I use the Logitech Brio Camera often. You can connect it to a stand or tripod. All you have to do is take off the monitor clip from the bottom of the camera. The Logitech camera has been around for some time and the features are well documented. Please consider looking at the products a bit closer when offering a review like this as I use the Brio as an overhead camera without any issues. But thanks for the overall review as this has made me look into the Razor camera as a secondary option.
The Brio is awful for its price. Been using it for three years now and I would not buy it when there are new, superior, alternatives on the market that didn't exist back when the Brio released.
@@drinkwater9891 I've used droidcam before and if you don't mind not being able to use your phone during the meeting/recording/presentation/whatever you need the webcam for, then it's a great solution. My four year old phone has vastly superior camera quality to my Brio 4k. You'll probably need to buy some type of stand or mount though.
Razer's cam has no business being that good for a webcam, it absolutely blew all the other webcams away for way less than the 1080p pro camera (particularly once you factor in all the kit needed to use it)
Based on my experience, the Razer webcam certainly didn't blow all other webcams away. Also my experience with Razer kit is that it tends to deteriorate quite quickly and I'd seriously question it's robustness. I tend to move around with kit and robustness matters a lot to me and on that basis I've dismissed Razer as an option and tend to avoid their kit. If I'm going to invest that much in kit I want something that will last so on that basis, Razer just isn't for me. Logitech have a good reputation for a reason but I'm starting to like Elgato's kit more and more, especially their software.
Other way around, a lot of the other products have no business being priced as high as they are. Elgato for example 50% of the price is just the branding. But in case of Razer, all their s@*t is literally designed to break (planned obsolescence). Sadly alot of companies intentionally design their products to fail after a set time frame (generally just long enough for your average consumer to consider buying another one). Its a way for companies to double dip on sales numbers without having to constantly innovate.

I used that eMeet and the Brio. For the Brio, I've had to get one replaced as the first stopped talking to the computer, and now my second is having a blurry feed. eMeet was always nice as a side camera, but if your lighting changes at all, the camera struggled. You can pull off the stand to get it to show the connection, it shows that in the box
The ZV-E 10 had a lot of AI processing enabled and didn't look very nice. Tweaking with it's settings would actually show how powerful it is. I have the a6000 and got a cheap $20 capture card and it looks amazing, similar to what he showed in the video.
I had the Logitech c270 for a LONG time and over all I was really happy with it. I didn't care for something like super high end at the time but it was able to look great for the price. I still think it holds up now for someone who is starting out and can upgrade later down the road.
Do NOT try and unscrew the monitor mount on the BRIO. Pull it straight out. You'll see why when you do. There's two grooves on the plug that fit into two slots in the screw threads.
Hard to follow which cameras are which.. I would suggest next video like this, Always have text-overlay with Name+Price to showcase which video cam we are currently watching. As it's not always clear from audio.
This was a great video. Probably the best I've seen on the subject, but reading through the comments, I feel the need to give my 2 cents. I have the Kijo Pro and Facecam Pro, along with a ton of other webcams, a mirrorless, a DSLR, and a camcorder that I've used for streaming. I too was impressed with the Kijo out of the box. Razer is really good about having their products configured very well from the factory. It doesn't hold a candle to the Facecam once it's fully dialed in though. That's where the Facecam's real magic lies. With the exposure, iso, white-balance, focus, etc all set manually, I would choose the Facecam Pro over the Kijo Pro almost always, at least for my use cases. And it does matter exactly how you'll be using them, your setting, and how technical you want to get in setting them up. The one area where the Facecam is arguably inferior to the Kijo is the saturation of background lighting in extreme situations. It tends to over saturate a bit, but only when I have bright colored lights in the background and only with certain colors. When the background is a bit dimmer or less colorful, it looks more true to life. And honestly, I kind of like how it looks over saturated. It's more how I wish my lighting looked. I use a green screen most of the time now though, so background lighting isn't a concern at all. For this purpose, I think my Facecam Pro is my best looking camera I have hands down. It looks better than my "real cameras" when all I have to do is record my face. That 4k level of detail is really insane. It has a very wide FoV, so I use it cropped in a lot and it still looks fantastic.
@@borisfarber8451 If there is no limit on budget, and I mean no limit, a Sony ZV-1 oe even ZV-E1 with a Camlink would be best, but that is way more pricey and a bit more complicated than a plug n play webcam. If you are going to be walking around, the Insta360 would probably suit you well. If you are going to only have the camera focused on something static like the whiteboard and can fix the focus to a single point, my recommendation would have to be the Facecam Pro. It is 4K60 and has a ton of manual adjustments you can make to really dial everything in perfectly. But the non Pro Facecam and the Razer Kiyo Pro 4k will also look quite good as well. I think the Facecam Pro will handle contrast with the whiteboard the best with a bit of manual adjustments though.

