On the BRIO, I think you need to disable most of the automatic settings for exposure in the embedded control panel (Not the Logitech app, but the one with the Windows GUI), in order to fix the weird shutter speed issue. Might not be for your case (Or if you weren't willing to muck with gain), but it forced the faster shutter speed for low light. I like the BRIO, but I hate the software support so, so, so much.
Got the Brio for my meetings from the home office. Was a bit pricy, but the Windows Hello and pretty good video quality made it more than worth it. Even when in worse lighting conditions, I still always have hands down the best image quality in the call.
I have two of them. They're great cams in a pinch and deal pretty okay with low light (good enough for a call to grandma, not a live stream). Definitely b-cam material if used in a live stream. My only issue with them is the auto focus noise being weirdly loud. It's like the focus mechanism is physically coupled to the mics and so the movement gets picked up add sound. Best not to use the mic if you can help it.
I'm shocked at how good the jelly comb cam was at such a low price point. However, if I were to buy one of these cams......I'd go with the logitech brio.
its nice when the most expensive options are the best, usually those brands spend more on hyping up their brand image while delivering a mediocre product at an inflated price. But damn that Jelly Comb dark horse was quite the upset for all the lower/medium priced options

Holy shit the quality of this video is 👌 Also, seeing the quality of the webcams made me appreciate how excellent your main camera set up is. I'm sure it wasn't cheap but it looks fantastic! Thanks for this video 👏
You guys went all in. Very comprehensive and detailed review. You also went so far, to do a comparison between 2 usual usecases, just to show the differnet behaviour of the cameras used. My overall favorit was the Logitech Brio. The contender for best value was the Nexiogo N60. Some of the higher priced products here are way to overprized for the delivered featureset/usefulness/quality (= missing features, unstable monitor mounting, missing features in the software, quality was not up to the task). A really good review. Liked it.
I'm only halfway through the video and decided to pause and leave this comment. This is one of the more valuable videos I've watched in a while- and I'm super appreciative of your efforts as I seek out to purchase the best webcam for the money. :D

I very much liked videos like these because it is very informative and consumer-friendly when choosing the right webcam for those not familiar with webcams. Thank you.
I was going back and forth between the brio and the KIYO pro, and this video really helped me decide to go with the KIYO pro. If they were the same price I maybe would have gone with the Brio, but as of writing this the KIYO is almost 40 dollars cheaper on amazon and imo still looks fantastic.
I feel like everybody forgets that the Brio does have a 1/4" mount. You just twist/pull the monitor mount off and it's right there. The 1st Razer made you look jaundiced and the mic was picking up a weird high pitched sound. Both looked better in the gaming setup, but that's to be expected. The Kiyo Pro sounds like a decent mic. The skin tones on the Elgato are just weird, even after tweaking. The Nexigo's show blotchy skin tones in office or gaming setups, but for the price are impressive. The ones with the bowtie effect really bug me though. Still happy with the Brio as an all around device, but I can confirm it's weakness is low light performance. The 4 year old model has held up well. The C270 is a solid budget option, and it's small, so good for travel.
C922, Kiyo, Kiyo Pro, FaceCam... all of them have 1/4 mount. It is pretty common among webcams. BRIO anyway is pretty much the winner here. The sharpness from 2160p is clearly visible and Windows Hello is a nice bonus.

