Digital sculpting isn't as hard as it looks. At least, getting started isn't that hard, you'll still have to put in some serious time to get GOOD. Don't let that scare you off though, you may be surprised at how easily you can get something to be proud of, even as an absolute beginner.

Blender also has a terrific sculpting package, and it's free.

Yuup they did some really powerful sculpting updates fairly recently too! Cloth brushes and better remesh!!

I love these videos. I’ve been a Make subscriber and fan for 9 years. I really hope Bay Area Maker Faire is back next year.

So that's how all those things get modeled! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you, that was a great presentation! Gonna download that app now! I’m almost done setting up my Anycubic Photon Zero.

I'm telling you, it feels AWESOME to print out a sculpt you made. I'm not sure why it is different than printing cad files, but for me at least, it is.

Great intro to sculpting! Thank you for going over several software options. I think I’ll try out the iPad app!

Blender sculpting is up there with Zbrush core paid version.

Yep, sculpt gl is pretty great (although no longer supported) Core mini has better performance than blender but is very limited

If you know how to optimize blender, the sculpting is honestly just as good as Brush core.
Remesh, dynotopo, and multi res for fine details.
I can model stuff with 8 million+ polys without any issues.

Blender...more advanced sculpting than the other 2 free programs.

we agree! but blender is a behemoth in terms of complexity and features compared to what the scope of this video was. We do mention it in the video though

I like your videos but am I the only one who finds the audio really poor? it sounds muffled and suddenly overdrives and saturates. Feels like some bad gain setting. Really please change your mic or your audio settings.