If you are recording more dynamic stuff like using it in different rooms or with different colors and brightness of white light, or if you are moving more than like 4ft difference in distance, the Kiyo is probably better since I think the auto settings are a bit better.

So I would like to have the video from the camera and the voice from the external USB-C mic. Do you have any idea on how to do that? If I record myself with just the camera it will also pick up the audio in the background with the gameplay from the PS5..even if I have an external Sony mic for it (that because I'll not be using headphones for the PS5). :)) Any idea on how to record my face in 4K and have the audio in the recording from the powerful external mic? 4K capture card, maybe? Hi The Video Nerd, I have a question. So, if I use external webcam on laptop.. It will be attached & detached activities then?? What I mean is when you want to use it, you need to attach the webcam on laptop. Then if you wanna close the laptop, you have to detach the webcam as well right??
Great review! thank you. Question, are there any webcams that can also be used independently just as a camera, without being plugged into a computer or some other device? I know the Sony that you showed us is a regular camera but I was hoping that there's something in the 100-dollar range like the Razr, that could be used as a stand alone camera.
My Razer Kiyo Pro has a lot of grain and noise in the image. I have 3 lights on me so I think I have enough light. I've updated to the latest firmware and tried adjusting all the settings but any tips to improve this or how much light do I actually need? Also I took the one I had back to the store and exchanged it for another with the same issue so it must be something I'm doing.
@@TH-camrMaskarado no, I suspect it’s just I don’t have my overhead light on in the room because it’s too bright and blows out the image. Since I stream using my MacBook, my phone just connects on its own I haven't used the phone because I use the phone to monitor the stream but I might have to try the phone soon, when I start streaming my PlayStation gameplay.
I got the razor… immediately!!!
Definitely a great watch , till the end………………..
I thought the Sony ZV-E10 was only 720 for streaming. I currently have the Logitech Brio. In really good lighting it's fantastic, but in low light, it starts to loose a fair bit of quality. I really enjoyed this review though. Subscribed! :)
It’s 720p if it is through a USB-C cable, instead of an HDMI. With HDMI it is 1080p or 4K depending on settings
Hi The Video Nerd,
I have a question.
So, if I use external webcam on laptop..
It will be attached & detached activities then??
What I mean is when you want to use it, you need to attach the webcam on laptop. Then if you wanna close the laptop, you have to detach the webcam as well right??
1 year later. He never responded...
Can I use the Razer Pro on IMac?
Great review! thank you.
Question, are there any webcams that can also be used independently just as a camera, without being plugged into a computer or some other device?
I know the Sony that you showed us is a regular camera but I was hoping that there's something in the 100-dollar range like the Razr, that could be used as a stand alone camera.
Best video on great niche, just love it
super helpful vid thanks dude!
Mate you are wrong about the Brio, you can take off the base and then you have the slot to put it on any camera device.
Thank you Jelle.. 💪🏻
Nice background.. 😍
My Razer Kiyo Pro has a lot of grain and noise in the image. I have 3 lights on me so I think I have enough light. I've updated to the latest firmware and tried adjusting all the settings but any tips to improve this or how much light do I actually need? Also I took the one I had back to the store and exchanged it for another with the same issue so it must be something I'm doing.
did you fix it?
@@TH-camrMaskarado no, I suspect it’s just I don’t have my overhead light on in the room because it’s too bright and blows out the image. With the light off there’s not enough room light in the frame even though I’m well lit. I exchanged the camera for another the same and same issue with grain and noise. If there’s a fix I don’t know it.
The razer adds like a weird dark outline of your body making it look like you're using a green screen and like the background isn't real lol.
So what the best of camera? For you?
The razer may be the move, I have a Sony A7IV and V but not tryna fry them with the dummy batteries
We need a youtube talking setup
yo use it in the dark (only RGB n the background)
What stand are u using
Great video! Extremely helpful info. Thank you very much :)
I’m looking for video recording, not streaming. Does it have the same quality when recording or are they only good for streaming?
Nice Video. Keep it up.
Bro how you record the facecam and screen recording in two file by using obs at same time
Great video but for me personally my Iphone 14 doesnt connect to the pc, i got everything installed but with even with an usb cable there is no connection.
I use the Brio all the time and I love it. The only thing is...I use streamyard. Streamyard doesnt have 4k. But it still is a champion at 1080 p.
You can do 4k with the brio. The only way you can get this is my using a USB 3.0 cable and a USB 3.0 port on your PC.
I've been waiting for this video 🔥
Why not do these tests without using osb?
I currently have a Canon R6 that I used for photography. Would I be able to use that as a webcam for streaming? If so, what additional cables/devices would I need?
you have to check and see which cameras can do that for a long period of time. some will straight up not like that and overheat. you could consider using a camcorder and hooking that up somehow.
Can the razor webcam work good if I am far back
I believe you should have 1million subs
