And people said he wasnt strong. He ties with Helene. The two hurricanes just had their different strong points. His tornadoes were his. Never say that a fast hurricane wont do anything. The fast ones usually do the most damage and spawn tornadoes. Helene was a flood maker but Milton was a flood maker; tornado spawner, and wind maker. They still tie though. Helene tore apart NC and he tore apart Florida.
Doesn't make sense to build these stadiums with fabric roofs. Either make them solid or just leave them open. A roof like that isn't gonna take tornados or hurricanes. Common sense thinking

I was born down here in SWFL in 1970 and grew up here. I have never seen this many tornadoes at one time and never any as destructive as a couple of these. Looks like this is the new norm. Hurricanes, we can handle. Throw in multiple EF2 or 3 tornadoes before the hurricane even gets here and it people have no defense against nature.
Man it Never makes sense!! It's like, how people are warned by authorities to evacuate and they are told it's life or death and they STILL stay behind. I can understand if you don't have money, or you're a loner with no friends, but if anything, I would contact the city, a few charity organizations, call the police non emergency or Somebody!! And try to get the heck outta there!! I'm sure there would be Somebody helps people who can't escape the city due to financial reasons. There has to be.

I've never seen tornadoes like that living down here, the warnings were coming all night. We aren't prepared for them like we are hurricanes, we don't even have basements.

I'm glad this dog was SAVED, sorry for his deceased family. In another news station REPORTED a dog that was TIED to a fence! 🤬🤬🙏 WHOEVER FKN tied that poor dog may KARMA COME after them!🤬🤬 Luckily he was RESCUED by the News people or just normal workers.🙏🙏❤️. I CAN'T STOP thinking ABOUT ALL the poor animals left behind dogs, cats homeless animals, farm animals, and the POOR wildlife. I feel really BAD for the animals, but especially cats because people CARE less about cats. It seems like the TORNADOS OUTDID the Hurricane Milton! Pretty scared. It was 4 million and power restored to over 1 million within hours. The citizens don't suffer here. Things get restored immediately. That's why we stay. These other states are a mess...

Im curious, is there a reason Florida doesn't bury its power lines?? Is it a soil/sand issue?? Makes sense that with all these storms that come through, that having all your communications and power grid underground would be helpful..
They do. in my area of northern florida 90% of the power lines put down by FPL in the last 10 years have been underground and we have not lost power from a hurricane in at least a decade. Some parts of Florida are more recently developed and other have old infrastructure so its hard to say. I would assume its a cost issue to redo the old power lines.

They would not have sent any at all. Here is another thing to think about. We spent a third of our pay goes to taxes. We can send money to Iran…. Iran yes. Fiberglass specifically designed to stand up to hurricanes. Common sense thinking is googling before spouting off about things you're ignorant about
Got to admit, that structure is not exactly where I would go to seek shelter.
I think its better to have a fabric roof that can be easily replaced, than a sturdy roof that can fly off and hurt people in hurricane season.

The tornado outbreak began 12 hours before the hurricane even came, it was extremely under predicted and more destructive than the hurricane itself.

Im curious, is there a reason Florida doesn't bury its power lines?? Is it a soil/sand issue?? Makes sense that with all these storms that come through, that having all your communications and power grid underground would be helpful..

They do. in my area of northern florida 90% of the power lines put down by FPL in the last 10 years have been underground and we have not lost power from a hurricane in at least a decade. Some parts of Florida are more recently developed and other have old infrastructure so its hard to say. I would assume its a cost issue to redo the old power lines.

@@SeaTravelr123 The newer the subdivision the better, they have to bury cables , but most of us in North Florida , are rural. Dirt roads, with agricultural in-between and woods everywhere. Where i live the smallest parcel is 5 acres.

@spirals73it is true. I was there. They didn’t send help right away like they have in Florida. If it had not made the news of volunteers out doing the government help. They would not have sent any at all. Here is another thing to think about. We spent a third of our pay goes to taxes. We can send money to Iran…. Iran yes. But we don’t even have the money to help our own…. Look it up don’t just take my word on it.
