I've leveled as a Hemo rogue a few times, play well and you have extremely little downtime. Also for most mobs you can kill them quite fast. The biggest gearpiece to upgrade frequently is your weapons (du'h?). You have your cooldowns ready in any situation where you may need them, pretty good control for multi-target encounters when you need to deal with that. Vs single target you're pretty badass at chaining kills. I would put rogue leveling above warriors. You also have the massive advantage of stealth for skipping both inconvenient encounters and to dodge gankers. If you keep your weapon up to date encounters should generally be fast and you take very little damage. If you get a good dagger for your level you might even spend some time using Ambush as your opener on squishy enemies.

Why is it assumed that on a server with arguably 300 60s in the first month, that Devilsaur farming is even remotely possible? If you are employed there's no way you're going to have time to win the range of spawns. If you are unemployed then you will still need to do this as a respectable group, sharing the winnings while fighting off enemy hunters with trap camping, not to mention your own faction... Am I missing something?
he was the 3rd to level 60 on his server, and he was talking about farming it for 3-4 days immediately, so obviously not a lot of competition if you are aheady of the curve
I just saw your armor pen, farie fire and sunder armor argument pertaining to vanilla. As i recall improved expose armor was far greater than a tanks sunder and i had many arguements with tanks as it hindered threat and rage generation.See, sunder stacked to 3 for assured tank aggro. If dps did things correctly a warrior tank could maintain threat with a 3 sunder tag. Now because rogues armor expose exceeded sunder for that debuff slot this would disperse aggro and tank threat. Now because armor expose is durational and exceeds sunder armor, no sunders could be applied by said warrior tank. Which would mean heavy dpsers would climb threat meters for the rest of the encounter. This would cause, in worst case scenarios, constant frustration untill the tank sundered till 3 stacks once again to maintain that threat source from where its needed. Due to the armor expose having a 15-30sec timer if specced into it, would infact impart a huge amount of raid dps uptime that a tank is losing threat for. Thus increasing chances for hitting an enrage timer waiting for said tank to get full aggro back by waiting for armor expose to drop off, then to stack 3 sunders again, sunder being high threat, whilst dps lagg due to threat. For raids especially add raids, rogues are the most influential for add burns. In a raid environment the improved expose armor is simply incomparable. I believe it was a high threat manoeuvre aswell which would have me rimjawing threat meters, this is why improved dodge is a thing this is also why we have vanish. Rogues are part evasive high threat distraction tanks for small periods when required. Generally the next highest dps after a rogue has popped his evasion will be a ranged, most adds will have sufficiently reduced in health by the time a rogue pops vanish and will be killed in transition to the next highest threat, usually ranged. A 5 point armor exposed add foe will be vanquished swiftly with very little issues. Please take this into consideration in thinking about raid productivity and especially with speed runs. Uni out. Peace.

On the seal fate spec... I never tried it, but I played with a talented rogue on Nost/Elysium that tried it in AQ40/Naxx gear. He was new to the spec (obviously) but did a little less dps than he normally would in a normal Naxx raid at the time. But we agreed that the seal fate spec is not viable in AQ gear alone.
I'm at 47 minutes into the video and I hope it gets clarified later on but LMGD didn't communicate well and Tips didn't understand properly that the proposed combat spec for BWL is Combat Daggers (hence the imp backstab talent allocation) so you'll also need to take those 5 points out of sword spec and put them into dagger specialization. Also, Aged Core Leather Gloves from MC is stupid strong for any dagger build in pve so keep that in mind and prefer them over Nightslayer or Bloodfang.
@@Nydox if that's the case I'd argue against that, from my experience in Vanilla combat daggers were superior to swords in BWL and up until midway in Naxx.

I think work "fel" is from the chinese version wow, cause i heard that the censor word death with fel. like instead deathknight they call it felknight.
i have a question, do rogues use poisions while leveling? is it worth to do the quest line for the poisions while leveling or should be done at lvl 60?
Leveling a rogue right now. You absolutely do not 4 shot things with sinister strike. You either get 2 off and kill the monster auto attacking while you wait on energy, leaving you with 2 combo pts on a dead enemy. Or if you fight something for long enough to get 5 combo pts, you died anyway.
@@Bollibompa me and another rogue did a thing on some elites him Sinister strike Sinister strike Me Sinister strike tiny delay gouge Then we swap, barely take damage, lots of hits :)
i main warlock but will play rogue to gank on other account. sell me on rogue bro. lets do this. also mage is my 3rd favorite> Mage-warlock-rogue are the best.
