My grandad drove a massey ferguson 50b for 8 years and one of them 50s for 11 years dug out over 100 council houses and 2 hotels (hotel killmore Cavan) and (white horse cootehill) they are truly amazing diggers
It’s also very nice to see the older gear, clearly looked after of the years, still be put to use. One of the reasons I enjoy your channel farmer phil as it’s not all flash flash. It is what it is, it works. Very enjoyable to watch my father as well!
The massey 50 saved the day love seeing the old machines in use. I can't get over how big the piggies had got, looking forward to when you have some piglets born at the farm. Good to hear that your uncle Iain is doing ok.
We love farmer Phil you’ve just come up so will have to watch on later you cheer us up having a stressful time at the moment.Glad Uncle Ian is coming along wish him well.we’re expecting storm Glads so Good luck and best wishes.🍀🍀👍💚💚💚💚🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪
A life time ago Had Massey 50B at home many a septic tank and foundations dug out. It was a great machine for it's time. I can not ever remember it breaking down.
There’s 1/2” 6 port hydraulic diverters on eBay for around €80 a simple switch and plumb it to the bucket rams the same as on a tractor loader you’d have a handy 3rd service on the 50!
When we had a massey 40 i used the tractor rear linkage hydraulic pump for the third service.i just had a feed to a single spool mounted near the loader levers, then return pipe to the back end,put the three point lever into constant pumping.this worked well for the bale squeezer and used parts that i had as i couldnt find the right third service block.
Great video. Can’t beat the old reliables. Delighted to hear that Tuesday video is coming back. Wasn’t the same without it. Delighted to hear Ian is going well, continued success.
The massey diggers are very handy bits of kit alright. Have had a 50hx here for about 20 years and it still does a huge amount of work especially in the winter. That said the shuttle on it is key to it usefulness. Hard on the knees if you were clutching every day. When your putting on a quick attch for it would it be a idea to fit the same type as the one on the jcb and modify the brackets on the bucket? That way the implements are all interchangeable so you could use the shear grab on both? Remember you found a hydrulic spool block when you were doing the workshop cleaning and Father Phil said it be worth keeping 🤔
Try using the bucket , start at top, bucket blade horizontal and tickle(curl bucket) a little then drop 10 cms and repeat. You only use brakes of Tractor as it will get pushed back as you go down the silage. We go across our bunker once a week and never gave issues here in Canada. No loose left on ground. Takes a bit to get going with the bucket but it goes just as fast as your grab once you know.
I really like see the vintage machinery being used on the farm. Always good to have a backup plan just in case of a break down. Love those pigs. Sure wish I lived in Ireland to come & get some of Bacon & Sausage.
Great to see the old school gear stepping up to the mark, good to hear that uncle Ian is on the mend, also how is the new feed bin working out for you, are you pleased with it?
Well Phil we’ve a landini with the same Perkins engine injector pump came off it as well there’s a little bracket back to the block broke just left the 3 studs into the timing cover on it and they worked loose.
My friends farm used to have a international 3434 wheeled digger for feeding the cattle also had a fordson with 3 point linkage pallet lift.It was late 80’s though.
Believe it or not our 6480 injector pump did the same it sheared the studs it bolts onto went to start it one morning then bangs and clatters get out and injector pump was junping and bouncing about nightmare
Our old mf 50 mk2 is still a go to machine even if shes been sitting dormant for months quick check over and she will do a day's work proud. Fantastic machines even today. Stay safe 🏴
Great video Phil. good to have a back up machine. You could pipe a 3rd service off a rear jack to get you going👍 Hope to be able to buy some bacon on line when the time comes👌👌
Great video there Phil. Don't get ur hopes to high about the bacon. It won't be the same size as the bacon your used too out of the shops but the meat will taste great.
No School like old school Phil. Very handy machine to have around the farm. 💪 You can see from the drone footage how far back the silage pit is, jaysus it's only like yesterday when you opened it.
Good on the Mighty Massey 50: great to see it being used 👍. Is it the torque one or manual gearbox Phil?. We had the torque one with the back hoe off and a 1ton weight on the back for pushing up silage for years. A great machine in her day.
Get that front axle rebushed ASAP. If it's the same as a Massey 40 the drive shaft for the hydraulics passes through the front axle and if the bushes are worn the axle will tip and break the shaft. A friend of mine had a Massey 40 and that snapped the drive shaft twice before we were told that we had to re bush the axle.
Phil, give Joe Nolan in Enniscorthy a shout, he breaks MF50s would have anything you need to equip that girl for a grab , decent fella wouldn't Rob you.
Anyone else notice little bro leave the door open on the feeder on the first beef rations there. He’ll learn haha. Spotting his mistakes though hoping he’ll read this
Hey Phil great video today. Glad to hear uncle Ian is doing OK and he only has a few chemo left to go, good news 👍. How are the suckies settling in? Nice bit about the pigs today 👌
Hi Phil i was just wondering if you would give a shoutout to my dad Paul Duggan because he is in hospital it would be great. we both love your chanel thanks. From Jack Duggan. Waterford
For fuck sake put down the jacks before you start using the back actor or you'll be adding a king post on you're massey digger to the list of things needing fixing and if it's anything like the ones on the jcb 3c2's it will be a pure pig of a job
It's great to hear your uncle is doing well wish the best 👌
My grandad drove a massey ferguson 50b for 8 years and one of them 50s for 11 years dug out over 100 council houses and 2 hotels (hotel killmore Cavan) and (white horse cootehill) they are truly amazing diggers
Jesus I'm close enough to the kilmore
It’s also very nice to see the older gear, clearly looked after of the years, still be put to use. One of the reasons I enjoy your channel farmer phil as it’s not all
flash flash. It is what it is, it works.
Very enjoyable to watch my father as well!
Years ago when we had pit silage Phil we used to cut out sections with an old hay knife.
Many be once you've sort out a replacement for the teleporter a quick hitch for the 50 to match would be a helpful addition.
Bro's reversing like a BEAST
There's just something about the old machinery that makes them way more reliable. Great sight to see them working.
Always nice to see the digger working, will have shined all the controls up, now I've got a good argument for Father to buy a Massey digger!
The massey 50 saved the day love seeing the old machines in use. I can't get over how big the piggies had got, looking forward to when you have some piglets born at the farm. Good to hear that your uncle Iain is doing ok.
Great video Phil god bless you all especially your uncle he's always in my prayers🙏❤🇮🇪
Well done Phil love listening to you fine to see your brother helping
We love farmer Phil you’ve just come up so will have to watch on later you cheer us up having a stressful time at the moment.Glad Uncle Ian is coming along wish him well.we’re expecting storm Glads so Good luck and best wishes.🍀🍀👍💚💚💚💚🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪

Phil is was like you took one step forward with the paus swing loader and two steps backwards in that video. I hope you get your jcb sorted
Great video. Can’t beat the old reliables.
Delighted to hear that Tuesday video is coming back. Wasn’t the same without it.
Delighted to hear Ian is going well, continued success.
Grate to here uncel is doing well
Nice video Phil the old massey 50 were a mighty machine
Would there be a 3 lever spool for them if a 4 in 1 bucket was fitted ? Or maybe a massey drott with 4 in 1 has same fitment spool with 3 ?
The massey diggers are very handy bits of kit alright. Have had a 50hx here for about 20 years and it still does a huge amount of work especially in the winter. That said the shuttle on it is key to it usefulness. Hard on the knees if you were clutching every day.

Have to get father Phil to make quick hitch for Massey 50 silage is flying at moment
Great to see the old school gear stepping up to the mark, good to hear that uncle Ian is on the mend, also how is the new feed bin working out for you, are you pleased with it?
great to hear your uncle is doing well
Good old motor they just keep going. Great video. Good Luck
Well Phil we’ve a landini with the same Perkins engine injector pump came off it as well there’s a little bracket back to the block broke just left the 3 studs into the timing cover on it and they worked loose.
The old girl saves the day again you will have to find a cab for her to keep farmer phil warm.
Best wishes to Uncle Ian. Nice video Phil
My friends farm used to have a international 3434 wheeled digger for feeding the cattle also had a fordson with 3 point linkage pallet lift.It was late 80’s though.
Great video again Phil and liv. 👍bro doing a great job feeding. Liv the pig's look great .👌
You consider doing the Massey 50 up. It could prove to be a very useful machine on the farm for years to come.
Great video Phil the Massey 50 is a savage little machine a great yoke
Believe it or not our 6480 injector pump did the same it sheared the studs it bolts onto went to start it one morning then bangs and clatters get out and injector pump was junping and bouncing about nightmare
Our old mf 50 mk2 is still a go to machine even if shes been sitting dormant for months quick check over and she will do a day's work proud. Fantastic machines even today. Stay safe 🏴

