    Going to fix some damage to my tear bumper and paint it. Figured the painting might go better with the bumper removed, especially where overspray is concerned. Thanks for taking the time to do this video. Very helpful!!

    Aye still useful 4 years later-thanks mate my bumper cover got effed in a fender bender and I didn’t wanna spend 350 on a quote for body work. Now I spent less than a hundred and I can use this information again.

    Thanks a bunch for this video. Some idiot back into my Corolla while I was in the grocery store and left no details for insurance or anything so now I’m stuck. Since they is so easy I can just order a bumper and replace it since mine is now dented so bad at the drivers side that the side of the bumper is popped out it won’t go back in.

    Can you help me. 2013 corolla in the front wheel well there's a silver screw holding the inner wheel well in. it's just in front of the tire. do you know where I can get that? I think there's also a clip that the screw goes in to.

    • @Cams-garage
      @Cams-garage  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not quite aware of what screw you are referring too, however, you could go to your local hardware store and pick up a screw that is either the same, or similar. Or you could also get a clip from there too. If it's a Toyota specific item, try going to a dealership or go on eBay/Amazon.

    I have an 09 Corolla XRS that I just bought and the front and rear bottom parts of the bumper are loose, looks like broken clips and broken inner plastic that the outer bumper plastic mounts to. Do you think that it'sexpensive to fix?

    • @static_Tricolor_camry
      @static_Tricolor_camry 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Joe C. You don't need them on just keep the 4 metal screws on the top of your bumper also the plastic screw clips at the side next to the tires you can leave them off your bumper won't fall off I have mine off and my bumper isn't going anywhere I'll be purchasing quick fasteners release soon because I'm going lower on Coilovers next year and I have to take my bumper off every time I'm leaving my Driveway

  • @terryfrederickson2774

    they are called pop snaps, you pull the center out and it pulls out easy. they come in different sizes be careful, best to replace with new ones

  • @applesausemcgee
    @applesausemcgee 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    how bout putting the bumper back on? would you say it is pretty straightforward? somebody put a big dent in the back-left corner on the bumper and i can't pop it with the bumper attached. looks like maybe there are too many layers. i'm thinking about removing it and popping the dent on the outer layer and putting it back on but i'm worried it may be too much trouble to reattach.

    • @Cams-garage
      @Cams-garage  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Putting the bumper on is just as easy. All you need to do is line it back up and then click in the clips and then screw it back on.

    The Black plastic clips on the bottom and the 2 plastic screw clips one on each side at the top of the bumper you don't need to put them back on you only need to put the 2 metal screws back on and it'll stay in place also installing quick fasteners release is way easier and fast when removing the Front and Rear bumper that's what I'm gonna install on my Corolla I hate those Black plastic clips on the bottom of the bumper there's 2 on the Front bumper I had a hard time taking them off that's why I'm not putting them back on also all the metal screws at the bottom of my Front bumper I left them off and my Front bumper isn't going anywhere I only have the 4 metal screws holding the top of my Front bumper but like I said I'll be purchasing Quick Fasteners release soon because I plan on going lower on Coilovers next year I'm gonna need to take off my Front bumper every time I'm leaving my Driveway

    • @davidl2736
      @davidl2736 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are called bumper reinforcements or impact bars. They are made of high strength steel (HHS) and are pretty much not repairable because heating the steel affects the tempering and makes it brittle.

  • @Thomas-fk6ep

    • @Cams-garage
      @Cams-garage  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If I were guess, removing the bumper would be rather the same process, but for the sensors there is probably a connector you would need to unclip

    but your mods confuse me, you have vortex generators for better fuel efficiency/less drag, but you have big mud flaps which counter any benefit gained from the vortex generators... 🤔

    • @RSole9999
      @RSole9999 ปีที่แล้ว

      They're for show only. I doubt they reduce drag to any measurable amount. The same as the useless spoiler on the trunk lid which may actually increase drag. They're put on every car model that's an S or "sport" version. Lipstick on a pig.

    Hey man, you said you don't like those "finicky" clips? Why! If those were metal screws they'd be rusted beyond removal and you'd cause damage to the bumper trying to take them out. They use plastic clips because plastic does not corrode an THEY'RE NOT "FINICKY" if you spend $5 on a clip removal tool at any automotive/hardware store. SMH, and here you are telling folks they might need a flathead or needle nose to remove them? People, go buy the clip tool. You'll damage the clips trying to remove them with anything else and then your bumper (or any other part of the car) will not fit back on tight or the way the manufacturer intended it to fit. You'll be zipping self tappers all into it trying to get it right. The clips are a great hardware invention and deserve respect for the job that they do! #cliplivesmatter

  • @abuhamza1970
    @abuhamza1970 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    1. You need a trim removal tool - only $5
    2. You need a tripod if you’re serious
    3. You need a fixed light so we can see what you’re doing
    4. The bit I needed - pulling the bumper off the brackets - you actually missed the crucial part as your camera was pointing in the wrong place.
    Very annoying
