I remember in at least one of her videos, judy had this epiphany that one of the places she went to was very likely just a money laundering scheme. She heard them talking (in a language she understood), that they were flustered because she walked into their makeup studio wanting makeup done, and they had no clue where the lipstick was. No one had any idea how to do makeup, and she went in for a bridal look lmao.

I saw this one, Luxeria did a reaction video for it. There are rather wacky conspiracies about it but they don't make sense. The popular one I have seen is that it's a human trafficking front which is hilarious. They gave permission for them to make a VIDEO to publish on the Internet. Money laundering might be the most plausible, but they were talking smack about other customer's makeup jobs so they obviously do makeup there. And even though it wasn't great it was no worse than the other MUAs Judy D has gone to. It's a gross exaggeration to say nobody had any idea how to do makeup.

Judy is like Mr burns at this point. She has every disease from these biohazard makeup places but they all cancel each other out and she’s indestructible now 😭

As a licensed Esthetician that does makeup in the US I'm mortified. The redness and flaking could have been caused by bacteria. She is so lucky she didn't get a serious infection.
Hello :) I'm just a fellow makeup enjoyer, not an artist, nothing like that. I am really curious about how can you santize the eye crayon that goes on the inside of the eyelid? Those crayons are very specific, hard and water proof, and are very hard to apply with a brush, especially because brushes cause irritation and tickle a lot when used on the inside part of the eyelid. So do you just spray the crayon with a sanitizer or maybe have any alternative tools or eyeliner pomades? How do you apply them then?
@@frogqua Alcohol is the best way to sanitize pencil eyeliners. I typically spray a paper towel liberally with alcohol and let the entire tip of the pencil kind of soak. If it needs to be sharpened make sure you have sanitized the pencil sharpener beforehand and again sanitize the pencil after. This can only be done to actual pencils such as urban decays eyeliners. The self sharpening to the ones that you twist to get more product are very difficult to actually sanitize with out contaminating them. Hope this helps!

Really convienent! Think how much less Space it takes. They should do this also in hospitals in operation rooms. Just pile up all that’s needed on the patient and you can do surgeries in way smaller spaces. Innovative!
I think it would be beneficial if you make a complete *how to be sanitary* type of video for any aspiring mua's (or just regular people) who follow you. I think hygene isnt talked about too much in general in the 'beauty guru' side of social media.
I'm a model and I know when an MUA is dirty and has dirty products because I will end up getting a stye the following day ☹

@@RobertWelsh there are a lot of experiences 😅 but for sure the top two unsanitary practices, in my experience, is liquid eyeliner (or felt tip pen eyeliner) straight from the tube using the built in wand & mascara applied with the built in wand.

The first time I ever paid to have my makeup done my eyes wouldn't stop watering and they were red af afterwards. Full tears were coming down my face. The guy openly blamed me to his colleague (& I thought it was my fault). The second time I had my makeup done I told them I have sensitive eyes that water a lot... nope. Turns out when done properly, my eyes don't water at all.

I went to a high-end salon in an expensive resort. It was highly rated and I decided to get my makeup done for a wedding I was in town for. I asked if I should bring my foundation (I am a Latina) and they said “no, our MUA is highly trained and can mix colors to match your color and tonality”. I said cool but booked my appt hours before the wedding I was attending as a precaution. Thank goodness I did that. The makeup was so greasy, completely wrong color and it turned my face gray, like night of living dead gray. I also had to ask her to fix eye make up 3 times cause it was not blended correctly. From the time I left the salon, went up the elevator, and made it to my room (5 min) the foundation oxidized. I walked into the room and my husband asked what happened. My neck and body was brown and my face was chalk, ashtrays grey. I had to wash my face and redo my makeup. Wasted $200 buck. I have had my makeup done by some incredibly talented MUA. That was not one of them.
I'm mixed race and Latina too and I know how you feel. I was just saying on another comment some makeup artists out here make you too light or too dark and it's ridiculous. Some people are just NOW learning and focusing on undertones, which is very important and should of been a thing a long time ago. Unfortunately places like where Judy D is are still far behind and I'm scared for that girls health.
@@mslita09 Absolutely! Undertone are extremely important, I'm French/Italian and I have an olive undertone. I went to do my makeup professionally 2 times and both times my foundation was awful, I looked kinda green/gray and quite sick. Awful experience!
tbh same, and i kind of decided that If i ever get married, no fucking way am i getting makeup done by a stranger, i had to have seen their work before. (hopefully, it will turn out like that lol)
and yeah, some "MUA"s are just a total fake and disaster, especially when it comes to the lashes, contour, color match, and tone.
Totally understand this! I'm Middle-Eastern/North African with olive tones and yikes is finding foundation that doesn't look crazy on you rough! I probably wouldn't trust an MUA that wouldn't ask a few questions why I wanted to bring my foundation like, "do you have allergies or sensitivities?" or "what happens if you use a different brand?" One simple question and all that could have been avoided!

