so relieving to see a 60+ year old share makeup tips!!!! brown is preferable to black liner :) i also start from the middle my foundation :D thank you for the tips for so many years now, Robert :D
I wish brown pencils didn't go ruddy on me. Have the hardest time with eyeliner, because it looks like I either got socked a good one, or I'm ill. I also cannot use it on the waterlines at all, due to it triggering styes or allergy issues. Super hooded eyes, so eyeliner is just a tiny hint. Brow pencils anger me most because my hair is naturally blue black, and this trend of "Nobody needs a black brow pencil", is making a mess of things, as finding a decent formula means the colour will look like my skin is irritated, or if I do find a true black, the formula is mostly likely crap, but I buy it anyway because it looks natural.
@@DinkyInky2 Omg, I have the same problem with black brow pencils! Some of us genuinely have black brows and don't just use it for blocky sharpie brows 😅
I literally say in almost every tutorial I post that I use brown shadow as eyeliner as it is much more natural looking. While I'm not 60, I'm not 29 anymore either and thick black eyeliner just doesn't work especially on fair cool skin like mine, imo. And yes love seeing others not 18 posting! 🥰
@C.J. The last straw for me was with Benefit. They used to have a soft black that was ashy, but still workable. This time I got that shade as a gift? It's a Brownish Black, and looks so bad. Asked Benefit about it, and they said they had no plans to add any shades to their range, which wasn't even my question. Decided to wait until the holiday chaos winds down, then I'm going to ask them again about this weird pencil, because it just has to be a mislabeled pencil, right?
Omg- the “wrong” way in the “how to look younger” video is *exactly* how the Sephora rep taught me how to do my eye makeup when I told her I had no idea what I was doing 😂😂 (this was BR- Before Robert, of course!)
@@lojaned my only experience with a sephora employee was when I was looking for a concealer and the lady applied it on me as a demonstration and to see the shade and whatnot.. But I think she applied too much, she did almost the full triangle under the eye that was very popular a few years ago, and at the time, under those store lights, it looked good. But she didn't set it so for the rest of the day I had it CONSTANTLY creasing on me! I was getting frustrated because I did buy the concealer.. Meanwhile I've learntt how to apply better and it's not the best concealer ever but I can make it crease way way less xD
Please don’t ever apologize for your face. I have learned so much from you! I’ve really stepped up my makeup game 😊 thank you for that!
Love that the beauty blender hack doesn’t even say/show what the products are or the result - what a great way to avoid getting claims that it doesn’t work!
I actually liked the thicker winged eyeliner better - I was like "ooh! 😍" to that one and kinda "eh" to the other super thin 'hack' one. Personal opinion. 😊But obviously the woman who did that hack looked gorgeous either way and is clearly supremely talented and great at giving instructions!
same i felt like it just looked like a line on her face. if the line across her eye was just a tiiiny bit thicker and the wing itself filled in a tiny bit more it would’ve looked so much better in my opinion! like it still could’ve been a thin liner moment but you couldn’t really see the line across her eye or the corner she made on the wing so there was just a long line coming from her eye lol
Pretty sure the qtip with micellar water will "ruin my base" and expose my purply red eye corners bestie, but you do you 😂 she made that way more complicated than eyeliner ever was lol. and she didn't even follow the actual shape of her waterline!
Yes, I would never draw a line that long to begin to where I need to use micellar water on my base. I like baby to medium wings 😂 don’t need my blotchy rosacea skin to show
You don’t necessarily have to follow the waterline. If I do that, my liner goes straight to my lid crease, so I do my liner straight (relative to the upper lid line) because then it doesn’t hit the crease and I don’t get transfer. It also elongates my eyes a lot more than following the lower waterline.
6:03 I think the tip of doing the bottom part of the wing line and connecting it midway is really good for getting a sharp point, but I disagree with the statement "you're doing your eyeliner wrong" or that it's too hard. Eyeliner really is just practice and finding a style that makes you feel good, regardless of your eye shape. She looked great with both styles
I hate "you're doing x wrong" because not all things work for all eye shapes, face shapes, nose shapes, etc. Following your lower lash like that hack does not work for people with round eyes, it makes you look literally insane.
I don't like that saying either for the very reason you stated. Seems *everyone* these days is a MUA, lol. I've been using makeup for 35+ yrs. I'm gonna apply my makeup the way I've been doing it. In all those yrs no ones come up to me and said "you're doing this or that wrong. This is how you should do it". At least no ones had the nerve to, lol but should they one day? Let's just say it's not going to be a pleasant one for them, lol...
That eyeliner tutorial was so funny... I'm pretty sure anyone who's watched a single beauty video from 2015 onwards knows this technique, the whole point is that the technique itself is so hard that idk anyone who actually does that on the daily 😂 I want to make a wing that follows my bottom eyelid, I just can't lmao
@@kershabeaver3312 the bat wing is a lot more forgiving for hooded eyes like ours. Even if my wing is messy, with my eyes open you really can't tell unless you get all up in my face lol
*16:45* Even before she puts any makeup on her face, she has some of the most stunning and smooth skin EVER. Her skin tone is just incredible 😲such a beautiful complexion
My issues with the eyeliner video are a) a wing that thin looks bad imo, b) my eyes are not even. If I follow my lower lash line the liner will significantly exacerbate the unevenness and make my whole face look wonky. Same with drawing towards my eyebrows. One is shorter than the other, so my longer brow matches my droopier eye, and my shorter brow matches my more lifted eye. You don’t notice that my eyes aren’t symmetrical when I have no makeup on, but as soon as I apply makeup that follows the shape of my eyes it becomes VERY obvious
15:30 as someone who has glasses, hooded eyes, and eyebrows realllllly close to my lids, please, if you have any of these, darken the outer corners of your eyes and highlight the inner corner… don’t darken your whole socket you won’t see it 💀
Robert, you've lost your mind apologizing that we "have to look at you" ... we have been BLESSED by your beauty!! Btw, the redness really doesn't look too awful on camera, in my opinion. I also have sensitive skin too though so maybe that's why it doesn't look too alarming to me...? I love you! You're too cute when you smiled at the "makeup egg"

