Thanks for taking the time to do the review! These 5.11 pants are sort of rare to see in person and -- prior to ordering -- it was great to see all the TH-cam vids to get an idea about what the pants were like. Hey, the "pen pocket" from 10:00 mins at your video is actually a "clip garage", as they call it. It keeps the end of a pocket knife clip from interfering with the cargo pocket flap (or vice versa). To anyone on the fence, these pants are super well made and are totally worth the money.
Of course we're listening! :) Thanks for your helpful feedback on the knife pocket. Now we just need to get a 5.11 knife in that pocket! Outstanding, thorough review. Thank you!
snareman95: TH-cam's source for 1st class tactical pants reviews! I have to say, your reviews are the only ones I have found that meet or exceed the quality or thoroughness of Nutnfancy's reviews. Well done, sir!
A lot of thought went into these pants. I picked up a two pairs from my local Academy and have zero complaints. Great work pants, and makes traditional 100% cotton khakis feel a little antiquated.
Cool pants. I just might have to get a pair now. I just ordered the Trainers a few days ago, got them for $75.99 +3 pairs of 5.11 sock +free shipping +free 5.11 boot knife. Good ass deal! I love 'em even though my girlfriend said "those are ugly". Lol
Thanks, will probably buy a pair, expensive though! They've obviously taken some of the new features from Blackhawk etc but I love my 511 Taclite pros, these I think I'd like even better.
I really like these 5.11 Flex Stryke Pant. The fit isn't as baggy yet there is as much if not more room for movement than the 5.11 Tactical Pro. The fit is much more professional looking. The pocket layout of the Stryke Pant is prefered.
I can never compromise on the rear pockets of the original 5.11. The angle cut of the rear pocket makes for very easy in an out of wallet and or papers and when sitting down the wallet moves to the side so that I am not sitting on it which makes my chiropractor very happy,
I agree. I love my Vertx too. They are coming out with a more overt style which I'm looking forward to. I also miss the D ring on the Flextacs though. Just got a pair of Woolrich Elite which are pretty nice.
No generally in the same size except for the Vertx which I get an inch larger in the waist. The flextacs I've had have seemed to run a little short so I did buy my last pair 2" longer.
Yeah. Got a pair & they pretty much rock. I've worn all kinds of tac pants over the years & found most of them to be meh. Including Tac Lite Pro. I've never seen the wide appeal of them. They're OK. Not great. These Stryke pants are great. Super comfy especially if you need mobility and range of motion. Big improvement. Good channel BTW. I'll be checking out.
@511Tactical Glad you enjoyed it thanks!! I should have thrown my 5.11 knife in the pocket for the video. 5.11 needs to come out with a rescue knife like that Benchmade Triage. Its great for work.
They are pretty good pants. The Taclites while still good and probably the style that sort of started it all have definitely been surpassed by better options I think.
I went to an RCMP camp and we were given cargo pants during the time we were there, which they took away at the end of the camp, and I've wanted cargo pants ever since! the problem is, I don't know the brand, but the pair I had were so comfy and perfect for the stuff I like to do that I don't want to buy a different style...
8 ปีที่แล้ว
+Jordan Haines They probably were BDU pants, in which case it doesn't matter the brand since the cut is always the same. They could also be 5.11 Taclite Pro pants, or the Tactical 100% cotton version. But probably not the Stryke pants, they are 20 bucks more expensive than your average cargo pant.
I read another review of these pants a while ago, and the reviewer was supposedly able to fit 2 p-mags with ranger plates in each of the cargo pockets just fine, while still being able to close them. He's a pretty big guy though (the ones he reviewed were 38x36) so on larger pairs the cargo pockets may be able to hold significantly more.
@snareman95 thank you sir! i may consider getting stryke pants. nothing else in the front right pocket except for the snub. i usually have a spyderco in the front slit pocket too. it helps break up the gun outline even more. tuff speedstrips in tuff wallet in right cargo pocket. keys, wallet and cellphone all on weak side pockets. these pants are great for daily civvie use + weekend warrior stuff. :-)
@snareman95 That has never been the case. I love your reviews and more information is always better. I have been buying the tru spec 24-7 cuz they're a bit cheaper but I do have a few taclite pros as well. These Stryke pants are way too expensive for my budget but they appear to be very well made. Thanks again for another wonderful review.
@iCTgreen You're right. There is no perfect pant, but I definitely have ideas for what things I'd put together to make what I think would be the perfect pant for me. I LOVE the knife pocket on the Tru-specs. There are a few other things. I've suggested some things to 5.11 but I'm not sure how much they will take it into consideration. I do know they listen to their customers, but I don't see the SM tactical series coming anytime soon. If you can convince them to start it I'd be on board. :-)
@77friedchicken The flextacs have a larger pocket opening. If you have a knife or anything in the front taclite pocket it is very hard to get your hand in and around it. Although if you're pocket carrying there is probably nothing else in your pocket. Anyway, the flextacs have larger openings.
@evilassaultweaponeer Thanks for the kind words! :-) Sometimes I'm afraid that I'm getting too detailed and long winded and people are going to fall asleep. :-)
@chuckv5150 Thanks. It seems that all of these pants and clothing in general just keep getting more expensive, regardless of brand. Thankfully, they also seem to be getting better made as well.
You speaketh in the lingo of the medicine. :-) Classically, those superior medial holes I believe are to allow men to pull their shirts in. Most dress pants have them.
