I just put the bucket under the end of the cylinder and loosen the gland (end cap). About two turns out the fluid will start to leak out. I don't disconnect the hydraulic lines or the other end of the cylinder. I rebuild the cylinders right on the loader/backhoe. I pull the rod assembly out and install the new rings and seals on the back of my tailgate.
This is absolutely the BEST video of documenting rebuilding a hydraulic cylinder. Thank you very much for taking the time to put it together! I am about to tackle rebuilding ALL of the cylinders on my Terramite T9 tractor. Thank you for the "help"!
Can't find part #2 video? I liked part #1. I especially liked seeing you use cheap Harbor Freight tools since that is what my budget is stuck with. Didn't like the lathe since I don't even know anybody who has one. Couldn't hear what you were saying but It looked like you were fixing the buggered end of the bottom pin. Over all, you did a great video.
It's a real time-saver to tighten the hinge screw on the gland tool once set to the proper distance. That way it's not a continuous fight to get the pins to align the the gland holes.
This video was exactly what I was looking for, thank you!
excellent veryinformative you explained step by step I really liked it and enjoyed it
Muchas gracias por compartir Saludos desde León GTO México 👍👍👍👍
Merci pour cette vidéo .Stephane Bretagne France
Please make a video on how to replace bushing in the end for the swing cylinder...your videos are fantastic keep em coming
شكرا
Si
Ótimo vídeo por gentileza onde acho a chave usada no minuto 5:00 para comprar desde já agradeço a atenção e muito obrigado.
Great video
Retract the piston first. Stand out of the way after cracking the fitting allowing the outrigger to settle to the ground as it draws air.
GREAT VIDEO.!!
i just bought a 2 hydraulic cylinders double acting, came of a crane (2 1/2” rod) x 40” retracted., i have im building a dump trailer.,but my question it’s on each cylinder have a couple oil fittings inner and outlets looks like small square
metal oil divider on the side of each cylinder..!
i HOPE YOU CAN HELP ME WITH THAT CONCERN..!!

I'm trying to do this but everything seems to be rusted or seized. can't remove the pin from the cylinder, can't get the cylinder cap to unscrew. unsure what kind of heat this thing can take before damage....
i just got a 580k and all the backhoe hydraulics looks like use the same kit . does it ??
What is the socket size used with the impact? Love this content and it is exactly what I was searching for. You are the best for sharing your knowledge. Any ideas on bolt torques specs other than tight as hell?
It's probably the same as my 580SK... 1 1/2 and the torque is 600+ ft lbs
@@offgridbc6810 , thanks and that does not sound like much torque at all.
my 580d was 1-13/16
@@tj928 , thanks.
Where is part 2? Im having trouble getting dirt seal installed inside gland. It is metal sheathed and I dont want to destroy it.
I was going to do part two, but the video data got corrupted....
Where can i buy the same tools you used on opening the cylinder cap? Thank you
Hi! I can’t find part 2 of thé video.. do you have the bolt torque for the piston rod cylinder? Thank you
Not sure if it'll help at this point or not but the proper torque is "tight". You might think I'm being a smartass but I'm not. I've rebuilt at least a half dozen of these cylinders without ever having torque specs and only just used blue loctite and then a half inch drive Milwaukee and a few ugga duggas with a three foot cheater. Never had a failure yet after some having over a thousand hours of use on them.
Where can I find the seal kit? We ordered the seal kit G110537 but it did not come with #5 D95144 WIPER - piston rod, most importantly #7 G107923 U-CUP SEAL - with O-ring, piston rod, wide, or #8 G107997 SEAL - buffer, grooved, piston rod, narrow. Those are all supposed to be part of the kit. There was some other unnecessary items useless to us in the kit but the three items mentioned above were not in there. Please help with a reliable place to order this kit.
Per the Case parts manual, those parts are included in G110537 ?
👍
you dont have to take hoses off .
I can’t get the black E8 bolt off with the impact like he did @ 10:57 what do I do
Heat hex head with oxy acetylene WITHOUT touching the cutting lever. When it is cherry red, the RED LOCTITE used in many assemblies will release and impact can work.
waiting for p 2
To much work 😢😢. i rebuilt mine while it was still on the tractor
What is the Part Number for the spanner tool?
Where can I get spanner tool?

Why didn't you write "part 1" in title? I am looking for a full video and I don't have a half hour, I have 15 minutes. I would have continued the search if you'd have said so and probably added yours to "watch later"
Tool name please

Why can't you just leave the cylinder attached to the top of the backhoe, prop it up with something, then take the end off and pull the piston? Seems like it would save a little lifting. Also I hate it when these videos use a lathe. Yep, that is something every DIY farmer has in his shop. Be real! Don't use things most people don't have.
I can answer couple your question, first you can do the cylinder without removing it, except when you're in the 70s it's hell bending down..... on the pin instead using the metal Lathe you can use a file.. and on the number two video the file from the camera was corrupted so I can use it....
@@bigdavid1 Understand completely. I am 65 and have had both ankles shattered, so I try to find the easiest way too. Usually have to find a way to do everything sitting down! Keep up the good vids.
