- As Ramadan comes to an end, I get involved with the traditions for the end of fasting on Eid to see how it is celebrated here in Kuala Lumpur! I'm very grateful to have had this experience and I'm honoured to have been invited by Aida and meet her family and try some of the most amazing food! Selamat Hari Raya to everyone!

damn, the way Aida's family treated you and the whole thing is really like actual raya experience. that is really how locals celebrate Raya, greet everyone, asks for forgiveness when it comes to it, eat and eat, talk some more, lay back and relax in the family environment, greet even more people even if you don't know them, eat everything offered to you, accept everything given to you and just be happy. wow

I'm delighted to see that more and more Malaysians are inviting foreign visitors to their homes to join them in celebrating significant holidays like Hari Raya. It makes me think of Malaysia Airlines, whose airline slogan is "Malaysian Hospitality," represented by the code MH.

Oh wow lodeh with ketupat and peanut sauce. Batang buruk my absolute favourite snack. Very hard to find the original traditional version you are eating. The filling is made with grounded green beans with some some sugar. You are very lucky to get invited by locals to celebrate their Hari Raya open house and eating those delicious food. In Malaysia open houses are very common in all our festive seasons. Even strangers can come to our open houses.
All the food was so delicious 😋

So glad that you had the chance to experience Hari Raya with the locals. I'm salivating just looking at the Raya spread. My favourite is lontong, nasi impit (compressed rice) eaten with sambal kacang (peanut sauce)! Stay safe and take care mate!

TOTALLY loving and amazed in what you did enjoying and experiencing Eid with Aida’s family. This is what the other foreign TH-camr in Malaysia should do, experiencing our local culture and event (Raya) first hand together with the locals rather assuming they know everything by just doing Google search and their own observation without interacting with the local. Selamat Hari Raya, Maaf Zahir dan Batin ... fyi, in Malaysia, ... for the whole month of Syawwal, ... there will be a lot of Hari Raya open houses, ... hosted by the state's sultans (9 sultans altogether), King of Malaysia, Prime Minister, government agencies/ministries, non-governmental entities, political parties, federal/state Authorities, families, ... and also business entities/corporate/companies (not only at company level, ... but might also be hosted by various departments and sections of the company, they usually take turns to host the occasions) ... that's the way we celebrate major festivities, ... 'Malaysian Style'.
