    What do you think, is the G Cloud still worth considering at the right price?

    • @Gar_y21
      @Gar_y21 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      No because the g cloud only have 64 gb and the processor could have been a little better . I think if they made the g cloud with atleast 128gb then yeah not a bad pick up especially when it’s hard to get the ayn Odin pro and lite. With that being said if u looking for something that’s can do mostly get Odin they have some up on eBay .

    • @csufrob

      100 percent yes for my needs, I mainly do cloud gaming so I don’t need much storage. I also stream my Xbox/pc and ps5 games when I just want to relax and not look at a big screen. Got it for 249 on sale plus some cash back at Best Buy.

    • @porgesomer
      @porgesomer ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well if you're looking for a cheap android device that can run games and emulators up to PSP era than I think if you find this on sale it should be worth it. Cheaper and more available than the steam deck. However there are almost no cloud gaming services where I live so aside from a glorified tablet with controller it doesn't offer much. I think that there are more powerful tablets in the market for the price of the gcloud but maybe on sale..

    • @RitzyBusiness
      @RitzyBusiness ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No, but only because the dpad is still not great. Asides from that I think this is worth $250.
      If you plan on doing a lot of retro gaming, or in my case modern platforming you need something better.
      Even at $250 Logitech should of made the controller detachable, put a strategic headphone jack and made it a tablet for that accepted 3rd party controllers

    i am so glad that they added screen mapping to the device, when i first considered buying the g cloud the biggest problem to me was the lack of this feature but i bought it anyways, it hasn't been delivered yet but knowing this function is available now make me mush happier

      @sseba1116 To be clear, it's better for my personal use case. I have a PS5 and Series X, so having access to remote access to my entire gaming library is clutch. I have young kids at home, so I'm not always able to commit to sitting down in front of my consoles in my gaming room.

    Such a sexy device w/ supreme build quality! If only the dpad felt as good as it looks, this tank would be amazing.
    If there were no need to open it, I’d be stoked on the superior build quality w/ no visible screw holes.
    Watching your teardown was as entertaining as it was excruciating. You literally drew blood and scarred your device for your subscribers. That’s dedication!

    I appreciate you showing that breakdown I had no idea how to get mine open. Something that I think is under looked with the recent update is the changes to the controller profile. I have notified that apps that weren't detecting the R2/L2 buttons now are. I think the two that I noticed immediately were Chiaki and maybe the dolphin emulator (it was one of the emulators I don't remember which one). Great video!

    Honestly is my favorite so far. I don't go out too much so it only playing up to some gamecube/ps2 games is fine with me. Because I can select to play those few games on the go. The main use I give it is at home. where I stream games like my yuzu library through moonlight. I can access all my games from it. And with my dedicated router it feels seamless playing like that, is like having a high end switch. Not to mention, that damn screen. Battery life is better than the steam deck and I can stream the games on a better resolution too. It feels like it was made for me. Long battery life, light as hell while having a very large screen, and very comfy controllers. I feel like I have one of those steam deck competitors for a lower price.

    Thank you for this! The price is way too high. I have been waiting 6 months now for Black Friday (today) and it only dropped $50, down to $299, which I am struggling to reconcile with myself especially since I am worried about how long Logitech is going to support the software and system of this device.

    I hear people complain about the price of this in comparison to the steam deck. Realistically the steam deck should've been priced like most of those Asian handheld pcs but they are able to cover the loss with steam sales. The same goes for Microsoft and Sony. Logitech doesn't have this benefit. We've been spoiled into thinking that things like this should be cheaper because of the practices of these other companies. I think it's priced right at 300$ for the screen alone.

    • @retrotechdad
      @retrotechdad  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      For sure, their business model revolves around selling software. Personally, I never really think about comparing the Steam Deck to an Android handheld. To me, they are just different types of devices and not everyone wants what the Steam Deck offers. With that being said, the Steam Deck is still an incredible value and never a bad choice.

    Yea it is the best overall package, because of the screen, battery and overall quality. At $250 or $300 (which I paid bc I didn't want to wait) it beats everything except maybe the odin. But unlike the odin i could actually get a G cloud. When I tried buying the odin in Jan it had a weird preorder process that seemed like it would take months to get.

      @stevena9484 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@moxlolol If it's a shitty android phone with joysticks, then I don't know what to call the steam deck. The screen, battery, and joysticks blow the steam deck out of the water. What good is it being handheld if you have to plug it in every hour? What good is being able to play forza 5 if the screen is so low res that it looks like there's a dirty fishtank in the way. For that I'll play it on my laptop, or better yet I'll play it remotely on the g cloud and it will look way better than a steamdeck.

    it doesn't support exFAT format for microsd card.. only FAT32 formats.. this means you can't put files larger than 4gb on your microsd card.. since ps2 games are bigger than 4gb this is a huge problem

    • @retrotechdad
      @retrotechdad  ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Would this run PS2, Vita, GameCube, Wii U just fine?

    • @retrotechdad
      @retrotechdad  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      PS2 and GC will run but don't expect to do much upscaling. It's got slightly better performance than a Retroid Pocket 3+.
      Vita3k for Android is still really early in development but I have tested some games and if they work, they seem to work fairly well.
      Unfortunately, there is no Wii U emulation on Android but you can always setup local streaming if it's something that you really want to do.

      Logitech's website will occasionally have a $50 off coupon. They actually just had it for $250 about a week or so ago. I posted about it in the community posts on YT, try to give viewers a heads up.

    • @Airplanetyson
      @Airplanetyson ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Never intended to be a switch, I have the oled, while it’s nice, they are remaking old games like red dead or GTA San Andreas. The other games like Mario are extremely kiddy to me. All in all the switch games get boring pretty fast and I go months without touching it. This on the other hand allows me to play my PS5 and Xbox series s while on the go. All of my AAA games like call of duty, madden, starfield and more.