To do liquid eyeliner I use an angled brush to stamp in the lines with black eye shadow (or whatever colour liner i'm doing). Then I just trace the lines and fill in the gap with the liquid eyeliner.
You’re the reason I stopped baking! I didn’t understand why I looked so aged and dry all of the time while the beauty influencers looked so flawless. I’ve since switched to ALL cream and liquid products, and I feel beautiful again. 🙏🏻
LOVE following the bottom waterline for eyeliner! Plus I've got very hooded eyes so it makes life so much easier to practically ignore the top 🤣 Most of the time I just do it in a darker eyeshadow too
The eyeliner hack is what I do to get my lines and wing even....now whether or not they stay thin depends on the look I'm going for lol. I love a thick liner, it changes the shape of my eyes. When she says a thicker liner makes you feel like you need a lash, that's definitely me b/c my eyes are small, if I'm only wearing mascara I tend to do a thinner wing and liner.
I must say I use the kryolan dermacolour waterproof powder and that setting spray for under water scenes and the makeup doesn’t move. Highly recommend for oily skin types x
I'm so very very sorry to hear this, hopefully your baby is frolicking and free on the other side of the rainbow bridge with a whole new batch of friends. We never forget our furry family ❤❤❤
I find with liquid eyeliner that starting at the outside and going in is easier. You like tilt the pen to line up with the bottom line of your lashes and just pull it straight down. You still get that sharp edge but it’s so much easier. Plus you can clean up the edge with a qtip and makeup remover if you mess it up anyway.
The best thing I did was stop applying foundation all over my face. By the time I blended the opposite side of my face, it was dry and wouldn’t move. Plus I feel like I use less product too.
This was like a 2 for 1 video.. getting to see how you laminate your eyebrows too. “Honestly, I’m fine. Please don’t worry for me” 😂 You always make me smile.
“I absolutely love that hack…… No, I have no idea what’s going on.” That’s me to almost every beauty TikTok. I’m like what am I supposed to be seeing here?
I have completely fallen in love with watching Robert & James they really are so incredible. Thank you guys for doing what you do. You both are so beyond beautiful and intelligent. There’s no other way I’d rather spend my free time I swear 🙏🥺🖤
It is very true as you age the lines under your eye become so obvious, especially when you use make-up/concealer/foundation can accentuate them. Minimal use and blending of products totally helps. I never use dark liner under my eye. Heavy glitter products are also difficult for aging eyes. And since I wear glasses, I have to pay attention to how much product is on my eyes, because it magnifies as well. Thanks, Robert for including that TikTok! xo
I liked the bit about waiting after you apply sunscreen before you do your makeup. I wait between all of my moisturizing steps for the product to soak in. I have dry skin and use a lot of light moisturizers (toner, essence, serums and water gels). I find the quick absorption in thinner layers is better for me and I still get a great makeup application if I don't rush it.

I'm glad somebody said it. Just because one person can't do shimmers and glitters does not mean the rest of us can't. And to be honest, the "don't" side seriously just looked like she was making it as messy as possible when it doesn't have to be.
I love my all-nighter spray lol. After I’m done with my base I spray the allnighter then bounce my beautyblender and with my fenty foundation it works really well, but then again I prefer to just use concealer where I need it instead of foundation all over my face

As the lady who was talking about the transfer proof makes up started talking, I was thinking “I hope it’s not Kryolan! “Just remembering a time Robert said he used it to keep makeup on his tattoo at Disney all day and that it worked but he was uncertain what it might do to the face because it worked so well!!
I couldn’t stop looking at the cling wrap around Robert’s head.
Don't look. Just listen. It's a podcast. I 💜 Robert.
I swear that Kryolan spray is just straight up hairspray, it makes your makeup CRUNCHY.
