A ja w pokoju z słuchawkami odpływam przy Budgie. Teraz sam jestem rodzicem. Ten utwór jeszcze bardziej melancholijny. Czas, życie, mgnienie oka.
When I was 15 years old I used to sit on my bed play my accoustic and sing 'Riding My Nightmare' and 'You Know I'll Always Love You' but this song I used to go to bed and listen to this with my eyes closed. Loved it. Sometimes waking up in the middle of the night with my record player still on, humming and headphones still on. Magic memories. Budgie, Cardiff's finest.
I've been listening to this song for over 30 years now and still can't find words to describe its beauty. Budgie - the most underrated band in history.
We lent each other records, I lent Brain Salad Surgery, he lent Never turn your back on a friend, we swapped them back after two weeks but I had to buy my own I was 15 and hooked. Headphones on eyes closed and surrounded by this work of harmony and gritty playing, in 2021 I feel the same way I listen to this on my laptop, eyes closed and time traveling back on a wave of pure beautiful nostalgia, this and riding my nightmare... just bloody incredible.
I know the word gets thrown about a lot these days but Tony Bourge is one of the most underrated guitarists of all time, his playing in this is so beautiful. Budgie on the whole is underrated and relatively unknown even by those who listen to similar music from the 70's. So glad my dad showed me this incredible band
This is one of my favorite songs of all time, I was 17 when I bought this album in 1974, and I still remember the first time I put it on my turntable and the sound poured out of my JBL speakers... what a wonderful time the 70's was .
Big up to hard rock welsh giants from Zagreb, real good meaningfull music Budgie was playin from the get go deserved to be on top like Who,Zeppellin,Thin Lizzy etc
Znakomita kompozycja. Całkowicie ponadczasowa. Można tworzyć piękno zaledwie na trzech instrumentach. Dwie gitary, perkusja i znakomity wysoki wokal. To prawdziwa perła wśród ponadczasowych kompozycji
The beauty of this song to me is like listening to it in the paecefulness of the forest with the chirping of the birds and the rustling of the trees and hearing the waves of the ocean coming in at the same time. This song transports me to both at the same time. And thats without the acid.
This song gets me every time deep and meaningful🤔 probably one of their best 🤔😎 If you are not nodding your head to this then there is no hope for you.
I was very intrigued by the sound of that song "Pyramids" from this album (and also the title of course) Upon hearing it I could not avoid but to think of some tracks on the Judas Priest' "Point of Entry" from a few years later, stuff like Solar Angels and Desert Plains
This band released so much amazing stuff. It is beyond belief how they did not make it really big. Lack of backing I guess. They were brilliant. A travesty of justice.
I thought I was a huge Budgie fan in the 70's and I never heard this song! So thankful to those that keep this music alive. Amazing song....ditto: UNDER RATED band. I hope Burke Shelley checks these videos out and sees all the love.
Only now I realize, why my parents had to try.....Love you all and keep you all my life! RIP Burke Shelly. Thanks for being part of the music of my teenage years.
My favorite song on this album! Never Turn Your Back on a Friend takes me back nearly 40 years! I must’ve played this album a thousand times! Thanks for the upload!! 🙌🏻👏🏻👏🏻🥰
Holy shit yooooooooooo I always just thought it was birds chirping but now this makes perfect sense why they used this on the song cus it's about parents. Got me in the feels now wow
How can I have never heard of this til today??? Great song, lyrics, vocals and a guitarist that flips from smooth and tasty to aggro and in your face! I liked Breadfan a lot but this is amazing!
Listening To This Song, It Brought Tears Into My Eyes. Reminisching About My Childhood & When I Was Young. I Miss Those Good Old Days, When Things Were Simpler And This World Was Alot Better (Saner)
Said already... most underrated band ever...they were awesome musicians. Every few years, get back into their music and re-visit it all over again. Been listening to them for 20 years or more...
I absolutely love that this song... (which is probably my most favorite song from Budgie...) Plays for 11:11 it's entirety... 11 minutes, & 11 seconds...hmmm, I wonder if Budgie did that purposely...they were mos definitely ahead of their time ❤🎯🎶🎹🎤🎼🎵🔊🎸😎☺😊💡🌍👏💬🙏🌱💪💞💨✊🍃⚡🌌👥💭🌟💥🌐👀🔥✨
Aside from the awesome giutar/bass/drums etc. in this song, as a teenager, I learned a very valuable life lesson on growing up and how important my family and friends were, are and always be in my life!
Speak English!!! This is America!!!! The internet is American!!!! Everybody on the internet speaks English!!!!! Take your foreign mumbo jumbo and ickstay ithay uphay ouryay asshay !!!!! No immigrants allowed on the internet!!!! Trump should ban non-americans from the internet!!!! Speak English!!! This is America!!!!!!
This song used to always make me cry instantly. I lost my dad when I was 7 years old to alcoholism/drugs and I really owe a lot of my current love for music to him. We would take car rides and listen to Santana, The Doors, Hendrix, Elvis Presley, Hendrix, etc. and I took it from there! Thank you Budgie for helping me embrace my loss and RIP Burke Shelley.
60 years old thought id heard everything rock had produced at least once. i was apparently wrong, this is my 1st experience with the band i am pleasently impressed. wonder why ive never heard of them, for some reason i keep waiting to hear them play a rock copy of my funny valentine
Fantastic musicianship as well as the artwork. The budgie has a log held. The other set of talons is in attack mode. The whip makes a face on the beige / brown rocks. An eye, a smile, and a nose. The highest stone on the stack on the right resembles ET's face, he is sliding into the green lake. The big mountain has a horn like a unicorn, beneath that, there are eyes and the face of a Moomin. The beige / brown mountainside between and behind the budgie wings clearly depicts the face of a predator. A bear, a fox, or something similar, it is there. I'm sure that there are other hidden meanings. What a superb song.
Excellent album! Every song is solid, there's lots of crunchy guitars and cool solos, production is solid. And Breadfan is terrific. Thanks for uploading the entire album and sharing.
Amazing song. Beautyful álbum. La caratula es iconográfica. La mejor banda de los '70. Mi disco de cabecera. It's the soundtrack of my youth. Thanx for the uploading. Saludos. From Bucaramanga, Santander, Colombia.
RIP Burke Shelley your gift to us will always be treasured.
RIP