@@frozenraspberries1552 I agree - though I would be most worried about herpes simplex infecting her eyes given the horrendous hygiene. Many people are not aware herpes simplex that affects the lips can also infect the eyes. Income from TH-cam is not worth risking your eyesight for.

I always felt like not everyone was cut out to be a makeup artist when I hired a MUA pretty well liked in my hometown but they had ONE look for everyone. I'm an asian with hooded eyes and my makeup looked TERRIBLE, my eyes just looked lost somewhere in the eyeshadow, I told her my eyelashes / eyes HURT and stung, and come to find out that she ignored the part where I told her "I have pretty sensitive skin, so please avoid these brands or these chemicals specifically as they've broken me out or caused a reaction before." She ignored me because her "makeup kit" as she called it, a bag full of makeup, was all she used. It was her "godsend stuff." It's petty of me, but she did NOT get a tip as my eyes turned bright red and when I washed it off the sensitive skin near the corners of my eyes were raw and peeling. Just because you like makeup, just cause you're good at applying your own makeup, does not mean you're a MUA. I wholeheartedly agree with your intro, from first hand experience!
I remember being in Jr. High and everyone thought I did great makeup. A girl BEGGED me to do her makeup for picture day and I kept denying, but eventually her friends started bullying me for not doing it and I did it. It was my first time ever doing it on someone else, and our eyes shapes were so drastically different that it looked horrible. Everyone thought I did it on purpose, but I just had no idea what I was doing. No one bothered me again though lol.

For the first few minutes I thought, "this can't be real, this is some cruel joke" until I saw her poor eyes in the days after. I cannot even begin to fathom how disgusting that whole ordeal was. Its amazing she didn't immediately develop cellulitis on her face. It was a very good call to ask for no mascara! Also can we talk about that stripe of unblended concealer that sat on her nose for 45 minutes?? God bless Judy for determination because I think I would have had a meltdown in that chair...

When I was in makeup school a girl in my class would grind her brushes into your faces like this guy did. It’s basically road rash. The same shit happened to me! Hers definitely looks a little… infected though. 🤢

I went for a bridal makeup trial and she used her own dirty tiny bag of makeup 😭 and she had COMPLETELY different colouring from. I, embarrassingly, paid and left crying
Damn. You deserve to have been a bridezilla then: scream and demand that you're not paying, you didn't get services promised. If you paid for bridal makeup and got a tramp look instead, you deserve a refund.
Judy needs to have a whole week of professionals pamper her for all the abuse she takes from these “makeup artists”. Like petition to get Robert, Mario, Scott Barnes and many more to give her actual looks
She has a video where she went somewhere and had a face full of Charlotte Tilbury makeup done by a TRUE Pro MUA. The artist was fabulous and Judy looked amazing after!

There is Mexican Makeup artist that usually reacts also to Judy D, and she sometimes does "saving the make up" where she shows what would have been the "right" way to do it. Maybe that could be a fun concept for this one.

In case anyone wants to know how the worst reviewed "mua?" is getting away with what seems literally illegal, it's because Judy is located in Ecuador and the laws there are rather lax. For now. I have a distinct feeling her videos will have a big part in improving the situation.

I'm from Ecuador and yes I agree! I know it must be a cultural shock for some people but take into consideration that first, we are literally not used to suing places and second, I doubt that any government authority would accept a lawsuit for bad makeup like there are so many important things to take care for... Cheap informal places like this one are EVERYWHERE and we know the "MUA's" don't have a proper training nor tools, but that's all that some people can afford
(btw if you are curious, a makeup like this would cost around $15 - $25)

You can still hear the pain and trauma in her voice when she's talking about how painful it was and how it physically harmed her.
Out of all she's been through with so many different artists, I think this one traumatized her a little.

Very true. My clients come to me not just because I am good at makeup. They come to me because I’m fast, sanitary, and I provide a comfortable experience. You gotta give people better than what they can do themselves if you wanna charge money for it.

