  • Bandai's SD EX Standard line surprises many (but excited few) with the Nu Gundam, going nicely as a pair with the Sazabi. Hobby Clubhouse takes a comprehensive look at the budget kit and gets to the bottom of what the 660 yen price tag gets you!

    Only been into Gunpla for a couple months now. This wasn't my first SD kit (that'd be the Qubeley!) but it was my 2nd. I'm just kinda happy to know my issues with the stickers weren't only _my_ problems. One popped off (elbow back) and a lot of them kept popping up. Also I uh... I tried putting the stickers on while way too tired and put the shoulder emblem on the wrong side, haha.
    But I eventually wanna learn how to properly paint my kits, so I made a promise to the little guy to fix his sticker woes eventually. I don't look at the kit as a failure, just as a project I can keep working on a little further down the line. I've got the Sazabi, too, but I haven't started on it yet.

      The Sazabi is a lot more humane with his stickers. The stickers on my Nu Gundam have lifted themselves off all over the place sinxe the review, it's quite annoying.
      But it's always good to see starter kits inspire more people to paint kits:) I was like that too myself

      Same boat. Will the Gundam markers be better?

    Why didn't you compare this SD EX Standard Nu Gundam with the Renewal version of the SD BB Senshi Nu Gundam that was released in 2014? That SD kit is better than the older SD Nu Gundam kit you compared it with the SD EX Standard Nu Gundam in the video.

      The poor EX Standard Nu wouldn't stand a chance against that one... It didn't even manage to compare well against the cheaper BB Senshi Nu. Show mercy for the poor thing:)

    Picked this one up yesterday with another one for like 10 euros total. I love the looks of those small gundams.

      They really are easy on the wallet for a fun little kit to enjoy

    I would absolutely love this kit for customization but it has no business existing due to its appeal to new builders.

      I think it's quite a good source for parts, like mixing the head with other kits. The gun really can't be fixed easily being so skinny

      To be honest I'm getting this as my first kit so I guess it has some business existing.

    Perfect review before the holidays. I may look for a BBSenshi. The paitning and masking would be way too hard.

      The later BB Senshi No.387 Nu Gundam has proportions closer to the EX Standard and is an even better kit, like the previous commenter said, so you can consider that too.
      There'll be more videos over the holiday weekend so hope you'll enjoy those too:)

      Yeah, people on the Internet scratched their heads and wondered that too. I personally suspect they may be projects left over from before and then finished off to get their money back

      @HobbyClubhouse  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's incredibly frustrating when there are so many stickers you can't even hold the kit without damaging them

      It's indeed quite sad when a product meant to be simple and fun can end up disappointing people looking forward to it
