DAMN that was good. The whole band is absolutely top shelf, yet they need to be, as they're covering one of the greatest bands ever that was comprised of ONLY three musicians. Adding the legendary Mike Portnoy in for Neil and also that georgeous female vocalist with the sassy, edgy and buttery, Pat Benetar style chops singing Geddy Lee's part and sounding like him, was just amazing! Fortunately, it probably wasn't too bad for him. That kit had a pretty similar basic layout to the kits he used in DT, and most of his other post-DT prog-rock groups. But if YYNOT's drummer had been using a 1 to 1 imitation of Neil's setup, that probably would have tripped him up a lot more. Neil's layout from 1995 onward was a bit unorthodox.
@@generay6807 That has to be such a pain in the ass for lefty's, especially for gigging players who have to use house kits a lot. I'd imagine learning to play open-handed is a necessity.

Portnoy and band, right on my man. Good enough to love hearing the song and different enough to miss Neil and the band. So many years since that song was created and we have enjoyed Rush for so long amd now it seems like it's flown by and those in my age group, mid fifties would love to have some of that time back. More than anything we are all very blessed with the time we have and to be blessed with talents to use them in that time. Mike I appreciate your talent and continued drive my man. Very cool indeed. I was just thinking that I'd have liked to hear it with the bass volume upped 10% and the guitar 20%, maybe more. Seemed a bit tame, and that had nothing to do with how it was being played. Having wished for a bit more aggressive sound before, I gotta say especially the singer made it really come to life. All in all a really great cover, you could tell already by the first notes.
This was playing in a background tab and I didn't realize it wasn't a live Rush version for about five minutes when I switched over to see. Fucking amazing.

I've heard of YYN before but never watched a video and tbh only clicked on this one because MP was playing, but now I'll be looking for more because this was excellent in every department.
Check out YYNOT's original studio albums, they will not disappoint! The 2022 album "Light and Shade" is a beginning to end masterpiece. They take many cues from Rush, but by the end of that album - you will realize they are certainly their own band.
Sounds great. I teared up a little when the singer came in with "we've taken care of everything". it's great to see Rush music and spirit live on after the band is gone.
Nicely done. RUSH is the band that you try explaining to kids when they say they have good music. I feel sorry for other generations who’ve missed out.
How unbelievably awesome! Incredible performance, and you got to do it with Portnoy. The music sounds flawless, and for me Patty is outstanding on vocals. She can pull off the edge and energy of early Geddy while still bringing her own personality to the stage. Yall are a fantastic band!
I know most fans here are happy to see Portnoy on the drums, even I like him.......I give a big shout out to Mike Hetzel, HE is my drum hero. And of course....Billy is my guitar hero, Tim my bass hero and Patty is a star.
Glad they have a female to do Geddys vocals. Like I was not expecting how hard she could sing his part. I was at first content at not having to hear an off key grumbly male voice. I was absolutly blown away by her sinigng and the drums. Glad he's repping Neil, too. shout out to the man above

Holy Hell!!! That was one of the most enjoyable musical experiences I've had in a long, long time. The opening part to 2112 seems so incredibly difficult to get right, with the flowing guitar riffs, lightning fast transitions, and Geddy's stratospheric registers (his later live performances never managed to capture that energy, when his voice was suffering)... and they just killed it. When Patty's vocals started in, my jaw just fell open, and stayed that way through to the end! Chills, and goosebumps, the whole time.
This sent chills up my spine and gave me goosebumps..Spot-on awesome perfect performances from everyone on that stage. I really wish I could have been there to see and hear the whole show in person.
Hats off to this band and foremost Geddy Lee. This girl singer had to squat and sing her ass off to replicate what Geedy did for years while playing bass, foot pedals and keyboard at the same time. She nailed it note for note while simultaneously looking hot as fire. Every dude that's a Rush fan would marry her in a second because girls that are into Rush are rare.
