard rocking sound on their first 5 albums. They were pretty much a different band back then, and they were at their best through A boy named Goo.
