Missha recently reformulated their Magic cushion and now they have the signature essence moisture & covering(which is more high coverage) and its AMAZING! I love it even more and still has SPF 50 in it. You'd loveeee!

that would be quite unhygienic I'm afraid :( ofc the application method generally is not hygienic, but I would definitely wash the sponge first. reusing other containers is a great idea! ✨
You can just use a beauty blender cleanser to wash off the “old product” off the sponges :-) or any sponge cleanser that you have. For the container, you can use micellar or an oil based cleanser first, then any liquid cleanser. That will clean off any old excess and prevent bacteria from building up and contaminating the new product you’ll be mixing.
Exactly what I'm going to try. I don't think there's going to be a bacteria issue because the wetnwild cushion doesn't last very long and it's kind if dewy so it might he nice to add in some of my matte foundation and get a bit of dewiness with it. I don't have a single foundation I like by itself so this would be pretty convenient.
Why did I never think of using an old cushion before?? I cleaned one of my Missha ones and used it to apply my foundation today. It looked so flawless, and it didn’t soak into the cushion like it does my beauty blender! You’re genius!

My go-to DIY cushion was Skinfood Peach Sake Pore BB Cream mixed with Embryolisse Lait Creme Concentre. Mixing the moisturizer in meant I was getting moisturizing whenever I touched up, without carrying either tube in my bag. Worked really nicely.
Have you tried the Laneige Cushion Hydra Radiance foundation? I'm traveling soon and was reccomended this by the lady at Sephora. It's supposed to be super hydrating and it goes pale because it's a Korean brand. :) UPDATE: I just got home and tried it and oh my god it's amazing! It's super glowy and so skin like, I've never seen anything like it! I have the same problem dry areas as you, and my forehead looks so glowy, you would love it. 😊
I just ordered some laneige skin care and I saw that they had a cushion foundation. The lightest shade looked very yellow to me though. Did you get the lightest shade?
@@KenpachiKatherine I got the lightest shade No. 11 porcelain and it works really well. I'm around the same shade as Taylor and it's a great neutral undertone. I went into Sephora and got matched, which is what I would recommend if you're unsure. :) Also I'm from Australia and just had a look at the photos on the Sephora US website and the lightest shade is much lighter than what it looks like online, so I would go in store. :)
I use this and it's a really nice product but since I'm fair with cool undertones I have a problem with finding the right shade... they pull a bit warm for me.

I love doing this. I watched videos on it when my cushion ran out and I know you mix foundations constantly so I was inspired. I bought a vacuum pump bottle for this as well! I also use the air puffs as my main way of applying foundation now.
First Foundation Friday for 2019. Things are off to a good start. I have made my own cushion foundation following a guideline that Renee @Gothamista here on YT recommended. One of the big advantages of making your own is being able to add some good skin care products which will help the foundation go a little further and make it good for your skin. She added quite a few components when making hers and I just used what I had around but it totally made the foundation go further without really watering it down. I love cushion foundations and use them several times a week so playing chemist and making my own is fun. I wish I could say that I only use my homemade cushion but I am too much of a makeup junkie to stick to just one. I am always trying out new things chasing that perfect makeup which we all know is out there and just can't find! Happy New Year to all !! Deborah

I just bought my first cushion foundation and it will be delivered tomorrow. I cannot wait to try it. I chose the Wet and Wild to try since it is super affordable and I will not feel like I lost anything if I hate it.
I actually did this a few months ago- had a dried-out WNW compact that I cleaned out and then filled with some L'Oreal Pro Glow. Worked like a charm! Just kept adding liquid on top and flipping the sponge until it wouldn't take any more-worked like a charm!
I ordered an empty one off of Amazon for $8, and put the Wet n Wild photofocus in Porcelain in it and I love it! Thanks for the video on this, so now I can carry around my favorite foundation easily! And it's one of the only ones I can find that really matches me.
Earliest I have ever been! Thank you so much for introducing me to CYO lifeproof. I have very dry&sensitive skin with rosacea and it is the only foundation that has worked completely for me. Works to cover my redness and doesn't leave me with a flaky forehead! Only foundation I can wear all day.
I'm sitting here at my desk and had to take my Wet-n-Wild cushion foundation apart. This is TOTALLY doable with their container. As a matter of fact, since the color I chose is a bit dark for me now that it's winter, I'll be adjusting this when I get home. Thanks, Taylor!