I dont get it. Why NOT pick skinning? He wants to rush 60 so he can farm devilsaur, thing is, he doesnt have skinning, so he has to go back n kill mobs he already killed and by the time he goes to 1-300 skinning people would be at 60 with him and probably have skinning with em.
considering he mentioned he would definitely be leveling with a 5 man and also mentions there only needs to be one skinner in a group that he will probably have the skinner at the least with him. As far as I can tell anyways
If you're looking for someone to do Druid Deep Dive I'd like to forward your attention to Shedo. Not sure if he's interested in doing the podcast but woth an ask :)
1:15:18 So with all the consumables and the trinkets he mentions, will rogues be wearing spellpower gear with all possible buffs?? Or is it just like enchants and the trinkets with pre bis gear?
Best point of the video = as far as progressive content release... if Dire Maul is released on opening day there will be world buffs for initial Molten Core clears... and that's very bad.
Everyone has been brainwashed by Private Servers numbers. There are so many things that will shape up differently in retail, assuming Blizzard refers to their original source. Stealth mechanics, energy procs, and energy regen clipping will all be improved in retail. On the private server I am on, rogues struggle to get 450 dps in full BWL gear @ 1.9 patch... and it is widely accepted as normal. In true Blizzard retail vanilla environments, full BWL gear was an easy 600 dps, 700+ for your better rogues.
Just incredible !! Only default is the dagger pov that isn't taken in consideration, while super good. I'd have love to hear if there were differences about stats priority (crit / hit) or pre raid bis items (elementals card / hand of justice, etc) and if there is any particular mentality set change from sword, like would you still wait for an attack to happen before using your backstab ? Or is it less important ? Do you go for eviscerate less, stuff like that ! But overall really great, ty, appreciated it :)
So in The Raid blackwinglayer , i Skill improved backstab , so i need to Take a dagger Into My Main hand and My sword to off hand , why dont Put Skillpoints in dagger specialization to get a Higher crit chances in The Combat tree and why do i Take dual wield? Why i don't use 2 daggers instead of 1 dagger in mainhand to backstab and offhand a sword? I watched some other Guides too but i cant get The answer by myself , 45:00
I'm just curious does LMGD work a job at all? The level of play he is talking about is insane , very interesting to know how they still have an income while playing so much.

YOU DIDN'T REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Did i miss it or they forgot to talk about the pvp rogue?
He said it would be a seperate pvp deep dive video for rogues, eventually lol..
from what i heard DM should NOT available at launch
This is a great series! Can we get more episodes and updates on older ones??
Me and some friends just started playing again and these are great!
speaking as someone who's tried the seal fate spec in pve after bieng Naxx geared, and sword spec always performed a little better for me. however i had more fun playing seal fate.
I am loving this, keep up the content creation!
Thanks for all the awesome info!
fun fact, felstriker way back was named deathstriker
I think work "fel" is from the chinese version wow, cause i heard that the censor word death with fel. like instead deathknight they call it felknight.
Insanely in-depth details on playing PvE rogue to the max, can't wait for the PvP edition ;)
i have a question, do rogues use poisions while leveling? is it worth to do the quest line for the poisions while leveling or should be done at lvl 60?
Is rogue a melee class?
well, it depends..
Nope, you can go throw dps
When a rogue sees someone 5 levels under them:
"Oh boy here i go killing again!''
Then a car [warrior] smashes through the wall and ends us rightly. :P
im in tears! haha
Whenever you see someone in a robe sitting and drinking LOL
Amazing Show. Thanks Guys!
Leveling a rogue right now. You absolutely do not 4 shot things with sinister strike. You either get 2 off and kill the monster auto attacking while you wait on energy, leaving you with 2 combo pts on a dead enemy.
Or
if you fight something for long enough to get 5 combo pts, you died anyway.
You need to use gouge.
(He is also not talking about solo questing, that is not the most efficient way of leveling)
@@Bollibompa me and another rogue did a thing on some elites
him Sinister strike Sinister strike
Me Sinister strike tiny delay gouge
Then we swap, barely take damage, lots of hits :)
i main warlock but will play rogue to gank on other account. sell me on rogue bro. lets do this.
also mage is my 3rd favorite>
Mage-warlock-rogue are the best.