@@petergonzales6633 What does pink floyd have to do with Budgie?

Man sad to hear of Burke Shelleys death. At least he made a few masterpieces like this song during his life. Rest i peace legend.

seems like a whole lot of bands took "inspiration" from Budgie stuff without mentioning them
PLAYING THIS TRACK ON 2X SPEED WILL GRANT YOU ALL THE THINGS YOU EVER WANTED, AND MAGICAL POWERS, AND FREE FOOD
R.I.P Burke Shelley 😪
timeless poetry
there is no best song. Budgie is just awesome.
Rest in peace Burke, Budgie the most underrated band of all time
This band released so much amazing stuff. It is beyond belief how they did not make it really big. Lack of backing I guess. They were brilliant. A travesty of justice.
This band should be in the Rock and Roll hall of fame. They started it all in 1967.
that intro... 1973... wow... miles ahead...

This is the best thing rock gave us. What a feeling, what a guitar...!
OMG!😮
Not listened to this song for decades.
It’s like meeting an old friend
Bloody masterpiece 😎🎸
The guitar in the end is not emulating the sound of seagulls, it's the sound of nestlings calling for their parents.
Well spotted mate :)
true story? always thought it was a slide being used past the last fret...
Holy shit yooooooooooo I always just thought it was birds chirping but now this makes perfect sense why they used this on the song cus it's about parents. Got me in the feels now wow

What a fitting epitaph to Burke Shelley.
Aside from the awesome giutar/bass/drums etc. in this song, as a teenager, I learned a very valuable life lesson on growing up and how important my family and friends were, are and always be in my life!
Favourite from the 70s, many a night out of my head with this blasting full volume on the system :)
