They are planning on overhauling the combat system to where you don't have to level up in each episode. They are also doing paragon points and skill trees. Andrew said its release is "high priority" so hopefully we get it soon.
Nice to see some opionion and journey through the game that's very similiar to mine - i love the game. I can see all the problems the game has, but the recent infopost about combat skills really showed me that they care about the community.
I think the fact that it's sort of a passion project is going to keep the game being supported for a long time, even if the playerbase shrinks by a lot. I also think a lot of players are just going to come back for a week or two whenever a new act drops.
This is very well done bro! Thanks for sharing! Been wanting to try this game, grew up playing OSRS, it's my favorite game of all time. Pretty disappointed in some of the design choices by Gower but I am still gonna give it a try.
It's definitely worth giving a shot, especially if you're a Runescape fan. Luckily they're listening to the community so some of the more unpopular design decisions are being changed. They just announced recently that they're combining the combat skills.
enjoyed the video, this game isn't gonna be everyone's cup of tea, and that's ok, but to anyone who doesn't want to play now i would say try again 3-6 months from now there will be some changes and i think it will be a lot better, i think a lot of people forget its only an early access and all feedback gets taken into consideration as has been shown so far
They're Episodes, not "acts." Also the chef in the kitchen wasn't made stationary until the 26th of November which proves you didn't record this video at launch. Kinda strange.
Why would I lie about that? This was recorded over about 7 weeks starting at launch. The kitchen clip at 3:55 is from towards the end, notice my gear. 4:30 is from launch day, notice how everyone is level 10-20.
I think you're right. Something is just fishy about this video. At 0:22 he also says "I'll talk more on that later when I get to the members only content" yet he never brings it up again??? I find it interesting when it comes to paid content his actions seem so inconsistent. It might be an ego issue. Perhaps he didn't get to play at launch and is jealous of us who did? Make sure you show this video and point out his suspicious behavior to as many people as you possibly can, so they know to watch out for him in the future.
Carpenter is a production skill that is used for weapon crafting so it is in fact not a 1 for 1 of cooking you need poles for some weapon crafting all of BW some of Stonemason and blacksmith. Foraging feeds into chef, alchemy Gather feeds into alchemy chef and BW WC feed into carp and all three weapon crafts fishing feeds chef mining feeds BW and SM Merchant feeds Leather working with discounts and alchemy LW will feed into Armoring in episode 5 Mine fighter and Watchmen have regents for alchemy from certain mob drops
For Carpentry/Cooking I was moreso talking about the training loop being identical. I do think Carpentry is a better skill overall since it does tie into the weapon production skills. Foraging/gathering I think the only reason they're two separate skills is so they didn't have to cram all of the materials into a single act, but they created those constraints themselves by making each skill usable in only one act. Merchant is probably the best designed skill in my opinion. It's the most unique, at least. They've said they're combining the combat skills soon, so we'll see how the community like that. I support the change.
@@jacoblestina8455 By then the player count will be around 500-700 a day. By then you are better off waiting for Riot's MMO which will come out flurished.
Everyone on the 07scape subreddit trash talking this game are actual morons. I have migrated entirely to brighter shores while the rest of my osrs subscription lays to waste, and recent "choices" made by jagex and their corporate overlords have only solidified my decision further. People who understand the foundations of an incredibly solid game and understand who andrew gower is will know that brighter shores is the future of this genre, not osrs. And everyone calling it bad will be crawling back to play in a couple years. But honestly, I'd rather gatekeep this game and curate a new fanbase instead of having all the sweaty pvmers come and try to push for constant end game combat updates which has damaged the value of the rest of the games skilling. Side note: passive xp rates get way better the higher your level, becoming incredibly valuable at 200+
Excellent upload. I appreciate the commentary

Just found this video and subscribed
The closed loop skilling needs to be changed, and every node just changing color and calling it better content

I agree with this. I think the game is going to look very different in the future.
Well put together review!

we have rs3, osrs and now brighter shores, the latter is the shit game now.
It's the most boring ''game'' in existence. It has nothing going for it.
its unique in a terrible way, this was a huge disappointment
Agreed game worst I ever played
OSRS is best and always will be lol
My maxed ironman agrees with you lol