Excellent video. Always very interesting content.
Great video there Phil. Don't get ur hopes to high about the bacon. It won't be the same size as the bacon your used too out of the shops but the meat will taste great.
Nice video phill. Don't leave the massey 6480 parked for 5 years like the 6290. Just order up the parts and get it sorted 👌 👍
No School like old school Phil. Very handy machine to have around the farm. 💪
You can see from the drone footage how far back the silage pit is, jaysus it's only like yesterday when you opened it.
Hi would not be better for silage clamp to chew one side rather ten the whole face messed up?
It would yes
I’d say you’d be glad of the paus loader them days
You could pipe up a grab to one of the jacks on the back actor I have seen it done
Best diggers in the world, my 1973 50B not been run for 2 year, put a car battery on her and she started first turn
Great videos lad as always
When are you going to get an old battered cowboy hat and show Evenflow how it's done?
😂😂😂
Why not make a silage pusher would be a lot easier save time as well
Best wishes to your uncle
Good on the Mighty Massey 50: great to see it being used 👍. Is it the torque one or manual gearbox Phil?. We had the torque one with the back hoe off and a 1ton weight on the back for pushing up silage for years. A great machine in her day.
Actually it was a 50B.
its a manual gearbox one
@@FARMERPHIL3690 probably better off Phil: less trouble but not just as handy.

What about a shear grab on the JCB loader, 414 is it
Great video! Any new loading shovel on the horizon?😁
👁👁👁👁
Great video Phil
I'm surprised you don't have a loader tractor as a backup 🤣
Anyone else notice little bro leave the door open on the feeder on the first beef rations there.
He’ll learn haha. Spotting his mistakes though hoping he’ll read this
I’ve a 3rd spool to fit here, also see a few come up on eBay.
What’s in the meal bin at present
nothing at the moment
A jcb 413s would suit all your needs from diet feeding to dung to pushing up silage get rid off the tele and hardship
Time to get Robert on the job and fix that other Massey !
re bonjour encore une très belle vidéo 👍👍👍
Shame to see the 6480 unwell, bet she would be a right done up nice
Is that galvanised tanker one of the first slurry kats
There is a 520/50 for sale on donedeal
Great video Phil and good to hear your uncle is doing well and it’s handy having the Massey 50 in the yard 👌
Great video phill the mighty 50 did feirce well would she handle a shear grab 👍
Would you not use the 426 it would be quicker ??
Great video 🤠
That 2725 would have be better pulling the low loader today farmer phill
Sweet bit of kit
Where's the limo...
Being watching you since you had 2k subs
That is hardship. Put the sheargrab on the digger. Or put brackets for the quickie loader on the 6270 or the 6290 and use it with the loader.
Phil could farther Phil make up a silage pusher like Tom Pemberton has👍👍☝️☝️😂🤣
The mighty massey 50 is right
Would you not be better get the dealership to fix the 6480 and have it fixed and be able to use it
it would cost twice as much to fix easily
Does it cost much for injectors for a 6270 massey pls get back
Phil u will miss d PAUS loader when u go milling next great video tho , good man
Can't beat the nifty 50
Hey Phil great video today. Glad to hear uncle Ian is doing OK and he only has a few chemo left to go, good news 👍. How are the suckies settling in? Nice bit about the pigs today 👌
Hi Phil i was just wondering if you would give a shoutout to my dad Paul Duggan because he is in hospital it would be great. we both love your chanel thanks. From Jack Duggan. Waterford

Maybe 5 but we’re still not sure or not
Needing to buy a John Deere boys😎
Fertilizer Gona be even more crazy price now , most of it comes from Russia
Gtherr will be a lot striping on 648p to get moter out..
The ould dog for the hard road 💪🏻
Weirdest way to knock silage down. Just put the stabilizer s down and hoe it down. A lot smoother I believe 😀😎
Bad timing because you just had one
Jays Phil the axle won’t last too long in the 50
885 loader tractor tom p 😂
How mutch masseys fergusons have you got phil
20 I think😂
Jesus them pigs got big and noisey lol
What’s the thing behind the maize pit

Have you kept the worst pigs back for breeding?
no weve kept the quietest 2
The mf 50 sounds great is it a 50B.
No it’s a 50 the 50B came afterward
OK I was wondering.
For fuck sake put down the jacks before you start using the back actor or you'll be adding a king post on you're massey digger to the list of things needing fixing and if it's anything like the ones on the jcb 3c2's it will be a pure pig of a job
Something wrong with him laughing at the pigs he will eat them
👍👍🇮🇪🇮🇪💪💪🙏🙏👌👌