Most cushion foundations have around half an ounce of foundation. So I’d recommend use a quarter of one foundation and a quarter of another. I saw some ladies in the comments suggesting reusing+cleaning their wet n wild cushion compact. I like the L’Oréal one, the rose gold detailing is super cute!

I do this trick with the wet n wild cushion bronzer because I wanted it more glowy, so I squeezed in some L’Oréal lumi glotion in medium. Beautiful combo!!

I have been refilling my cushion foundation with wet and wild HD foundation for a while now. I love it that way. And the wet and wild foundation spatula is prefect for scooping it into the cushion
I have yet to try a cushion foundation, but this idea doesn't seem too bad. Definitely nice to have a compact and like you mentioned, if you need to mix foundations you can. Of course, the biggest down side is all the foundation just being soaked up in the sponge and not being able to get a lot out of it. I wonder if they made the sponge a little thinner, would that work better??🤔 ... awesome video!
I do this every spring! I found all my supplies on Amazon. I even used my Cricut and put the brands logo on. I wash everything out come fall because I use powder more often in the fall and winter. Works great! It doesn’t take much or you will overflow it. You get more uses dabbing off the sponge.
Love this! They sell the same compacts on amazon too. I usually put a little more foundation (then what you did) into the compact, but the sponge in so the bottom saturated, then flip it. As time goes on it soaks into the sponge so the more you put in the first time the less you’ll have to refill it.
I haven’t worn much foundation this winter but I might try this out 🤔 I usually mix a bb cream and white foundation mixer together so this is nice way of skipping the process

Hey tay, ive actually been doing this for awhile now, I do it for my sunscreen as well as it makes it easier to reapply sunscreen over foundation throughout the day. I recommend not mixing your foundations in the compact itself but rather in a small bowl then putting the cushion in afterwards. And I think your right about the creme foundation because do the same thing with my more liquidy foundation and I still have a decent amount of product!

A few years ago I had a lumi cushion compact and lumi foundation so I refilled the compact with the lumi liquid and kept it in my purse.... Worked out well.

I wonder if mixing a touch of vegetable glycerin would help with the foundation waste, since that tends to be an ingredient in lots of foundations. My pet peeve with cushions is how quickly they dry up but maybe that could help?
Good idea! Or even a drop of pure silicone like the super liquid spreadability primer from The Ordinary might work... Or even a serum like the Farsali Unicorn primer serum to keep things moist...
Yes!! I use pretty much nothing but Kbrand stuff and when u do diy cushions, the thinner the liquid, the better..the sponge absorbs it better, it stays moist much longer and u still get coverage bc ur patting all of it on, not beautyblendering it away or brushing it off...hope that makes sense? Works the same w blushes of all kinds, as long as u make them liquidy as possible, u can use them too...like I wanna grab a Benetint and dump it in there to see cuz that and other stains are super liquidy and would be perfect! It's so kool cuz u can mix ur own perfect shade and bring ur prods anywhere w/o spillage or airport TSA drama over 'too big' bottles 👍🏻💗

Ever since you reviewed the Wet n Wild foundation cushion I’ve gone through like three or four of them. Now I just use the old compacts for sunscreen and diy Franken “bb creams”.
I LOOOVE taking my wet n wild cushion foundation and adding some Estee Lauder Double Wear I to it for more coverage. Adding Double Wear helped with more coverage and also to customize the shade!! It stays in my purse and/or gym bag constantly! That could be a great alternative instead of ordering an empty compact-- if you like the wet n wild compact anyways, which I just so happened to LOVE to begin with

The best foundation I have found for my skin is LANCÔME Teint Idole Ultra Longwear Foundation Stick. I am afraid to try anything else because it works so well for me. You could probably just use an old cushion foundation that you've used up, just take the cushion out & wash it.
You can buy spare cushions and rubicell puffs, too.
I do this with the Wet n Wild cushions I use up. I mostly refill them with sunscreen though so I can touch up throughout the day.

I was thinking the same thing. I wonder if a person could cut a new sponge to fit the old compact.

