I was chosen and played in the McDonalds All Star and Optimist Coaches Association All Star game. I was also chosen 1st Team All Tournament and 1st Team All State. I then watched him win back to back World Championships in 1994 and 1995. The moral of the story is, there are Trophies ALL OVER THE PLACE because of #34 Hakeem the Dream Olajuwon. That's what makes him the Greatest Center of All Time.

A lot of today's C's can really shoot. they shoot jumpers, 3 ptr's..but Hakeem had a nasty game in the paint--he was rarely denied, his footwork was so amazing. Maybe today's Big C's don't really wan't to risk injury too much. A knocked knee can put a guy out for som time today. Another thing with Hakeem, his anatomy--he was a strong man, had strong knees and legs-he could dance in the paint and bang and jump with the best of them back in his day.

I was lucky enough to go to the Trailblazers summer camp in 93 when I was in high school and back when they had a great team. The Blazers head coach at the time Rick Adleman ran the camp and they brought in several of the players. Because my team won the camp tournament and my coach told coach Adleman that I was the reason we won, I got to run some drills with Drazen Petrovic one to one just me and him in front of the whole camp. The highlight of my playing career to be sure. That man was unreal.

I’m a Raptors fan and I remember being delighted the day they signed him to a two-year contract. Although he was in the twilight of his career, it still meant a lot to me. Wonderful to see that he’s still involved in the game of basketball!

“Hakeem the Dream” was one of my favorite NBA players back in the day! Big man had beautiful moves and foot work!
First saw him in the early 80s in college (Houston) when he couldn’t dribble and was fresh out of Nigeria. Just simple but effective post moves. He was so smooth doing these sons back then and shooting short range jump hooks that I knew he’d be great in the NBA. Didn’t realize he’d arguably one of the greatest if not the greatest all around centers in history.
