    As always my wife and I enjoy your videos as we learn more and more techniques every time. Any chance you could do some main river channel summer time crappie fishing? It is so very different from reservoir fishing back here in Ohio.

      I may not get this video request in this year, but I'll try to do a crappie video next summer. If I do an open water crappie video this year it will be either right before ice up or on the ice.

    Thank you for sharing your experience knowledge and passion. At times the ripples down stream from the wing dam were very easy to see, thank you for pointing that out. Shoot well when you see your buck, TIGHT LINES.

    Lance, did you get a lot of rain recently? I see they have the river rising 6+ feet @Bellevue by the end of the month.

    • @AnglerX
      @AnglerX  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. We received a bunch of rain just north of La Crosse. 5-7 inches reported in some areas. Some of the smaller rivers rose fast and are dumping a lot of water into the Mississippi River.

    Another great one,one of these I want to see you throw a line into a mud puddle I bet you pull out a fish. Are we going to see a bow deer hunt. Thanks for doing what you do.

      @AnglerX  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lol! been seeing a lot of deer and there are some good bucks around. I may try to record some hunts but man it is tough. Hats off to the guys that successfully harvest and record a deer hunt.

    Of all the fishing tourneys that happen on that river, has there ever been a freshwater drum/sheepshead tourney? I know there have been different rough fish tourneys, but I'm thinking a 100% drum tourney would be EPIC. I honestly don't know of another part of the country where you can catch as many quality big drum. I guess deep down I just wanna find a way to like them better after all the years of them crushing my dreams... 😏

      There is a small drum tournament out of Trempealeau every year. I have never participated in it but It would be fun>

    What a perfect day to be out there! Exactly how many spoons are stuck in those wing dams?

      I didn't lose any spoons on this outing. When I would get hung up I would get close and pop it free.

      @AnglerX You know that kind of knowledge is gold. I rarely lose baits to snags anymore because I learned those skills through the good old school of hard knocks.

    Lance, I hear some people talk about color selection based on light condition. They say dark days, dark colors, and bright days bright colors. Do you find this to be true or do you think it's more about water clarity? Thought you would know because you seem very knowledgeable. Thanks !

      I find that color doesn’t matter as much as profile and locating active fish. I’ve had days where it didn’t matter what color and days where you had to dial every little thing in. I usually always fish either something natural or flashy and bright. For jigs and plastic color only matters to me as long as they can see it. Matching the right jig head style and weight to present it is the key. I use 1/8 and 3/16 most common for walleyes. You know you have the right weight when it matches the drift of the current.

      @AnglerX  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would agree with @codybertram6122. I think at times color can play a factor but presenting the bait to the fish in a manner that looks natural is most important.

    Where do you buy your jigs at?

    • @AnglerX
      @AnglerX  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I buy stuff online and locally around La Crosse and Trempealeau. The spoons and Liquid Willowcat plastics can be purchased at many locations around La Crosse, WI or online.