Great review on the pants, just have one question for you. I know it has noting to do with review, but would like to know what watch your wearing in this video.
great review! If you don't mind me asking, how tall and what kind of build are you? I ask because I've never bought a tactical pant before and usually wear a 32/30 in jeans.
I don't think that was its intended use, but I have sometimes tried to angle my knife clips down towards it. I think I remember 5.11 talking about it being for pens. I never use it for one though.
I'm 5'7". Compared to all of the other 32x30 tactical pants I own, these are short. They didn't shrink much with washing them I don't think, so they must just be made shorter. I'd like to them to be about an inch longer
I just go these and I love them! Do you have any idea why there are holes in the medial superior portion of each of the side pockets? I just noticed today that my thumbs can stick through them and I could feel my underwear. They have reinforced stitching around the holes so they must be there on purpose. Not really sure what they are there for though...
Thanks for the review, liked! I was wondering how these pants are on the thighs. I wear 30x32 but have trouble finding pants sometimes because of squats! If you could give me the measurement for how wide the pants are on the upper thighs/quads, it would help me. Thanks!
do you order tactical pants different than you do denim jeans? im a 30x32 for jeans and bought a pair of blackhawk tactical pants but they are pretty roomy and i have too much leg room to the point where it looks baggy. have you had this problem?
I just got these pants in a 40 x 32, I wear 36 30 usually when I'm not too fat. But these are pretty snug in the butt and thighs for me. Its pretty loose in the waist though. I like the pants but you should buy up one size in the waist or it will be tight unless your pretty skinny.
One more thing, you may have already realized this, but that small opening at the top of the cargo pocket, is not for a pen, it's for the bottom part of the pocket clip on your knife to prevent snagging. UPDATE: I see this issue has already been addressed by a previous comment.
hello. would flextac stryke be more friendly to pocketcarry vs taclite pro? how do the front pocket sizes & openings compare? i have both taclite pro & covert cargo, wondering if i should get flextac. my taclite pro can frontpocketcarry my 2" spurless ruger sp101 in galco just right. my glock 27 in galco prints a bit more, though it's still doable (but drawing the g27 is so much more harder vs the ruger). the covertcargo can pocket carry anything great but i don't like the cotton much. tnx!
just a few days ago, i bought my first tactical pants. and it was this 5.11 flextac. it consisted of 65/35 poly/cotton blend. however, i saw 1 item at the store that is also a flextac but has diff mat'l composition. it has flextac fabric on it. does this mean that the one i bought, which is a 65/35 poly/cotton blend is not expandable/stretchable?
Nice review, thanks. I just got a pair the other day and I'm a bit perplexed. Mine have a hole in the side pockets. Normally side pockets are sewn flush with the waistband but these have a part of the pocket that's not and it has an intentional hole at the top. The only thing I can think of is perhaps for a concealed wire but haven't found anything on the web to confirm it. Does your pants have this too and any idea what it's for?
Thanks. You mean the large flap pockets? Yes, mine have those. The only thing I have used it for it to put a pen in, although the knife clip usually gets in the way.
SnareMan No, I mean that inside the side pockets at one corner (on both pockets) there is a hole and the pocket fabric itself is not sewn to the waistband. This appears to be intentional though the only thing I can think of is a concealed wire.
john smith You mean the hole in the area if you put your hand into the pocket and extended your thumb towards the button in the middle? Dress pants have had those for a long time I think for tugging your shirt down. At least, again, that's the use I know of it for.
I am probably wrong but what if the pen hole on the cargo pockets is actually for longer pocket knife clips to slide into so you can still open you cargo flaps without the clip restrict the flap opening of the flap pushing your pocket knife up and out.
Hi, great review, I work down in Saudi in the desert and offshore. How do these handle heat and humidity, separately and together? I usually buy cheap stuff, but most of it doesn't last a trip. False economy Nice panerai btw
Thanks. Sorry for the delay. I haven't worn these in super hot weather for a long time as I'd usually wear shorts, but I think they would do decently well and you shouldn't have the problems with them falling apart. The Panerai is a bad habit. :-)
SnareMan no problem at all, thanks, I'll get a few pairs ordered up. Longs are better in the desert as there's scorpions and camel spiders around. I know what you mean about panerai ;)
SnareMan well got a few pairs ordered and have spent a couple weeks, plus 12 hours on a plane in them. These things feel like sweat pants in terms of comfort and stretch. Will let you know how they get on with a few weeks in the desert
@snareman95 Thanks for the reply! You know, you seem to have great insight & experience with these type of products; ever thought about designing "the ultimate" pair of tactical pants? Thanks for the comment. I have noticed that the clip goes down into there so I guess its working. :-)
That pen pocket is actually a place for the pocket clip of your knife to go into with out getting in the way of the cargo pocket.
Of course we're listening! :) Thanks for your helpful feedback on the knife pocket. Now we just need to get a 5.11 knife in that pocket! Outstanding, thorough review. Thank you!
Produk 5.11 vs. Brand Viktos Oregon yang terbaik yang saya alami dan rasakan membeli produk OEM,👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I have 3 flex strikes in black, tundra and OD Green. Love the look of them
what a great and thorough review on an interesting product. Well made, and nice comparisons. Appreciate you posting this
Super thorough and detailed review. Bravo!
Thanks Misha!

