There are some places that are so profoundly beautiful, so vibrant and wild, that they are known to travelers all over the world as places that you must see before you die. Shipwreck beach and the surrounding coastline in the Ionian islands is one of those places and I have dreamed of taking my own boat to since I first started thinking about sailing the world.
But as luck would have it just as we were about to experience this adventure of a lifetime we got sick. Unfortunately taking a few days to recover just isn’t an option since Desiree’s sister and her Fiancée are visiting us for their pre-wedding honeymoon. So we’re going to do everything we can to not let our drop in health stand in the way of this decade old dream. But sailing, hiking, swimming, and exploring these rugged coastlines can be exhausting and with our illness getting worse by the day we may just have to postpone the whole thing.

Not fun being sick when you have friends or family visiting. Love the scenery in Greece and I wish I was there for the Greek food. Yum! Fletcher is going from Greece to the start of the school year. Now that’s an adjustment! I wanted to tell you I’m so glad that you have an appt. At Children’s Hospital Boston. It’s an awesome place and the people that work there are so kind and caring. I was very impressed with the care they gave a young friend and the care they gave her family. Enjoy Greece!
The whole, getting sick after visiting relatives thing is a pain, but so worth it to see people you love! My family is just across the state, but every time we get together, we exchange the germs that are local for whatever we bring in! You guys are the best! Thanks. Just for the record, I hope Isa is just like her Mom!
🇨🇦 - family cruising is awesome - my sister and I are also 7 yrs apart and it's a special bond‼️ we were lucky to cruise with Greg and Perri in the US Virgin Islands this past spring on Madawaska with our sister and our 90 yr old Mom - special times ‼️

Your guest were very nice. Most of the time when we took non boaters, we were not as much fun as advertised. They were so lucky to have you take them to these fabulous places.
I have to comment on how well trained Oso is for living aboard ship and dingies. He knows exactly what to do and how to keep safe.
But if weather gets rough, don't forget a safety line -- just in case.

Isabella is so cute. She's sitting up on her own and enjoying her Aunt and Uncle. So is such a great doggie...makes me miss my little Jacob.
By the way, Sailors for centuries have used Ginger root to calm their stomachs. It's super high in electrolytes. I like to use Canada dry Ginger ale...they use real ginger root.

You mentioned how warm it was. I well remember how hot Greece was in summer. My experience was 50 plus years ago and when walking around Athens my shoes would stick to the road. At nite we just slept on the cement balcony of the hostel. No beds needed. Great food, buffet style. Thanks for another great video.

I’m sure I missed noticing many of them but some of your transitions between scenes were great. Putting in a second or two of something between the longer parts was cool.
It’s easy to forget that you guys have to film, organize and select every second of the episode.

Love watching your channel? My wife and I just got back from a 12 day cruise from Venice (Trieste) to Rome (Civitavecchia). Very hot while we were there (July 14-28) but beautiful scenery and soooo much history to take in. Re: your sickness; I was mildly sick for a couple days at the end of the trip with a bit of a sore throat, maybe a fever but nothing too bad. Apparently my little flu (or whatever) infected her with strep throat (unlikely but I never argue) and she has been sick for a few weeks, requiring two courses of antibiotics. If your symptoms seem to drag on, make sure you get in to see a doctor. I had no idea that strep could be so bad and have long lasting effects. Hope you are already better! Cheers!
I'm an Italian-American-Californian and Mexican food is, of course, my favorite, but DANG- Greek food in Greece is even BETTER. Traveling there in '73 with a group, we'd all order different dishes, then share each one with the others.

So, I've been watching you guys from the beginning, but I'm developing a complex. You see I lived in Georgia (Near to Savannah) for about 15 years and I believe you came past heading north. Then you came south past me again. This year I left America in April to live in Mallorca, and guess what? You probable came past heading to Greece. So no excuses, If you come past Mallorca again, I'm in Santa Ponca (great anchorage) and dinner is on me. Be safe guys and enjoy every minute.
Isa is going to be a very special person when she grows older. ❤️

ugh. I went to visit my grandmother first time in 7 years for thanksgiving in '23 and I got extremely sick and addicted to Afrin. One thing I'll say to anyone is, don't abuse the nose spray like I did.

I have resisted mentioning it before but since the subject came up, you have been to at least 50 coolest anchorage of them all so far. It's about time for an recap and decision on which was actually the coolest.
It's probably age, but I think we would rather be hot, or take a shower than jump into salt water which makes us feel dirty and hot when we get out...
It seems Isa is the most smiley when on the boat, or any boat. Before you know it she will be jumping out of the rigging and making your heart stop in fear, lol.

Nice episode do. I just get back from a vacation to Zakynthos about 3 weeks ago and I confirm that it’s really beautiful there. Enjoy your stay.
Brings to mind something I was taught to do with all food around the Med. Because of the way they fertilize their crops ALL food that doesn't have a peel (tomatoes, even apples, etc) should be peeled and washed well with fresh water.
In the US they use a lot of chemical fertilizer though EU uses more natural fertilizers. Either way, wash your food well and peel outer layers wherever possible (including apple skins).
This was the best. A ten on a ten scale.

( Believe me, my young friend, there is nothing, - absolutely nothing- half so much worth doing as messing about in small boats. ie; Wind in the Willows )

To be safe I think you should wear a mask during the check-in process. And tell all visitors to wear a mask on airplanes when traveling to come join you on your boat. This may help.
