A Swansea Jack here, great place to live..beautiful bay, lovely beaches, I could never live away from the Ocean. I want my ashes scattered into Swansea Bay.
First set foot in Swansea in 1966 met and married a Swansea girl 47 years ago spent 9 wonderful years in this lovely place. Love this song and my wife.
Born in Swansea 1938 a. Parry-Williams was mother Dad joined Royal Welsh Fusiliers in WW11.......loved Horton, and all the Gower....moved to Llanfairfetchan....Peace.
I've seen a lot of familiar places......Although I am Dutch Ireally love the song and am getting homesick whenever I see the pictures!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Actually, it was written by John Davies. Billy Jewell got a credit because they were songwriting partners at the time. Max heard John Davies singing it at a Saturday night dinner and dance at the Royal Ivy Bush Hotel in Llanelli. Max was there with his wife and it all went on from there. John Davies went on to write the middle eight for Harry Secombe who also wanted to record it but the original version had nowhere for his voice to go.
there were 10 photos of the liberty brian. out of about 50! the images I used were my own personal photos, not taken from the internet which wouldnt have been personal to me....and the easy way out! so at my age I wouldn't have had any photos of the mumbles train etc...
I've only seen your reply, andrew. So, 20% photo's of a structure that didn't exist back when Swansea WAS a Town, but as you say, it is your video and it's a personal thing. It's a shame, for the outsiders who don't know much, if anything, about old Swansea, that an opportunity was missed to show it's former glories. There are numerous images available of the great Town. Regards.
Thank you . I miss Wales and home terribly. I miss the warmth and love of us welsh. I miss the view across to tolbot from Kenfig. The pub landlord that had a bit of walbur cake and a warm bottle of mans ale waiting for me as I cycled past his pub window.
+Brett Godefroi no it doesn't, and it sounds incredibly racist. I personally think most of the Welsh I have met are lovely people. There are good and bad from all countries. And looking at your comments you're a bad example of where ever you are from.
Too much attention on the Liberty Stadium, which didn't exist when Swansea was a Town. I suspect the creator of video is a Swans' fan, and obsessed with them. It's a pity, since there is a lot more he could have included here. The old Mumbles railway; the Slip Bridge; Hafod Works; Oystermouth Castle; Clyne Gardens, etc.
I'm proud to be a Swansea Jack than a Cardiff twat and so are all of my friends but the millennium stadium in Cardiff is the Best 1 in the entire world

Long away, but still in love. Of all the varieties of Welsh, the Jacks are in a class off their own.

Swansea was once a wonderfull place but now the local councile and welsh government have made the place where no sane person would wish to visit
