How bad is it ? Do you get a lot of outbreaks ? Is it worse than oral(HSV1) ? Because I only get 1 cold sore once a year is it worse than that ?

Are you the same person who said you had HSV1 because your boyfriend ate you out and he had cold sores ? So who gave you HSV2, same guy ?
Joe Lewus no different partner. He tested positive for hsv2 the other day. It could also be my serology result was wrong and I actually have type 2. Regardless I most likely have it now but I won’t ever test for it so I don’t know for sure if I do or not and won’t have to disclose.
Joe Lewus I’ve had one really bad outbreak I thought i had genital hsv1 which is what my blood test showed but it could be hsv2. I’m not ever getting tested again. I’ve had a lot of tingling and pain down there but no ulcers or lesions except for the first time. I either have both or gentile hsv1 or hsv2 my blood test was positive for hsv1 in January but the new person I’m seeing got tested and it came out as hsv2 for him viral culture are very specific which means its not false. I probably have hsv2 now but there’s no record and I don’t know for a fact. It hurts to have sex sometimes. The greatest impact have been my emotional health: I fear disclosure and passing it on. And if I pass it on I can’t ever test for it and have to refuse at any cost. To me the emotional pain of passing on and disclosing are worse than the actual disease. I can deal with the physical symptoms but I’ll never test for herpes ever again so that I won’t have to legally disclose. It’s all a mind fuck at this point.
Use condoms. Learn from me. I fucked my life over. I got the rare form now.

What do you do when you have HSV 1 and you go on the first date and they want a kiss? Like...it’s too soon to disclose that private info but at the same time, isn’t it wrong to kiss someone without them knowing you have herpes?
The thing about hsv is that it's not indicative of what kind of person you are. It's a part of your life, yes, unfortunately. But it has nothing to do with who you are as a person.

Turns out I have both types as well. It’s been pretty depressing to cope with your channel has helped me a lot. Some days I feel like putting a gun to my head. I never tested positive for it so I don’t have to disclose but my partner did via culture for hsv2. I’ll never get tested but deep down I know I have it. It hurts but the worst part is the disclosure I can’t live with that. Ignorance is bliss at this point.

Joe Lewus partner tested positive via culture for hsv2 recently. I thought I had genital hsv1 it could be hsv2 and the serology results were inaccurate. Regardless I can’t get tested again and no one can force me.

I don't know what to do I have had a bf f a year. And., had a rash under my stomach got looked at by health department. They, told me I have 1 and 2. I told him he got tested and only has 1. However, he told me he doesn't want to ever sleep with me again. However, he still goes out w me and does nice things f me. However, I want the whole relationship that loves me, is it selfish to tell him I am going to start dating to find a man that wants to love me and be intimate with me?
No, just because you have herpes, doesn't mean you need to tramp your desires and wants. If this person is not the right for you, you move forward. Don't drag it and make it harder for you and him both. There are plenty of people out there who accept their partners with herpes or not.

Alexandra Harbushka i am sorry to hear. The society is always in need of knowledge about certain diseases and problems The psychological pain is something people dont understandz. Is there no potential cure or good treatments for this, science have come such a long way and to me it feels like the big companies got this quite high on their list or am i wrong? I thought it was interesting talk. Can you get infected from having sex? Anyway its nice to see people suffering from something and still standing strong and dont hide it!

Michael Franklin hi Michael! Thanks for asking that question. Yes, you can get herpes from a kiss. You can contract HSV 1 & 2 from kissing. The virus is spread from skin to skin. You are most contagious when there is an outbreak. I hope this answers your question.