I've been bingeing a bunch of your Judy D reactions and this one just has me speechless. I have no idea what that man was trying to accomplish at any point. Just going back and forth between shadow and concealer over and over....and leaving all that unblended concealer on her undereyes and nose??? It was BIZARRE. Where did this man learn makeup? Was he just guessing???
So breathtaking how Robert can just immediately whip out that eye look and improve upon the original attempt that other artist did. Just shows Robert’s level of skill and artistry. Beautiful!

Jeez, I feel so bad for Judy here. I once over-blended my eyeshadow once for like 20 minutes and my eyes were so sore afterwards. (I wasn’t satisfied with my blending technique before, and I didn’t have the correct blending brush. And apparently I think I was allergic to something in that shadow’s formula too hahaha.) Can’t imagine how her eyes feel in this video.
I used to rub the skin around my brows raw with a q-tip trying to do some better precision. They’re so delicate 😩
I have been watching her for a few years and just adore her. I find myself yelling at my phone "No Judy, they're going to destroy your skin!" She's just too cute.
These videos make my heart hurt for Judy, especially when they put her down, but she always takes it like a trooper. I absolutely love when she actually gets pampered and her makeup done right. I wish I could get a hold of her face just once, shes naturally gorgeous.

I watch you because I am untalented in doing my makeup. I've learned quite a bit. I have an interest in special effects makeup. Your tutorials on contouring have helped me with designing latex additions and proper placement on my face. The blending of colors and proper techniques have also been very useful. Lastly, skin preparation and care has made my sfx endeavors much more enjoyable and maintaining a sanitary space and tools has made acne outbreaks nonexistent. I hadn't realized the level that my own facial oils can have on my own face when my brushes aren't maintained. Particularly when using adhesives for additional latex pieces being added, on occasion.

I honestly like how Robert recreate the disaster makeup. It’s just nice to see that a person’s trash can be another person’s treasure.
As a cosmetologist/esthetician/makeup artist, I seriously can’t believe how places like this get away with unsanitary practices! This is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Your skin is the largest organ you have, and since it is an organ, that means that it has its own physiological composition in accordance with someone’s individual genetics. On top of that, the eyes are a mucous membrane, so that means they are constantly releasing fluids. If you are picking up byproducts from the skin and eyes and mixing them with byproducts from someone else, that is a sure fire way for infections to spread!

For someone party I can’t tell you if their things was dirty but omg the makeup done to my family were not nice. My husband was glad that I didn’t even bother spending my money and I got someone else to do it. 🙈🙈🙈

To be fair, she lives in Ecuador, where the majority have much darker skin than she does. So a lot of the artists don't even carry products light enough for her because they truly don't get customers with her skin tone ever. I try to keep that in mind. But everything else is just a lack of skill or hatred of their clients 😆
I am surprised other muas dont react to Judy's video. She puts herself at risk and I commend her for her bravery. I can't understand how her skin isn't permanently damaged by some of these nasty and expired products. She deserves an award for her service to the beauty community 💖

I really like that last bit when you recreated what the eyeshadow could have looked like if it was done professionally! 😊 Every worst reviewed MUA on Judy’s videos have some bizarre color choices and shapes. Never knew that color combo could work, if that’s the style a person is going for. (Not my style but I appreciate it)

As someone who had seen Judy's video previously, waiting for Robert to explode was the best part. This was a video for her that I kept thinking it cannot get any worse and it did, so waiting for Robert to see the entire video and waiting for him to get to the next worse part was so much fun. I love that this guy did not even put foundation on the lower part of her face, only concealer that is it.

I had a funny experience the other day. I was doing housework in my house listening to a video thinking it was you. You do reviews and other awesome videos. And I finally looked at the name of the video creator after he said, "I'm not the makeup twin." That was when I realized it was your brother James. You guys look and sound so identical it took me hearing "I'm not the makeup twin" to realize it's your brother James. I laughed for a while. You guys are awesome. But I thought it was you talking about horrible makeup accidents until I heard "I'm not the makeup twin." It was hilarious. I love both of your channels.

Can we all thank Robert and Judy for showing the dangers of improperly done makeup and lack of hygiene. I remember as a teenager sharing makeup with friends in the girls washroom and laughing at teachers who warned us you could spread different types of infections. Never shared makeup again since I found these vids

That was so extremely painful to watch. She has so much patience to deal with that. Also I am going to guess that the pencil he used in her water line wasn’t freshly sharpened either. There is no way I would of made it through this without stopping him. Wow she is brave.

If I need to get my makeup done I ALWAYS take my own products. For sanitary reasons and the fact that my products are some of the best products on the market.