Before you take the plunge, lighting is what can make the biggest difference in a webcam. I too own a C920 but I have two standard lamps with cheap paper filter diffusers on them either side of me and the results are of near SLR quality. All configured in OBS. Best of luck to you though, whichever decision you make. Also, download some free luts, they're awesome!
Don't know but the Jelly comb mic and also the C270 mic were pretty good to my ears. They also had very impressive video quality. I don't think that the more expensive ones make that much sense for just meetings where most of the time our images are fixed to little boxes in Zoom anyways
The brio looks as good as some proper sony camera setup for streaming.. at a fraction of the cost.. would have loved to see the gaming setup in 1080p instead of just the 4k 30fps..great video! Thank you so very much for such an awesome review :). I have four Logitech cameras setup for when I stream. One being the HD Pro C910, another being HD C525, HD C615 and the C922 Pro Stream. But I have to say, I think that NexiGo N60 looks so much better than the Logitech webcams that I own. Nonetheless, thank you so very much for buying and taking the time to review all these webcams, as it has given me more to think about.
When it was available the aukey fhd was definitely the best camera for the price, it gave the same video quality as the logitech brio but in 1080p and for only $60cad! It often went on sale for $45 and lower!
Thanks, this was great. One feedback though: I think my preference became biased straight away because camera 1 was so good and my brain got anchored to it. I wanted it to be the best because of the good first impression so I started to dismiss even comparable cameras. So maybe next time the audience could have one minute blind taste test with two different scenes first before the deep dive please? last year when the pandemic had kicked off I wanted to upgrade from my old logitech c270 and snagged a slightly older canon dslr off ebay for like 100 bucks since canon released webcam software for their cameras lol. Best webcam i've ever had lol
@@Zoranurai13 Google "Canon AC Adaptor". In my case the 7D is designed to have an AC adaptor in the battery compartment, it has a little rubber grommet that moves out of the way to let the power cord come out from the battery housing.
Yeah, I started using my 7D early on and was hoping to replace it with a more sensible webcam, but it's totally ruined me for quality. Nothing beats a big sensor and good glass. That said, it's highly inconvenient vs a simple dedicated webcam.
The Elgato Facecam's ability to expose the whole scene, not just the main subject, in low light ... is seriously impressive. It reminds me of using a DSLR from a few years ago with a high end lens. The ISO performance may be noisy in low light, but when your surrounding lighting is balanced correctly its going to eat the lunch of every other camera. This presents a pretty tricky quandary for buyers. Are you lighting your scene and subject correctly? Then its facecam ALL DAY ... are you not a pro photog? Buy the one that makes the "best" of any setting and light you throw at a webcam on any given day.
Got the Razer Kiyo Pro during Prime Days for $150. At that price, it is an excellent webcam for the video and audio quality that you get. Might be a toss-up with the Logitech Brio if it was at it's full $200 price tag.
@@therealist2000 Well, they are both very popular cameras in the same price range as some of the cameras that were included. Would make sense to compare them as well.

Wow glad I got the Kiyo Pro now, in the streaming environment test there it absolutely dicks on the Elgato which I did not expect. The Brio seems pretty excellent but you can see the 30FPS movement isn't great - although I noticed the Razer took a hit to FPS if you turned exposure up above a certain level. The Jelly Comb is frankly amazing for that price. It would have been nice to see some commentary at least on the software for these cams, as one big issue with a lot of Logitechs is getting them to remember settings - whereas the Razer and Elgato save camera settings to the camera itself so you can even move them to another computer entirely and they will give you the option to load settings from the camera. While Synapse is "OK I guess", I suspect where Elgato will excel here is their software.
As it typically is with Logitech products, I would've gotten the Brio were it not for the astronomical price tag. I think the Razer KIYO seems to be the best in terms of combining reasonable quality of features with a price tag that doesn't break the bank.
Thanks for the video Dimitri! One thing I felt like could have been improved is including the Logitech streamcam since it’s more of a streaming competitor for the elgato. Cheers!
@@Rawdilz They are not the same, but they do have the same sensor. The image could be similar, because of that, but the lenses also make a big difference.
I find it funny, every web came either over exposed, or under exposed. I wonder if buying a cheap point and shoot camera would be better than a high-end webcam (Or the raspberry pi HQ camera). In the "Steaming Setups" you can specifically see where the Elgato Cam and Razer were tuned for
Good stuff, it's a shame that one needs to spend so much for a decent webcam. For future content consider a comparison or a round-up of using cell phone cameras as webcams
Of course this gets posted the day after I order the Elgato Facecam 😩 Still looks great and I don't mind playing around in the software to get it look its best

@@blahorgaslisk7763 yeah, my dad actually uses the stock mic. With a little bit of tweaking it actually sounds really good. Not like a good dedicated mic, but pretty usable.
Having tried the Logitech Brio and C922, they both have this annoying problem in OBS where you just can't reliably save the camera settings from one session to another. I hear it's a common problem with Logitech webcams. I gave up and just went the mirrorless route eventually. So much better.
It was based on sales popularity, and the Dell just got released. It would be nice to revisit it vs the Brio for Windows Hello, as well as the other for streaming & general use.

