Religion has always been a way to "manage" people. I believe the bible was well intentioned. With regard to sexuality, I believe there has always been an interest in protecting children and the family. But you're asking the right questions. As we discover our gay or trans friends, the bible isn't helpful. So how do we move forward with love and compassion without the guidance of the bible?

Anytime one wants someone to gossip or say something about others doors shut. Even when you pray about things about others. Doors shut. Then one has to ask for forgiveness. Angels do hear your thoughts and they will twist your thoughts to see what you manifest. They use your own mind.

The fact that the Bible says it's "the Breath of Life that makes a living soul." Nothing about the moment of conception. So we can't count on a fetus having a soul, until it breathes. And these people have to believe that God is a stupid idiot,if he knows everything, and knows that the fetus is going to be miscarried or aborted,yet still sends a soul into it. Why? Just to mess with us? Challenge us? Hahaha. I believe that all of creation has the "spark of God"within, that Spirit is in everything, everywhere, always, but just because the energetic field responds to it,as it does to everything, doesn't mean we're talking about a living human being with an eternal soul and conscious. I believe that Evangelical Christianity is a cult for several reasons... But I still follow the teachings of Jesus and practice faith as Jesus taught it. It's so sad that fundamentalist crazies have perverted the teachings of Jesus, hijacked Christianity, and hurt people to the point that they completely lost their faith. No one has the right to use the man-made words of the Bible to justify oppressing other groups of people, smashing their self-worth, or killing their faith! I consider myself an Agnostic HUMANIST Christian in that I read the Bible discerningly, not literally, and focus on the words and wisdom of Jesus. I don't impose my views on others but seek wisdom wherever it can be found: science, history, and shared experiences with people of good will.

When I was evangelical, I used to worry that I was doomed because continuing to sin was like considering Jesus death was common or I was a dog to be cursed [Hebrews 6:4-6 and 2 Peter 2:12-22]. As an atheist now, all these vile pastors, abusers and liars, I would love to convict them on these lines, but I'm also concerned of the resulting suicide rates for those "true" believers. At the same time, the amount of destruction and damage these Abrahmic faiths have caused the world over needs to end at some point. Does anyone see a way to both bring the fear of "god" to show the hypocrisy of those who are committing actual evil to the human race, while at the same time moving away from the belief in a biblical Yahweh? I don't know. Maybe something like, "I'm not attacking you because you are a "Christian", but because you are a liar, bigot, etc. If I was a Christian, I would be attacking you because you have brought shame, consider the most perfect sacrifice a simple and common thing, and have no love for any of Yahweh's creation" I feel like us ex-christian have an unique position where we both understand the delusion and judgements a believer holds, but because of that can easily be labelled a devil or false believer (the devil knows the scriptures I've heard said). I'd love to be considered Balaams donkey, but it is hard to 1. Shake a Christianity in their own faith and judgement when you are now outside, and 2. I know very well the teaching you are talking about and it is so toxic. But I have also been under the teaching of a church where we taught children how they are created in the image of God and therefore contain immense beauty. It is often difficult to tell how much of it is really Christianity and how much is fundamentalism. To your point, I feel like modern fundamentalists are very different than the original followers of Jesus. They have almost come full circle and have become exactly like the Pharisees that Jesus spoke against.

I’m not afraid of being judged by a supreme being…not because I’ve lived an exemplary perfect life, because I certainly haven’t. I’ve done things that I’m not proud of, but by the same token, I’ve done many things that I’m proud of…but at the end of it all, I’m not afraid of being judged because I’m just a human being living, being and doing all the “normal” things that most other“normal thinking” human beings are doing.

The European connection to the Middle East is the connection to this particular tribal desert religion. If the Hindus or Bhuddists were there, instead, the Europe-American connection would be talking up Blue Krishna, the devis, and practicing Ahimsa or non-harm of all living things. How about this for nutty; I thought to see Jesus for real… I had to be perfect like him.. It was an evangelical Christian pastor who healed my tumor in the name of Jesus. While I don’t appreciate how rude they can be to others, I still think they’re good people, just blinded by their own beliefs. Being a New Ager was fun, but at that time, when I needed salvation, I didn’t have anyone to pray to. I’m a Christian now, but I don’t believe Jesus agrees with everything they claim or supports such a punishing perspective. I have a personal relationship with God, and I’ve found that prayer, when done with intention, can be just as beneficial as meditation or journaling.

I’m a 59-year-old woman who was raised by a Pentecostal preacher/pastor and a Jehovah’s Witness mother (that was a lot of fun 🙄). I wasn’t ever allowed to go to my father’s church because not only did they speak in tongues, but they also handled deadly poisonous snakes, drank strychnine, handled fire….they were what was called a “full gospel” church. So I only went to the Kingdom Hall with my mother, but I heard many LOUD biblical discussions between my parents. I don’t really know what happened, but when I turned 18, my mother was excommunicated from the JW church, and she converted to being a Pentecostal believer like my father. Shortly afterwards, she was diagnosed with breast cancer…and she refused all treatment in lieu of praying to God for a healing miracle. She and my father went all over the place to visit different faith healing preachers, where they would anoint her head and lay hands on her and pray for her. Eventually, the cancer metastasized and she started having symptoms of ovarian cancer (once you have symptoms, that type of cancer is usually terminal), but she continued to pray for a healing….long story short, she died a very painful and pitiful death…she was 57 years of age…I was 23. It was shortly after her death that it hit me like a ton of bricks that not only did prayer not work, but that there was no God listening to her cry, pray and beg to be healed….it was all a BIG LIE! This pissed me off so much….I felt like I’d been lied to all of my life…I was livid, but who could I be angry with? No one lied to me on purpose. So that was 36 years ago, and I really grappled with it back and forth for many years…but I finally settled it in my brain about 7 years ago once and for all. I don’t pray, but I do always have a heart and attitude of gratitude. I certainly don’t believe in the god of the bible; however, I do believe in the possibility that there could be something out there in the ether. Like you Timmy, I’m definitely an Atheist as it relates to the god of the bible, but I guess I would say I’m agnostic in every other aspect. I’m glad I found your channel…I’ve been enjoying it. 😊

Yeshua says in The Gospel of Mary Magdalene: "There is no sin, but it is you who make sin when you do the things that are like the nature of adultery, which is called sin". Yeshua does not "save" from sin. You create sin for yourselves and must help yourselves. The "salvation" Yeshua brings is the salvation of The Christ in the garden, the salvation of gnosis, of knowledge. All knowledge including the knowledge of who you really are.

Thanks for presenting the TRUTH! I was in the A/G from age 14 until just a few ago(I'm 64). I even attended Southwestern A/G College(now university). I'm still "in the closet". It just seems so hard to let some people in my life know.

I'm a universalist. I'm not a Christian universalist because I don't believe Paul's teaching that Jesus died as a sacrifice for my sins. What Jesus really died to do was to release the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the Yahweh God of the Old Testament. He had to die in order to go back to the Father. He could only die through the agency of a special man, one whom He was enough like that He would not separate from Him even in death. It's all in the bible, but those people never read it. They don't read a lot of things. They make up the age of accountability and other things rather than face what I just said. Yahweh came when the Father breathed Him into Adam, so that Adam could benefit from His wisdom. We miss how that was too much like a self-driving car for the Father, one with Yahweh as a safety driver. The Father wanted us to really be like Him. That wouldn't be true if we never separated from Him as beings in charge of our own destiny capable of making mistakes. In order for that to be the case, we would need experience. Otherwise, it's just magic. But, no, God has not condemned anybody. He just wants us to grow up. It looks like you have.
