I just bought the sk8 hi mte 3... havent tried them yet... i live in toronto so we get nasty snow days... but its been pretty chill this year... cant wait to slug around in snow banks in them
That was crazy, thanks for the comment! I really am impressed with them. I haven't been wearing them on snowpack and ice tho and all my pavement pounding every day in sales seems to be taking a toll on the soft sole.
I have the VANS ULTRARANGE EXO HI GORE-TEX MTE-2 and they overheat my feet. Tried them again today and again burning and itchy feet. They are beautiful and light.
These are one hail of a pair of boots! Great review and edit too! Now I know what you do for work, you get paid to walk around a Ford dealership all day, lol!✌
That’s so funny! I wish I got paid by the mile lol - insane how many miles a day I can average! I worked at a bigger store years ago and had some 15 plus miles days that’s a hustle. Definitely takes a toll on you though lots of us old car dogs have knee and foot issues from decades of doing this in dress shoes… ugh
@@boisebroncoadventures well, looks as though those Vans are super cushy! I already looked them up online this morning. I'm not a high top wearing dude, I'm more into low and mid top boots and shoes. We just got back from hiking and exploring Tucson and I was wearing my Solomon Speedcross 4 lightweight low top shoes and they were super comfortable.
Good question! I am finding these perfect for days when temps are 40s and low 50s as the cold pavement and addition of me constantly being in and out. I have bad circulation in my hands and feet so they get cold easily. If your just standing and not doing much physical activity they should be about right. Especially with a lighter or standard sock.
I just got the mte-1 ultrarange for the winter here in the south. It's not the worst winter but it stays wet and cold enough to suck. Im happy with them so far but haven't gotten a chance to use them in the elements as its been warm here all week. I'll post an update in a few months to let you know how they hold up.
Right on, please DO! I have had mine in some snow finally and the traction is amazing! Most impressive on the hard pack ice stuff. Even been taking them on ski trips and wearing them outside of work.
Good question! I should have mentioned that I do wear great thermal socks when using my boots, wool - as I am not a fan cotton materials when in the cold.
I have been happy with the performance of mine and am planning on a 1 year review soon. The 3 most definitely is a step up but for my climate and use this has been great. The only disappointing tho g - prolonged use on asphalt and pavement does wear the soles fast. Much like winter tires on spring conditions…
@@boisebroncoadventures I would love a 1 year review! I'm about to buy my sk8-hi MTE, but still deciding if I take the same model as yours or Gore-Tex MTE-3. I live in Brazil, so maybe MTE-3 is a little bit too much, in terms of insulation, but I'm buying one to use on my urbex tours.
Great Review! I just got mines and I hope they survive a music festival that I’m having in the upcoming days, will be a great test!
I hope so too! Thanks for the feedback!

The traction on ice and hard pack snow rocks
Nice Boot and very Funny test under that crazy Storm!!!

Yikes, I also have the Destruct mid that I’ve been wearing this spring. Definitely heavier but not as hot

@@billythephoenix my last 2 pair of winter boots were made by Salomon - they make some good boots no doubt!
@@boisebroncoadventures Just realized my spelling error...Salomon not Solomon...hate when that happens! And yes, a great brand indeed!
If you were to be in a warmer climate, would these make your feet too hot or is there some sort of nice airflow?

Excellent review man, thanks.
Thank you! Still liking them just as much, snowy weather and cold temps still impressive!

Would you pair these with thermal socks or are these More than enough to keep your feet warm?

@@boisebroncoadventures did you go a size bigger to be able to use the thermals or your actual size ?
Thanks
@@jesse0M I did not size up and find the fit good
can you use these for hiking
They would be great for colder weather hikes
Subscribed, looks like a seasoned YTuber already. 😊
Thanks man! Still so much I want to improve about our content next year!
Great review!
Thanks! 1 year update coming soon!
Is this true to size? My son's feet is 10.5 us should i get the exact size or should i size up a bit? Thank you
I sized up half a size because of the heavy wool socks I wear. They do seem true to size.
@@boisebroncoadventures thank you

mte 2 sucks.. maybe 3 is good

@@AlineJobSupergamer the added insulation and goretex is worth the upgrades if your using them. I found the 2 a perfect “in between” for my needs.
