Some of the best connections with people have been at bars, some of the worst were with Church People. When it comes to sexuality, all I got from Church was guilt and shame. Then one day I became aware that I was gay. I was 52. My whole life suddenly made sense. I found a nude picture in an encyclopedia when I was 12. I showed my brother. He closed the book and said nothing. That's when I went deep into the closet. Back to present day when I told me church "friends", more than 90% of them turned their back and no longer have any contact with me. I was still a believer for another 8 or 9 years. I wonder what they would say if I told them I was also atheist. I could write a list of all the "goings on" that I heard about "fine upstanding" church folk. Of course, I won't. But they all got hissy about me being gay. They never gave me the chance to tell them I happen to be celibate.

Talking to religious people should be done kindly and with respect. My parents taught me to never talk about religion or politics in polite society. And that, friends, is what I tell people wanting to engage me in religious or political discussions. It's a no no. I AM a Christian lady and have been so all my life. Didn't I have smart parents?
Yes. Most times I'm like: You have your beliefs and views on life and I have those too. Now, let's talk about some nice hobbies, great activities and good food. 😂 How difficult can it be?
Those "christian holidays" are actually pagan (originally)...so I go all-out and celebrate them the ORIGINAL way, and have fun with them....alot of this "offends my Catholic/Mormon family, but I hope they wake up one day!!!!!
@@booksquid856 I celebrate Samhain, which is the Celtic observance of the Day of the Dead, in the Gaelic language, the word "Samhain" means the end of summer, so its an astronomical event, and NOT a man-made holiday...I also celebrate Winter Solstice, instead of "christmas"....again, because its an actual event, not a man-made holiday, and for the most part I try to attune with nature.
@@Reclaimtherainbow_Gen9 YES they are....there's literally THOUSANDS of years of history to back it up....and Im Irish, the Irish, Scottish, Welsh and some Brits have celebrated these "holidays" for HUNDREDS (if not thousands of years) long before "Christians" adapted them. This is a fact of history, not mythology, or opinion.
@@Reclaimtherainbow_Gen9 Yes- all Christian holidays have pagan roots. The church fathers in order to entice pagans to Christianity absorbed and incorporated some pagan beliefs and rituals for that purpose. That is why Jehovah witness members and other fundamentalists Christian’s do NOT celebrate Christian holidays like the more mainstream Christians do.
It's crazy that the Oklahoma Superintendent of schools wants the bible to be part of the elementary school curriculum. It appears he wants it taught as a history lesson. I fear science curriculum will be removed.
DUDE 😳 I hope you're one of those people who can just walk away from nicotine. I started smoking at 13. My mom was a smoker, all of her family smoked (dad's side didn't) IT'S THE WORST ADDICTION EVER. I'm 44 now. Been on the Juul vape for a couple of years and honestly I think the vape might be worse than smoking. Anyway, / end rant. Off to finish listening lol
@timmygibsonkc my partner switched to Zyn when we quit the ciggs. After watching this, I tried one😂 My cheek is still burning lol anyway, I love your honesty! Found you thru C2C btw 🥰
Tell them the holiday is YULE and it was pagan. Charlemagne snatched Yule from the pagans and made it Christmas. The pagans cut trees for Yule and burned a Yule log in the fireplaces. Drcember 25 is not a Christian holiday. Neither is Easter. It was originally Oststa and was in honor of the pagan fertility godddess. Think bunnies reproducing so often and eggs. Fertility. Christians can celebrate them but need to know that their origins are not Christian
At the end, the true test is to tell the Holy Spirit to piss off & take a hike!😅😅 I heard someone say they won’t believe you left Christianity unless you say that out loud. THE UNFORGIVABLE SIN… cause some people will use the once saved always saved deal, but if you curse the spirit, that trumps OSAS