I agree. You get spoiled by all the pockets and suddenly have to figure out where to put everything in regular pants.
Like your watch collection, especially the Panerai!!!!
Best pants I've ever had
Good review!
Thanks! They are great pants.
Thanks. I appreciate it! I try to make them useful. :-) I just bought another pair of Stryke pants yesterday.
Thanks. I agree, the Taclites were once the only choice, but now there are many better choices.

Very objective. Excellent review sir!

Best pants made so far.
Thanks! Glad to have you aboard.
Great review, thank you.
You're welcome. Thanks!
"Pen pocket" accommodates the clip of a knife, preventing it from snagging when knife is carried in front pocket
No generally in the same size except for the Vertx which I get an inch larger in the waist. The flextacs I've had have seemed to run a little short so I did buy my last pair 2" longer.
I agree, they are a much more slender cut with a better pocket layout than the Taclites.
Well like I said I didn’t think I was right just maybe just a thought. But great review I'm definitely a subscriber now.

Excellent review, thanks. One question - what's the diameter of the cellphone pockets?
I'd say these are better at holding color than the Taclites.
Sorry if this is in the review and I missed it, but do these pants have a double seat?
Excellent reviews, by the way. =)
Great review. I like the pants, but were did you get them for 65$?
@iCTgreen Sorry for the delay. They do not have a double seat.
Thanks for the review, liked! I was wondering how these pants are on the thighs. I wear 30x32 but have trouble finding pants sometimes because of squats! If you could give me the measurement for how wide the pants are on the upper thighs/quads, it would help me. Thanks!

How does this fabric hold up to fading, as compared to your black Tac Lite Pros? TIA!
How will these hold up in the brush? And how well will they breathe in the summer heat?
+steve4321able I think they would hold up just fine, although I could see the potential for them to get a bit warm.

Yea, I agree.
Hello ! Thank you for the review. How confortable are they in really hit days compared to the original taclite pro ?
They're equally as comfortable but the material stretches a little bit so that adds to the comfort
@@SnareMan sorry I meant really hot summer days
@@abouhafsasecret7909 oh, sorry. I'll work on my reading comprehension. I'd say they are pretty similar.

I want to buy a pair of Tactical pant. Ive come down to the 5.11 Taclite Pro or These please answer
Do these come flannel lined as an option?
Well, they could be used for that as well I suppose.
@duvaldrummer I'm 5'7", 160lbs. Just normal build I suppose.
are these baggy? they look kinda bulky and baggy like pants?
Hi, how tall are you? My normal pant size is also a 32x30. Just wondering so I can buy off of that reference point. Thanks.
@Castleknight Not as of yet anyway.
Hi, great review, I work down in Saudi in the desert and offshore. How do these handle heat and humidity, separately and together?
I usually buy cheap stuff, but most of it doesn't last a trip. False economy
Nice panerai btw
Thanks. Sorry for the delay. I haven't worn these in super hot weather for a long time as I'd usually wear shorts, but I think they would do decently well and you shouldn't have the problems with them falling apart. The Panerai is a bad habit. :-)

Edinburgh S I agree - the fabric is super comfy with its little bit of stretch
Is that a 511 belt as well?
No, its a Wilderness Tactical. thewilderness.com
Actually, these are one of the thinner cut pants I have.
@snareman95 Thanks for the reply!
You know, you seem to have great insight & experience with these type of products; ever thought about designing "the ultimate" pair of tactical pants? I'd buy 'em.
SnareMan The D-ring is an easy fix, go to Home Depot buy a D-ring and bend it open, then attach. Problem solved.
great idea!
20.45 mins on a pair of pants ?
If they are the 5.11 flextacs they should all be the same. The Taclites are not flexible if you by chance saw/got a pair of those.
Hey. ;-)
WHY ARE WE LOOKING AT THE GROUND?
