This was a mix of three family groups. *The Lewis Family (America's First Family of Bluegrass Gospel Music), *The Easter Brothers, and *Jeff and Shari Easter (Jeff is the son and nephew of the three Easter Brothers.) The guy playing banjo is Little Roy Lewis, of the Lewis Family. The girl singing next to him is his niece, Shari Easter (Daughter of Polly Lewis Copsey, and Little Roy's Sister). Shari is married to Jeff Easter (he's singing the third part) The older lady singing behind Shari is her Aunt, and also Little Roy's sister, Miggie Lewis (passed in Dec of 2017) The other lady behind Shari's shoulder (also dressed in green) is another aunt, and Little Roy's older sister, Janice Lewis Phillips. All three immensely talented and well known in the world of bluegrass gospel. (It had been a dream of theirs for some time, to do a family group reunion recording - and this was it.) Little Roy MacArthur Lewis turned 80 in Feb of this year (2022), and still travels, performing with his Daughter, Lizzy Long. The Lewis Family (Retired as a group in May of 2009) traveled and performed nearly 60 years, doing over 100,000 miles a year, and an average of over 200 show dates a year. They are inductees into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame.. the International Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame, as well as the IBMA Distinguished Achievement Award in 2002. They are also members of the Gospel Music Hall of Fame, Pop Lewis (Little Roy's father) was inducted into the Southern Gospel Music Hall of Fame in 2000. Each member of the group has received the Grand Old Gospel Reunion's Living Legend Award.. And in 2008, the Georgia State Assembly honored "Pop" Lewis by naming a portion of Georgia Hwy 378 in Lincoln County the James Roy "Pop" Lewis Memorial Highway. (as you can tell .. I've been a long time fan) The Easter Brothers have been mainstays in gospel music for a long time, and great writers, with over 300 songs to their credit. (one of which being "They're Holding up the Ladder". They're often credited with writing "Thank Your Lord for Your Blessings on Me".. but I'm not sure if that's correct) Jeff and Shari Easter have had a phenomenal career in their own right. Hope that was helpful!
This is the best group ever !!!!!
The Lewises are the 💣💥!!!
Love the Lewis Family, from New Zealand.
Do they have a Facebook page?!
