After owning two of these bikes, the warm up procedure isn't about letting it sit for 5 minutes until warm. Its better too start the bike IF it needs the choke then keep it enabled and reduce slowly as she begins running without. Once the choke is off which should be about 10-30 seconds depending on the tempreture outside then leave her for about 1 minute as you put your helmet, gloves and zip up the jacket. Then set off on your journey but gentle under 5k revs until she is upto temp then slowly start using the rev range. Never had a sieze but maintenance at 10k miles do a top end rebuild, keep some sparkies in your backpack as no doubt you will foul a plug at some point. Fantastic bikes if you treat them right, I always used premix over relying on the oil drip feed system after running 2stroke dirt bikes. Everyone i knew that used the oil feed system used to sieze or blow the rings, As you know once you close the throttle lubrication is limited on the piston which causes most siezes. Can be a faff making premix but i feel you getting overall better running bike once you dial it in the the correct needles and mix.
Same mate I had a white pogialli rep 2005 loved it I never let it go above 6000 revs before 65 degrees n it never gave me any issues I’m about to go look at one on Friday exact same as my old one I can’t wait haha
When you say good mechanical background... could I learn to look after it.? I really want one of these but I keep getting scared cos of how unreliable they are
It all depends on how good you are at picking things up if look though me video you was sort of thing im talking about but I dose help have the now how
I just bought an Extrema 1997 two weeks ago. I can't go above 8000rpm. I checked powervalve and carburator but both are fine. My spark plug looks too rich but I don't know why. I don't get much power
I would one off two things you Man jet is too big and boring you down or you bike is still Restricted which you will need to Modify the ecu thay are video on it hope this helps
Just make sure it's warmed up before going out and don't thrash it within an inch of its life every day and you will be fine Being a 2 stroke if anything they are easier to work on and are very basic so if you need to get your hands dirty buy a manual and use some common sense
I had rs4 125 worst bike I’ve ever owned constantly things going wrong with it , parts are hard to find or have to order from Germany or Italy so no easy fix for anything

A very important maintanance is cleaning and adjusting the Rave Valve.

Always keep a two stroke topped up with decent oil and and run it properly before riding and you won’t go wrong with a 2 stroke

What temperature do you have it reading before setting off for a ride?
I noally let it get to about 60
The fuse location really annoys me, i had someone pull a fuse when the bike was parked i had to push it home....