Just grab a cheep nasty cushion foundation from wish, ebay, aliexpress or Joom.
Then wash it out and start over with your prefered foundation.

I do this trick with the wet n wild cushion bronzer because I wanted it more glowy, so I squeezed in some L’Oréal lumi glotion in medium. Beautiful combo!!

Thank you for this video. While I couldn’t find the actual product on the site, it inspired me to take a cushion compact I wasn’t using (Wet and Wild), clean it out, and put my two Joah shades in. 👏🏻

I’ve looked at this item on YesStyle and have been really tempted, but reading all comments here reminded me that I have an Etude House cushion foundation that’s not the right undertone and I might give it a go with my current fav foundation and try to adjust the undertone and shade. Thanks!
I've used those compacts with liquid blush too. It makes it less pigmented when I apply it and not so scary on my super fair skin.

I have been refilling my cushion foundation with wet and wild HD foundation for a while now. I love it that way. And the wet and wild foundation spatula is prefect for scooping it into the cushion
I have 3 tubes of foundation I need to use up: 1 is too light and the other is much too dark, so I'm excited to try this compact to use those up!

I have yet to try a cushion foundation, but this idea doesn't seem too bad. Definitely nice to have a compact and like you mentioned, if you need to mix foundations you can. Of course, the biggest down side is all the foundation just being soaked up in the sponge and not being able to get a lot out of it. I wonder if they made the sponge a little thinner, would that work better??🤔 ... awesome video!

I do this every spring! I found all my supplies on Amazon. I even used my Cricut and put the brands logo on. I wash everything out come fall because I use powder more often in the fall and winter. Works great! It doesn’t take much or you will overflow it. You get more uses dabbing off the sponge.

Love this! They sell the same compacts on amazon too. I usually put a little more foundation (then what you did) into the compact, but the sponge in so the bottom saturated, then flip it. As time goes on it soaks into the sponge so the more you put in the first time the less you’ll have to refill it.
I love cushion foundations!! The Loreal Lumi works so good and it makes your skin glowy 😊 You should give it a try
I haven’t worn much foundation this winter but I might try this out 🤔 I usually mix a bb cream and white foundation mixer together so this is nice way of skipping the process

Hey tay, ive actually been doing this for awhile now, I do it for my sunscreen as well as it makes it easier to reapply sunscreen over foundation throughout the day. I recommend not mixing your foundations in the compact itself but rather in a small bowl then putting the cushion in afterwards. And I think your right about the creme foundation because do the same thing with my more liquidy foundation and I still have a decent amount of product!

This is pretty brilliant. I travel a ton and hate bringing a clunky foundation bottle and a beauty blender; this is a great idea for that.
A few years ago I had a lumi cushion compact and lumi foundation so I refilled the compact with the lumi liquid and kept it in my purse.... Worked out well.

I wonder if mixing a touch of vegetable glycerin would help with the foundation waste, since that tends to be an ingredient in lots of foundations. My pet peeve with cushions is how quickly they dry up but maybe that could help?
Good idea! Or even a drop of pure silicone like the super liquid spreadability primer from The Ordinary might work...
Or even a serum like the Farsali Unicorn primer serum to keep things moist...
Yes!! I use pretty much nothing but Kbrand stuff and when u do diy cushions, the thinner the liquid, the better..the sponge absorbs it better, it stays moist much longer and u still get coverage bc ur patting all of it on, not beautyblendering it away or brushing it off...hope that makes sense? Works the same w blushes of all kinds, as long as u make them liquidy as possible, u can use them too...like I wanna grab a Benetint and dump it in there to see cuz that and other stains are super liquidy and would be perfect! It's so kool cuz u can mix ur own perfect shade and bring ur prods anywhere w/o spillage or airport TSA drama over 'too big' bottles 👍🏻💗

Ever since you reviewed the Wet n Wild foundation cushion I’ve gone through like three or four of them. Now I just use the old compacts for sunscreen and diy Franken “bb creams”.

I LOOOVE taking my wet n wild cushion foundation and adding some Estee Lauder Double Wear I to it for more coverage. Adding Double Wear helped with more coverage and also to customize the shade!! It stays in my purse and/or gym bag constantly! That could be a great alternative instead of ordering an empty compact-- if you like the wet n wild compact anyways, which I just so happened to LOVE to begin with
