I just did this mod on my Optimus Polaris! Works like charm. Along with having installed the Quietstove Silent MUTER Damper Cap, It's a Wonderful Setup!
Cool. Note: I see these filters offered optionally in 310S stainless steel *or* FeCrAl alloy. I wonder whether the aluminum in the latter composition would risk galvanic corrosion with the brass. Hopefully the sellers don't ship the wrong version. Can't use a magnet to check for the steel version since 310S is non-magnetic. Any other handy way to check?
I think you dont need to see that so heavy. If the entire device would be made out of copper and the mesh out of aluminium, then yeah after a few days you would see the result 😂 I dont know the distance between brass and aluminium regarding the voltage potential, but it should be in some books. FeCrAi, Iron, Chrome, Aluminium Hmmm... Strange situation; i dont know a way to check it too but i think you can just try it with a strong magnet because the FeCrAi alloy is maybe a little bit magnetic. But the Ai part of the alloy is not that big (maybe just a few percent?) I would observe it time by time if there is happening any reaction. But if your cooker is always dry then i think it will take a long time to see anything
According to chatgpt 310s is more likely to cause galvanic corrosion on brass. However using a small piece of original pad as insulator between brass burner and metal pad would minimize direct contact between these 2 materials.
Great video and thank you for sharing this information. I am going to do similar upgrade on my omnifuel too.

Hi where did you buy the part from thanks
Best upgrade ever
Fantastic, will definitely give it a try. Thankyou.
Thank you! The original replacement felt is so expensive and only last a short time!
Fascinating!!
Cool.

Looks good. Wonder how carbon felt would work. I have whole blankets of that stuff lol
I used Kevlar on mine but that looks very good too! Do you know the weight?
I'd love a link or product name / code to order one!
Primus shops stock is the worst
You can find it in any place like Amazon, aliexpress, eBay...
Search for "webasto burner mesh"
Can you video how you dissamble the stove?
There is already a video about that.
Hi,
2 years after, what do you think of your pad ?
Works great until now!
What should happen with a pad made of stainless steel?
