  • At LeBron James's age and history in the NBA, it's almost a certainty there are abnormal changes in his knee even though they might not amount to enough severity to describe them in a press release. LeBron made some new comments about his knee health today and we'll review what it all means in this video!

I appreciate you breaking down the whole “no structural damage” mri for everyone who might not understand. I played ultimate frisbee at one of the highest level of the sport for a while. For the past 2 years I’ve dealt with patellar tendinopathy. The two mris I’ve had have come back “no structural damage” but that doesn’t mean I’m fine. I haven’t been able to run consistently for these past 2 years and it’s so frustrating to know I have wear in my knee that can’t be fixed with surgery. Most likely the cartilage is worn and I have to accept I will never be the same. I’m only 23 but I expect to need a knee replacement at some point in my life. To go from being a great athlete to struggling to walk a mile without severe knee pain and inflammation is tough, more mentally than physically

I know how it feels also but in other important part of the body . Once the knee ,hip , and back go out it’s something we have to deal with for the rest of are life. I’m also the same age and the mental part is definitely true. This shit either makes you or break you!!

Don't give up man, I'm in a similar situation. I'm almost 27. I've had patellar tendinopathy since i was 16. And let me tell you I WISH that was the only issue I had lol. I'm not losing hope and I believe in our bodies ability to heal with patience and the right progressions. Currently facing a huge setback, but I keep believing. Goal is to dunk by the age of 30 with no pain!

Great timing, I had my right knee shot up today. Anyone who has played sports at the minimum of a highschool varsity level and even more so with college sports experience is aware; Not only are there very few people that are great athletes but there are far fewer humans that are great athletes who actually have a body that can even take the beating to get to a pro level. What is harder for me to understand than the athletic ability, is the durability your body has to have to survive say, a 15 year career as a defensive end, linebacker, safety or running back in the NFL; let alone a 20+ year NBA career. These humans are truly outliers even beyond just athletic ability.