or the new Dell webcam... but then again, there are so many webcams out there it is hard to test all of them (but still ;) )
This is the exact kind of video I was looking for. Such an excellent and thorough review. Thanks for making this!!
i would pick the facecam over others, best image quality, hands down
Awesome video! Your comparison tactics are perf
This is a very useful video. Straightforward demonstrations for each webcam, really nice work!
Thank you.
As it typically is with Logitech products, I would've gotten the Brio were it not for the astronomical price tag. I think the Razer KIYO seems to be the best in terms of combining reasonable quality of features with a price tag that doesn't break the bank.
Wasn't the Kiyo listed for a similar/higher price?
@@Quiselott The Razer Kiyo was listed at ~$80 whereas the Logitech Brio was $170.
That was a Test! Nice that you try realistic enviroments and not some unrealistic studio sets. thx
Thanks for the video Dimitri! One thing I felt like could have been improved is including the Logitech streamcam since it’s more of a streaming competitor for the elgato. Cheers!
Well, BRIO is better than Streamcam and costs less than Facecam, so it is its n.1 rival.
Thanks for doing this one. The Nexigo N60 was a nice surprise. Good for a grandma gift.
Why not test the new dell webcam? Such a missed opportunity.
It's pretty much the same as the Elgato one.
@@tams805 just because it has the same sensor doesn't mean it is the same camera. The lenses are completely different as is the software.
@@tams805 how do you think they are the same?
@@Rawdilz They are not the same, but they do have the same sensor. The image could be similar, because of that, but the lenses also make a big difference.
Also the new Dell webcam outputs 2160p video, where as Facecam only 1080p.
And it has face recognition for Windows Hello.
The blind tests are nuts, the Facecam looks the best.
i was literally searching for a webcam on amazon rn till i got a notification about this vid xD Thx a lot!!
Thanks Chris Pratt!
I like the mirror in the background it must make it easier to figure out what cam goes to what footage in post.
the best webcam comparison video ever I've seen so far...
That Nexigo N60 really held its own against the Logitech and Razer. It's a steal for $35.
Awesome in-depth content. Thanks for taking the time to make this! Until next time, Starlord.
Of course this gets posted the day after I order the Elgato Facecam 😩
Still looks great and I don't mind playing around in the software to get it look its best
Watch alpha gaming's video that webcam is Great and come on you won't have to do too much stuff
@@Bees37 Yeah I've already watched a few other rcomparrion videos with it before this one which is what convinced me to buy it
i bought a logitech brio for my dad last year. He is a professor and gives conferences. I found that is by far the best webcam i tested, and the microphone if you´re on a decent room is awesome.
The brio was the only one in this test with microphones I'd consider using. The rest were just awful.
Lots of time and work put into this video... so much apreciated Sir.
I hope I don't need this tech yet. I'll stick to playing games without seeing people lol
A pleasant video capture in 4K with great color contrast is what works most for a webcam.
Id sooner take my DSLR over these. XD
That Logitech Brio one is tempting as hell though, I like the 60fps on that.
The BRIO also works with Windows Hello. That's why I bought mine in the first place.
it also has HDR
@@6thHokageJuan It's the best all 'round webcam.
You forgot to mention you'd use a studio quality mic too... I mean if you're going to expand the budget, why not go all out?
bro seems the clear winner here
You missed the latest 4K webcam from Dell
It was based on sales popularity, and the Dell just got released. It would be nice to revisit it vs the Brio for Windows Hello, as well as the other for streaming & general use.
I totally agree the Brio is amazing. Been using it for 3 years and everyone always ask what webcam I am using.
Let me guess, the Dell Ultrasharp webcam isn't in this video because you couldn't put an affiliate link for it?
Thank you for making this video! Ive been trying to decide on a web cam for a TH-cam channel im going to create! And you helped me decide on the Logitech BRIO!!!!
So many Logitechs, but no Logitech Streamcam. Good overview otherwise, though, thanks!
Yep, big miss. it would be a perfect video otherwise.
@@hekero Well, Avermedias PW513 could have been included, too. But that one is about the highest-end webcam you can buy and even more expensive than the rest. Logitech's Streamcam, however, is rather reasonably priced by comparison.
very impressiv comparison with this "office" vs "gamer" setup! thx for this!
no AVerMedia 513? :(
I think I'm just going to go with Logitech Brio. My buddy has one and the video quality from it is amazing, it's totally worth the price.
Elgato looks like sh%t, especially for the price. Nvm, it's decent on the 2nd test, but terrible for $200.
Watch alpha gaming video and stfu that webcam is good
You have to use the software
they are still working on the software, linus already said elgato will fix this soon
@@Bees37 Alpha gaming is Elgato sponsored... he was bashing webcams 3 months ago.. now he is repping Elgato like they are god's gifts
@@Bees37 is it $200 good though? Seems like for that price you can do much better.
Man I have missed this channel. So glad to see Dimitri his face again!
This was a superb review. You got a subs for this humongous work.
Awaiting for the next Brio. The current Brio is coming 5 years old tech and still standing strong among the competition.
Very nice review. On point explanations. Hats off. 😀
Thank you for this video, I'm looking for a webcam to buy, this video was so very helpful.
I liked your in depth review of many webcams, their is no way I could buy so many and try them out myself. I liked the low priced vs. the higher priced. And it was cool you tried each camera in an office environment and then a web steaming environment. It was good to have other hardware reviewers comments.
I have learned to trust your professional opinion.
Today or tomorrow when I make my purchase I'll use your links.
I really need a wevcam but had no idea what to look for. this video was super helpful! thank you guys!
Razer Kiyo Pro is less than half price on Amazon right now which makes it the best buy today.
