Slash is a legion’s for a reason. You can instantly tell if it is home by sound not sight. He has and iconic stance when he played. Many of the greats do. He was actually kinda the shy one of the group, hence the mystery had a purpose. You want to see another legions, but this one from the TX blue scene. Stevie Ray Vaughan. Look at Little Sister live. He was a generational talent. He was help trained/taught by Albert King. Eric Clapton (another guitar legend ) always said Stevie would channel God when he played. Hope you try out more rock. Metallica is a one of the best, if not the best metal band. Their musicianship is brilliant.

This song is about Axl Rose' own experience of the streets of L.A. and about the media/news. They took real clips from the news and put it in the videoclip. You can see Axl Rose come of the bus at the start. It was the first time he came to LA after he was forced to move from a small town in Indiana. He comes of the bus as an innocent young boy and instantly someone walks up to himand offers him weed, Axl declines. Then the next show he changes from an innocent boy to a dangerous /wild looking guy playing rock music, the result of the big city. You see him getting brainwashed by the news and media

10:04 That sound is achieved using something called "slide", it is a tube made of metal, or glass or plastic. It is placed on one finger and slides across the guitar fretboard. It is used a lot in blues.

I ve been playing guitar for past 14 years and I ve studied Slash's guitar sound for like past 10. I ll try to keep it in rookie terms so y'all will understand.
    1. Scales - if you understand the term of "scales" in music then you should understand what I'm talking about. Slash's backgroud is really very "bluesy". He is using lots of different variations of minor scales (natural, harmonic, blues) and thats why it sounds very rocky. Sometimes he is using a major scale and in some songs (Estranged, November Rain) he is using both minor and major scale of the same note (C Major, C minor). Also he adds a little bit of "blue notes" (you lower the third, fifth and seventh note of a major scale by half a step) which make the melody sound a little bit bluesy
In rookie terms: he is playing certain notes in certain order so they make those nice melodies which sound very rocky and not very complicated.
    2. Amplifier - it all comes down to the frequencies produced by the amp. People dont really understand that Slash's amp was a modified version of Marshal SL1959. The stock SL1959 sounds very rocky but not very gainy (which is not very distorted) and kinda like its high mids have been cut but rest of mids are sitting still in the sound. Slash's amp was modded by Frank Levi and the mode was called SIR #36. The mod was basically adding those lacking mid ranges which casued the guitar to sound way more aggresive than stock SL1959 and also a little bit more compressed and gainy (more distortion in the sound). The best example is the intro to Sweet Child O Mine. People think (and they are wrong) that he is using a wah pedal in front to achieve the sound but the truth is that the sound of Sweet Child O Mine lies within mids added by the mod. On top of that they played it very loud. I mean, if you had a chance to listen to a 100W head full valve amplifier then you would understand. Those were the levels that could actually damage your hearing. He lost the amp around 1989-1990 because it was rented and he really didn't want to give it back but at some point it happened and after that he switched to Marshall Silver Jubilee which is "hot roded" (stronger) version of Marshall JCM800 (which is very similair to modded SL1959) but never sounded the same (check out the lives of Sweet Child from Ritz 1988 and Tokyo 1992 and you'll hear a great difference especially in midrange).
    3. Fingers (the most important bit) - no one in the world can copy the feeling and the articulation of Slash's playing. He attacks the strings in a certain way and as long as you aren't him you won't be able to sound the same. He introduced his style to the world with this album and it's been kinda revolutionary. You can play the same notes but you won't be able to recreate the same sound because you are not him.
    4. Guitar - he is known for using Les Pauls (which is the guitar you can see in the video) however he ain't using original Gibson guitar but a luthier's copy which (as far as Im aware of) has a little bit different type of mahogany used and the wood makes a difference.
All combined give this unique tone that even Marshall tried to recreate (they introduced three amps - Marshall AFD100, Marshal SL2555 which are 100W full valve heads and Marshall SL5 which is 5W combo) but never been able to. However, if you want to sound like Slash just buy Les Paul of any sort with high output passive pick ups and a valve Marshall and Boss EQ Pedal (make an upside down smiley) and you are ready to go.

*System of a Down* songs like Chop Suey or Toxicity* amazing/unique band, they didn't get over a billion views for nothing, very creative lyrically and visually, if you are up for a rollercoaster ride 😁there is so much more to rock music, deep and meaningful messages. Also, Iron Maiden is a must-reaction, especially *Iron Maiden - Fear Of The Dark (En Vivo!) 4K live* will leave you speechless. Thank you for being open-minded to reacting to all music including metal, you just gained a subscriber. Well done!!!

'The Jungle' referred to hear is the concrete jungle, in this case the streets of L.A. Im fairly certain it was inspires by Axl's experience moving there from a small town (I believe in Iowa, but not certain).
