Brilliant....One of my gripes with the MC-101 IS the headphone socket location. The box design means you have to place the 101 at an angle to see the screen properly and if headphones are connect they get in the way. It boggles my mind how the design team overlooked this.....also, the headphone socket has a tendancy to work itself loose creating a wooble on the connector, I have opened up the MC-101 a few times to gently tighten the one screw that holds the headphone PCB in place. Definately a design flaw. It sounds great though....so I can overlook this.
Cheers. Yes, it does sound great. I've also found that the polarization on my sunglasses means I can't see the display when I wear them. i'll try different sunglasses when summer is here again.
Magnificent vibes! I just don’t know how to Save a sound I’ve made, without saving a whole project just for that. Save it as clip? I think a clip can be saved and loaded days later in any project together with its sounds? BTW you sense of harmony and composition is very beautiful!! Sometimes I feel those are diminished by the lack of the 101 to provide merging transitions between more contrasted tracks, I guess a solution would be to chain 3 bar clip to the final 1 bar clip that is different serving as transition…
I don't know how to do that yet, so save it in the project first, then you can figure it out. Might be an export option or something. I never read the manual :)
Very useful thanks. I have found that if I import a clip from one saved project to another when I load that song up again, the track is silent. What am I doing wrong? I saved the project and assumed the imported clip would be saved within it
Hi, thanks. Glad you found this useful. Can you see the seequence for the imported clip, and did you save the new project after importing the clip. Is the importef clip a tone track or is it using a sample. Maybe if you assign the sound again it'll spring to life. I've never tried importing clips from other projects. Interesting. Let me know if you find a soluton. Make sure the filter is fully open (fully clockwise).
@@hughthemusicalengineer4365 Thanks yes I’ve checked most of those things. It’s a tone track using a bass synth sound. The sequence seems to be there but even when I add a sound again it doesn’t sound. I’ve tried it a few times with the same result. Che jester filter was open etc. Strange. I only did this because I accidentally deleted a drum track and found I couldn’t work out how to change it back to drums so I thought I would just capture the clip and add the sequence to a new project. I’ve only had the mc101 a week so just starting to work I out! Thanks!
@@shaunkemp9710 Just thinking, maybe it was still set as a drum track. I need to try this. I always set the sound per clip rather than per track. Maybe if you do that it will be able to load tge clip settings correctly. I've had the MC-101 a while now, but so many features I still haven't explored. Lots of fun still waiting to be found.
The Akai Force has the headphone jack plus the headphone and cue knobs on the bottom front of the unit as well, but on the right corner. Quite annoying.
@@hughthemusicalengineer4365thank you for putting this video out. You've really inspired me and many others so don't take any notice of the sour grapes!
This was among the best and most informative 101 videos I’ve seen. Subscribed; looking forward to more!
Cheers. Glad you like it. A bit rough around the edges, but OK :)
Wow, you have lots of interesting videos.

Nice to see there is a very simple way to get some nice sound out of my expensive paperweight. Thanks!
The more you use it the more rewarding it becomes. Cheers.
Interesting. Cheers for that
Great tips for my MC-101.
Thanks and best wishes for your continued success.

Hi, nice video, really inspiring. I found a tip how to clear the entire clip faster - SHIFT+PROJECT+SEQ, maybe it will be useful.
Thanks. I need to read more of the manual.
But I like that layering tip. Great job.
Righteous tips.
This box is so massively underrated. I don't know how everyone doesn't own one.
@DawlessHouseMusic I know this comment is a year old but I recently bought one and keep discovering more and more. It's really an amazing little box!

Oh, just sharing some ideas.

Volume is really low on this video
I thought volume was ok.
@@hughthemusicalengineer4365 yeah it’s ok. Just put me headphones on. Great job. I like the layering. A lot can be done with that.