Interesting point, make a mc raid when you are in BWL /AQ gear and just Master loot for TF, would be an easy clear also
This video is a gold mine, thanks tipsout. Im planning on rolling a human rogue, and Will surely use alot of the info i got from this video.
Hopefully female human, the males look like trash
Nah, humans look the best in armour imo
Bogdan 96 no way, armour looks best on human male and orc male imo. Looking worst on trolls and tauren. Again imo, Some Will prolly disagree.
isn't this a reupload? what happened to the video from months ago?
What about a good dungeon build???
I dont get it. Why NOT pick skinning? He wants to rush 60 so he can farm devilsaur, thing is, he doesnt have skinning, so he has to go back n kill mobs he already killed and by the time he goes to 1-300 skinning people would be at 60 with him and probably have skinning with em.
considering he mentioned he would definitely be leveling with a 5 man and also mentions there only needs to be one skinner in a group that he will probably have the skinner at the least with him. As far as I can tell anyways
why should we stack so much hit? isn't the yellow hit cap at 9% with 300 weapon skill? i don't get it... please explain.
didn't mention which alliance race is best for pvp rogue. prob just a small oversight. its gnome/dwarf
What do gnome/dwarf have?
hey. how do i make a macro so i can vanish, then sap without a global cool down like perplexity does. please let me know!
why not post the gearlist link here?
If you're looking for someone to do Druid Deep Dive I'd like to forward your attention to Shedo. Not sure if he's interested in doing the podcast but woth an ask :)
This episode has been brought to you by the saying “very interesting”.
Dayum, that’s ABSOLUTELY insane.
I was hoping to get some insight of which alliance race is best for pvp. But well... xD
Hotter than a Meth pipe on Classic release day. All these folks doing 60hr day 1s
Glad I'm not the only one that thinks this
Sorry I keep commenting.. but had to say: great interview, I learned a lot and I had a lot of fun watching this.
Why do you have to use a yellow move right after a white happened? do extra attacks reset your autoattack, or what am I missing here
Best content on YT! Waiting for Rogue PVP deep dive! Instant Sub+ man :)
1:15:18 So with all the consumables and the trinkets he mentions, will rogues be wearing spellpower gear with all possible buffs?? Or is it just like enchants and the trinkets with pre bis gear?
Honestly watching/listening to this has me wanting to go Rogue instead of Warrior at launch of Classic, even though I've been set on Warr for so long
Go Warr.
Dude this is perfect! But do you have the link for the build to share on TH-cam? Thanks!
Best point of the video = as far as progressive content release... if Dire Maul is released on opening day there will be world buffs for initial Molten Core clears... and that's very bad.
South Park should make an episode where Cartman can't wait for Classic to come out. I'm literally sweating as I'm waiting in anticipation.
Rogues do pull 600+ with that gear in current patch on boss fights
Just incredible !!
Only default is the dagger pov that isn't taken in consideration, while super good. I'd have love to hear if there were differences about stats priority (crit / hit) or pre raid bis items (elementals card / hand of justice, etc) and if there is any particular mentality set change from sword, like would you still wait for an attack to happen before using your backstab ? Or is it less important ? Do you go for eviscerate less, stuff like that !
But overall really great, ty, appreciated it :)
love these deep dives
The guy mentioned a dagger, at 1:00:00, that Tips completely overlooked, which one was it? The 1% drop chance one.
Felstrike, drops off Rend in UBRS
absolulyabsoluly
Like ret pallas and furry druids are gonna steal my loot
Holy Paladin rolling on your shit cuz he wants to ret (pug) Resto Druid rolling on Kitty Gear (pug druid) This WILL happen.
This was absolutely insane
Plugy guy, automatically... Tips Out baby!
Because we're playing on the legion patch there will be no way to frontstab mobs.
where is a link to this written down could not understand some of what he was saying
This was awesome, Thank you.
Wow didn’t even talk about Macros lol
The person giving a deep dive on the Rogue class doesn't know that Riposte has a 10 energy cost when it even says it in the tool tip on the talent?
Fleyz no ones perfect this guys knows a lot ..
I'm just curious does LMGD work a job at all? The level of play he is talking about is insane , very interesting to know how they still have an income while playing so much.
afaik a lot of the high end players usually take 2 weeks off when something new hits, and 2 weeks is more than enough to prepare everything. as he said a week for leveling then a week of grinding skinning and he's set for classic
N this no changes stuff is getting a lil crazy, a lot of people want no changes for glitches that benefit them in the game.
Where is the list of stuff in the description tips :( ..
