    A weekend does not begin without a coffee and your video. A city dweller, who hardly stood on a farm in my life. But every repair and fix is just the best example of common sense I have ever seen. Your life is full of responsibility and hard work but you are the most mentally stable person I have ever seen. A lovely family life but I laugh at how your hardy girls, react to a dead mouse, just so normal and nice. Thanks so much for the life lessons. Mousy Moo, for the calfs name.

    The wee calf is cool with the bent tail❤ while in India years ago there was a cow with a fifth leg growing out of it's shoulder.. it was a healthy fully grown cow and the 'extra' leg was like a calf size thing.. that's the way things go sometimes, it's alive thanks to you. Mind your ankle, my left one got twisted badly twice over the years (i'm 57 now) and because i didn't mind it properly Plantar Facitis set in. Blooming painful, like your foot is splitting apart..😮 and my clutch foot at that.. 😂😂😂 oh, the 'mail' dispenser is cool.. there's always something to do on a farm, coming from a farming background myself you get to learn a multitude of skills and methods for working things out..😊 as you well know, when you have other lives depending on you, you'll get the task sorted.. like yourself, work smarter, not harder😇😉🤪 great videos Adrian, always a good variety of life on the farm👍

    Nice update Adrian. Those "Old Wives Tales" are really based on years and years of experience over centuries. Many scoff but male Holly really works well.

    • @andrewjones-productions
      @andrewjones-productions 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You are right. One example of an 'old wives tale' being spot on is that carrots are good for your eyes. That is because carrots are rich in vitamin A of course. Whether they help you to see better at night or not is debatable and is likely nothing more than the 'carrot on a stick' (forgive the pun!) to get children to eat them as the benefits were known. How they knew is amazing to me, but they knew.

    Really great video again Adrain. They are so varied and I find it very interesting when you disassembly equipment for repairs. Great to be able to tackle repairs yourself. That wee calf with the sideways tail really thrived in the few days. We have been blighted with ringworm both winter 2022 and 2023. I had forgotten about the Holly . I must cut some and get it up. Can’t recommend enough the outlet coupling at the top of the agitator. Mine is a red rock and I’d be beyond lost without it. Use it to transfer mainly watery slurry to neighbouring tanks which is always really thick because of the build up from scrapers. Most recently started to use it to pump parlour wash downs into a rarely used slurry store just so I could transfer thick slurry coming up through the slats to replace the parlour wash downs. Unreal wet down in cork for most of February…slurry build up breaking my heart….

    Hi Adrian. Looking at the wire mesh in the pen of the yellow calf. 2:15 / 20:22 I see what appears to be some bent spikes sticking out, close to the back wall. With feisty young calves jumping around there is a potential danger it could impale itself on the spike.

    • @IFarmWeFarm
      @IFarmWeFarm  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      We had a bull calf there a few days before hand that jump from one pen to the other and broke a lot of that mesh, all them calves are now moved to a different house and the welder was out yesterday 😉. But yes a dangerous thing for sure

But, husband played rugby in college some years back and ever since I'm a fan. Not a die-hard, watch it all the time fan, but just enjoy watching it so much more than any other sport. And if certain teams are playing, I've even been known to get up before 6 in the morning my time, on a weekend, just to watch the live stream of a game or two 😄

  • @dajayway
    @dajayway 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    I done transfer before with the agitator to a tank beside another tank, it's grand if you are badly stuck for space but come time to empty the tank it's a nightmare, the agitator takes all the watery stuff out and you ultimately end up having to put back all those loads of water,

    • @tomflynn5745
      @tomflynn5745 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If you agitate the tank first then transfer a couple of feet and agitate again and do that every so often you will be moving slurry not water. Definitely handier than using the tractor and tank. I got the 6 inch blue collapsible hose but I might have been better getting the 4 inch as it’s a bit heavy to be doing it 2 often

    Glad that little calf made it, looks like its doing really well. Mind you saying that, I wouldn't expect anything else with the care and love your family gives to the animals. Have you thought about investing in a separator? Can you get grants, it might help with your slurry storage.

    • @IFarmWeFarm

    A length of lay flat and a suitable way of anchoring the outlet would save you time in the long run. I can move twenty thousand gallons in less than one hour after mixing. If you’re getting a joiner in the middle you can use it to help mix a long tank and a garden roller would be handy for squeezing it out when finished.

    Your doing a dam good job sir... even if yer just speaking to yer self infront of a camera 😅😉🤪. . Seriously you are great at explaining what your thinking and doing 👏. I just forget and go do something without picking up the camera 😮. Your calfs are looking great wish them all the best to.. stay safe 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
